~Slightly bitter laughter~ Well, now. One of my heroes is actually my ex-wife. She had a few problems, but she helped force me to grow up. She also could be a wonderful person when she let herself be. My parents and my brother. One of my friends, who is a recovering drug addict and alcoholic. All the people who have put up with me throughout my life. All of the Cigar night crew. Any school teachers, because they were willing to give up on a higher paying job to teach. Docters, nurses, paramedics, firefighter, and even police officers, despite the speeding tickets I get on a regular basis. ~WEG~

Farewell to Kings, you have my deepest respect for not only being a police officer, but also rasing your son so well. Keep up the good work.

Adventure Path 3,
***SAVAGE TIDE***

Having gotten tired of cleaning up the laundry, and the universe, AGAIN, the god of Cleaning and Laundry Detergent decided to take matters into its own hands. “These adventurers’s have to go!” Tidus Cleanus Maximus said. “First the make a mess in AP 1, then they create a wormy mess in AP 2. Who cleans up their dirty clothes and armor? Who cleans up the REAL messes that the lands face? ME!!!” So Tidus concocts an evil scheme. He puts his laundry detergent of mind control into Eric Mona and James Jacobs’ washing machine. Thus they are programmed to finish off these pesky adventurers off once and for all. Thus, AP 3 is born. But then Hepis Maxil, the Celestial Gas Spore Paladin gets wind of something evil afoot. To keep Hepis Maxil away from his plans, Tidus contacts the Abolith emperor and has him send his Skum ninjas and Flump special forces to stop him and invade the surface world at the same time. The Koa-Toa observe these upstarts doing the job they were planning on doing, so they then attack them…

End of Episode 1 of AP 3, ***SAVAGE TIDE***

Yes, and Orcus and Demigorgon relized that for the first time in eons they had a common foe in the Machine God. His anti-technology plan by making everyone reliant on his technology would wreck their plans for control over the material plane and their upcoming Demon WWF match.

~laughter~ The other half of the fun is seeing how many of your clones die in grusome ways! ~grins~ Have fun playing it, and remember...

The computer is your friend!
Trust the computer!

P.S. - Koga, I do hope things go better for you. A few years ago, one of my friends died due to his alcohol problems. I feel for you, my friend!

Especially some of Lilith's artwork! She is VERY good!

~groans as I look at the time~ Don't you EVER sleep, Lilith? ~grumbles about working the 4 PM to midnight shift~ Go to sleep. And the same thing for you, Sharoth!!!

P.S. - On a side note, I looked at the artwork that you have on the web and all I can say is WOW!!! Perhaps I could have you do something for me? Perhaps for some green stuff? ~grins~

~holds up my hand~ I would pay exta for faster shipping too!

~grins~ However, my local game store would be a bit upset with me for not using them for my Dragon and Dungeon subscription. I would also go for the 3 year subscription because I would not have to hassle with renewing for 3 years! YAY!!! ~does the math, rounding up to the nearest $10 for ease of caculation~ $120 for Dungeon plus $120 for Dragon plus another $100 for shipping for both equals $340. ~wistles~ Well, that would be doable, but only if I plan it.

I am still up for the expedited shipping!

~steps up to the podium and gently taps the mic~ Ah. Hello there. My name is Sharoth and I am a munchkin!

~chorus of voices from the audience~ Hello Sharoth!

~clears my throat~ I admit that I have a problem and hopefully the 12 step anti-munchkin program can help me!

Thank you for your support. ~steps down from the podium~

~chanting~ We are not worthy!

I would disagree that dispell magic or an anti-magic field would drop a changeling's disguise. Other than that, it would be death or changing to another form. Also, true seeing can see through it. Also, I like the concentration / will save. I'll have to try that.

Vic,

Thanks for all the good work you have been doing. This has sparked my interest in getting alot of the older D & D items that I have missed / lost / lent out to never see again. Keep up the good work!

Kevin

Thanks again, Lilith!!! As usuall, you always bring true gems to this board. That article is a good one. It makes me want to bring out one or two of my dozen or so home brew worlds that I have started on and flesh them out.

Well, Elan the Bard, I see several ***BIG*** issues that could come into play here. The first is that there is a Paladin and a cleric who are letting an evil person commit, quite literally, murder. At the very least, their Gods would SEVERLY punish them. Loss of powers, a Geas or two, cursed for alowing that to continue, ect., ect., ect. Honestly, if I were the Paladin, either the thief or I would be DEAD. Another thing, is the local thieves guild feeling the heat for all the murders? This is bad for buisness and they would fix this, problem. Make the local guild hunt the killer down. Remember, the Paladin is suppost to be the epitome of Goodness and should be played that way. Associateing with evil, for any reason, should have a HIGH price!

As for the Druid, well drugs cause many a problem in our society. Also, look at the Book of Vile Darkness for more info on drugs. Make the druid pay for using them. For example, the druid slowly begins to loose his connection to nature, theus loosing spell & special abilities. As the drug use progresses, the loos becomes more severe. Also, how is the druid paying for his habit? Is the local thieves guild being stiffed in the money department by the druid? Make them come after the druid and the party to get the money owed.

As for the wizard, I would need a bit more info on him. Perhaps the depression affects his concentration, thus causing a 5% to 10% spell failure chance? How is he down on his luck? Is his past going to come back & haunt him?

Good luck on this delema.

~Laughs~ So what you are really saying, Erik is that you just PRETEND to work? ~winks~ Keep up the good, er, work!

Thanks for the plot twist idea, Ultradan. ~cackles evilly as I plan my players doom~

Also, I have reviewed the sites that Lilith has offered up and all that I can say is WOW!!! Thank you Lilith for showing us such spectacular sites for DM's. My hat is off to you!

I agree with the rest, the 3 core rulebooks have everything that you need. Some of the things that I would suggest would be to...

1. Read up on history and other subjects that will be coming up in your world. After all, "Truth is stranger than fiction."

2. Read these and other forums for advice from players that have been there.

3. Make a notebook where you write everything that you have learned down in so you have one central location.

4. And above all, just have fun.

By the way, does anyone know if "The Temple of Elemental Evil" has been updated to 3.5? If so, does anyone know the link to that site?

Back onto the main subject. I loved playing and running "The Keep on the Borderland". I also have warm, fuzzy feelings about all of the older modules. They were such fun. Can we do them again?

I have yet to run it, but I am planning to put it into the campaign that I will be running. They synopsis is that someone is getting revenge for their loved one being killed due to the neglect of others. I have to admit, the way they put the adventure into Sharn was most interesting. Please keep us informed as to it goes when you run it.

Thank you both for the advice.

Thank you! It does help. ~-im-paitently waiting on my SCAP book to arrive so I can get down to work.~

~grumbles~ Great, now I want to play a ranger who specializes in archery, but I have to DM! ~gets an evil gleam in my eyes~ Perhaps my players are in for a suprise!!!

Also, if you have played City of Heroes, the ranger can be the equivalent of the blaster archetype. Their power comes from the fact that they BBG will be dead before they approach you! Shoot, back up. Shoot, back up. Shoot, back... oh he is dead!

With a ranger, think SNIPER!!! One of my friends used to love playing one like that. Ranger observes a spellcaster, aims, and kills said spell caster, thus ruining the poor DM's well thought out encounter. ~grumbles~ Also, do not neglect Impoved invisibility or any other types of concealment spells. Have your mage work with your ranger for a good done of trouble and chaos for the DM! Just like any other class, there are pluses and minuses for each. Do not forget concealment either.

Dragons and Giants and Demons OH MY!

I will have to review SCAP once I get it, but I was also thinking of having the Lords of Dust involved too. I like your ideas, however.

I know, I know! This has been discussed many a time before. However, I have just ordered SCAP and I am planning on putting it in Eberron. I will be using a lot of the AoW conversion info for advisement, but I want to ask the people who have put the work into their own conversion. So my questions are...

What are your suggestions for adapting the SCAP to Eberron?

What are the pitfalls that you encountered?

What are your suggestions for giving the Eberron "feel" to the campaign?

I plan on starting the game on the 1st saturday of next month, so I am beginning to prepare. One of the things I plan on doing is handing out a player handout to make things easier on the poor fools, er, players. Another thing I plan on doing is adding a few Eberron specific side adventures as well. I also will change some NPCs to be more Eberron specific.

I appreciate the advice that you are willing to give.

Best Wishes,
Kevin

dizzyk,
I too would love to have a copy of your Eberron conversion. I alos plan on running the AoW or SCAP in Ebberon. (I bought the books, now I want to put them to use.) Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Kevin
