Background:
Shara was born in Sandpoint almost exactly twenty years ago. Her mother, named Sandra, was simply one of the servers at the Hagfish tavern in Sandpoint before her birth. Her father was a more complicated case. As her mother told her, her father was a Varisian wanderer who had passed through town one day, spinning tales, telling fortunes and generally making himself an enemy of every father in town by wooing their daughters one by one. One evening, after a round of storytelling at the Hagfish, her father approached Sandra and offered her a fortune reading. Sandra recognized this as the start of one of his more common seduction attempts, but indulged him anyway. Her father began to deal a set of harrow cards and turned them over, clearly ready to turn the fortune into some declaration of love. However, his eyes narrowed and he remained very silent for a few minutes once he revealed the harrow to her. Finally, he began to recite, in an abnormally soft voice, the strange array before him. Sandra learned that some unknown force of destruction in her family’s past would soon become central in her family’s fate.

Sandra was perturbed by the strange fortune and the fortune teller reluctantly went on his way. Sandra saw him again and again through his journey in the region and she began to consult him several more times, trying to uncover what his first cryptic fortune meant. Sandra never told her daughter the full story, but the fortune teller was indeed her father. He left the region entirely a few months before her birth and never saw Sandra again. Sandra took great care raising her daughter, always a little wary that something awful would happen.

Shara was a precocious child to say the least. She was brash, rebellious, quick to anger, and a little bratty. It didn’t help that she awakened to the arcane power in her blood when she was only nine. While her control was tenuous at best and her power was very limited while she was growing, she drove her mother near madness more than once causing trouble with some of the other village children. Unfortunately, her life couldn’t remain easy. Entering her teenage years, her temper became outright explosive and was playfully nicknamed the Bonfire, for her furious tirades and scathing tongue. Fortunately, she proved to be much calmer when she began to indulge her intelligence. Brodert Quink quickly found himself the only person in town able to calm Shara’s temper and in return he received a brilliant pupil who was more than willing to absorb his lessons and whatever knowledge he could give her. Eventually, he informed her mother that an education in Magnimar could do Shara more good than what lessons he could give her on his own.

His suggestion couldn't have come at a better time. Shara's constantly growing magical abilities began to slip beyond her control and she began experiencing shocking and often mildly destructive outbursts of power. No one was hurt, but it was becoming increasingly obvious that she needed more arcane training that Sandpoint could provide if they didn't want her to burn the town to the ground. Scraping together enough money for tuition, Sandra sent her daughter off to the Stone of the Seers. Though Shara found her arcane talents more effective in matters of mental domination and conjuring of pure power, her studies theory of magic and the lessons in history and philosophy helped her advance her talents and fully manifest her arcane power. Two months ago, she finally returned to Sandpoint with her full accreditation from the school, ready to take on the world. In particular, her old mentor’s fascination with Thassilon has returned with a vengeance and she’s begun investigating rumors of more ruins near Sandpoint, hoping to make one good discovery of her own to jump start her career as a scholar and arcanist. She hopes to uncover some secret of magic power or lost lore that can help her truly advance her own powers. However, her mother’s old stories of danger in her bloodline have never quite left her and she also seeks to uncover exactly where her arcane powers originate from so that she might learn what fate has in store for her.

Appearance:
Shara is immediately noticeable by her flaming red hair, falling off her head in a long series of curls and ringlets. However, she defies the normal appearance expected of someone with red hair by having inherited her father's ducky Varisian complexion. She is rather beautiful, with a firm well developed body and carefully cared for hair and skin. Her eyes are hazel and seem to sparkle in her rare moments of joy.

She wears a variety of outfits, something of a vain affection that she picked up in the cosmopolitan city of Magnimar. But her favorite is a fine green dress, layered with silk padding to dampen blows a bit along with an ornate emerald cloak and robe set embroidered in gold thread in a vaguely Chelish style that she bought herself to celebrate her graduation. She often wears a few piece of gold jewelry to offset the green clothing and red of her hair and has started keeping Prestidigitation prepared to clean her clothes if they get messy while exploring or traveling.

Personality:
Shara is famous for her temper. She angers quickly, lashes out violently and generally causes a great deal of trouble. More than one fight has started in the Hagfish over her outbursts and she can drive even the most stoic person to absolute madness. However, she also can become almost impossibly calm and focused once something catches her eye. She has a deep love of history and knowledge and a thirst to learn and expand her knowledge of all things related to Thassilon and Varisia. This doesn't stop her from being friendly and open with most people. She generally good at making friends and very protective of the people she considers important to her. Of course, this can spark arguments in its own right. She's been working to try to keep herself under control ever since she left for the college in Magnimar.
