I hate to do this, but I need to cancel my subscriptions to Pathfinder Battles, Pathfinder Modules, GameMastery Maps, and GameMastery Cards. My finances are a little tight right now, but I hope to re-subscribe in the future.

I've set up a replacement to ship out this afternoon for the APG. I've bumped it up to priority but unfortunately I don't think it will make it by Christmas.

Please keep the GMG with our apologies.

Thanks, Marie! You guys are the best! I guess the only bad thing about Paizo is that I spend so much money on your awesome Pathfinder products.

I just received this order and the box didn't contain GameMastery Map Pack: Ancient Forest.

You should be able to purchase and add the book to your order through the store interface. Put the book into your sidecart and go through the checkout process as usual.

In your shipping options, you should have the option to have item shipped with an existing pending order (this will be an additional option after "Ship with earliest possible subscription shipment"). Choose this option, then choose your subscription from the list.

I think that might be an erroneous conclusion.

There has to my knowledge been no official updates to the bladed scarf, beu considering the changes the spiked chain has undergone both the bladed scraf and the metor hammer should have their reach cut down to 5'.

Ah, but on page 20 of What Lies in Dust, the NPC uses a bladed scarf and the listed reach for it is 10'.

EDIT: or rather, the listed reach for the NPC is 5'(10' with bladed scarf.)

In a way, you've answered your own question. The monsters in the EPH use extra/different rules. It would be folly to include them in the main beastiary, as the book would have to devote extra pages to describe their unique abilities. If Paizo decides to make a 3P version of the psi handbook, that would be the proper place to deposit those monsters.

That being said, I've always thought it would have been a better idea to make most undead a template (especialy those that create spawn).

Edit: I've always thought of Lycanthropy as a curse, not a disease. Sure, you can try to cure lycanthropy with a remove disease or heal spell, but that just never sat right with me. Just my 2 c.p.

So under the template that removes those abilities, would it remove the lycanthropy as well? Or do I have zombies running around that can spread lycanthropy thru their natural attacks? or ghouls, etc?

Paizoians, I need your advice...

Is it possible for a lycan to become undead? More specifically, intelligent undead [Vampire, Lich]? If so, then what would the form of the undead be? Would the undead be in the hybird/base/animal form? would it stay in that form or would it be able to change form like a living lycan? What do you think about natural vs. infected forms of lycanthropy being undead? What form would show if the lycan was changed into a incorporeal undead?

Thanks in advance.

It seems simple to me, only lycans who become liches or vampires (and maybe ghosts, to a lesser extent) retain their lycan abilities. The reason for this is that the lich and vampire (and ghost)are templates which specifically say under Special Attacks and Special Qualities, "A lich/vampire(/ghost) retains all the base creature's special attacks/qualities as well as those described below." The ghost is a tricky issue, due to its being incorporeal.

Lycans cannot become any other type of undead and retain their lycan abilities, intelligent or not, due to the fact that all other types are either only an entry (ghoul/vampire spawn/mummy) or their template removes those abilities (skeleton/zombie)

Just about anything is open with me including things from setting books.

All so one thing I'm seeing is alot of anti Bo9S going on and i gotta ask why? That book actually made melee classes and the like viable. Its all perfectly balanced and if the fluff bugs you it can be easily changed.

My biggest beef with Bo9S is the complete lack of ERRATA. WotC didn't bother to follow up with this book at all. I mean, look at Superior Unarmed Strike. I guess a pixie can do medium sized damage. Or how about Shadow Blade. I know that the feat description overrides the table description, but where is the ERRATA? If I were skimming the table looking for a new feat, I might just take the feat, skim the entry and not notice that is doesn't mention that you replace STR with DEX.

But it doesn't end with Bo9S. Most books WotC released in the last year were practically shoved out as fast as possible to free up resources to develop 4e. Not the books' fault, but its enough for me to ban it.

For good measure, I'll stack my grappling issue on this. This seems so incredibly basic but I think there is an inherit flaw in requiring a succesful check to maintain a grapples. What happens when you fail in that check and the other character wants to maintain it? This is especially relevent in the move grappled target over a pit and release tactic.

1) A grapples B and succeeds. Both A and B gain the grappled condition.
2a) B attempts to maintain the grapple and fails. He is no longer maintain the grapple so he uses his movement action to walk away as he is no longer grappled.

If I'm reading the rules correctly, if A grapples B then B needs to take a standard action to break the grapple. If B thinks he has the advantage and doesn't want A to get away, then he makes a check to maintain, but he doesn't have to because the grapple was started by A and unless B breaks the grapple, the grapple continues until A is allowed the chance to maintain. Very complicated indeed.

So assuming B has the advantage in a grapple...
1) A grapples B.
2) B lets the grapple continue and attacks A.
3) Since A started the grapple and chooses not to continue, the grapple ends.

Or...
1) A grapples B.
2) B counter-grapples A(maintains the grapple).
3) A attempts to escape the grapple.

Edit: As for multiple grapplers, I think its just 1 check vs. all grapplers CMB. However the question becomes, does the giant squid get only one grapple action(move, damage, or pin)?

I realize that the "Hand" spells from the 3.5PHB are grouped together because of a proper name. However, this name falls under IP and therefore cannot be used. I cannot stress how convenient it is for players find the particular spell they are looking for when it is grouped with spells of a similar nature(e.g. summon monster I-IX, or planar ally(lesser-greater). I find it somewhat disconcerting that the various "Hand" spells are not grouped this way. I therefore suggest the following format:

Hand of Force I (Interposing)
Hand of Force II (Forceful)
Hand of Force III (Grasping)
Hand of force IV (Clenched Fist)
Hand of force V (Crushing)

I also put forth for your approval, that any higher level of these spells can perform the same maneuvers that any lower level spell can. I know that they pretty much already do, but it allows for more versatility and uniformity. So at HoF I it interposes only and at HoF IV it interposes, bull rushes, grapples(no damage), and strikes.

How does this sound?

Cheliax Shinami (Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Roleplaying Game, Campaign Setting, Companion, Tales Subscriber)

My take on the new power attack rules is this; two fighters at the same level and the same feats but with different STR scores would have the same to-hit chance, just do different damages. For example, a 1st level dwarven fighter w/ STR 16 and a 1st level half-orc fighter w/ STR 20 both take power attack and weapon focus(longsword). The dwarf has a +5 to-hit with a longsword and the orc has a +7, but if they both power attack, they both have a +2 to-hit. Sure, the half-orc gets to do more damage, but thats the point of a high STR score.

Combat expertise is a little different, and I think its meant for rogues and wizards, since they're the one with the high INT scores and don't see much in the way of toe-to-toe combat.
