About Shakeer the Penitent
A dervish in the service of the Dawnflower, Shakeer came to Serenrae's doorstep to find forgiveness for what he considered a great sin.
Struggling to become a paladin, the young Quadiran fell short again and again, not finding the divine inspiration that is needed to become a champion of the Heavens, and seemingly not attaining the forgiveness he thought he needed to finally be inspired.
It was only when he realised that he committed no sin, and that those who scorned him were the ones in need of forgiveness, that his soul was mended again and he could call himself a champion of goodness.
Though he knew then that he did no wrong, he also knew that his family would not see it his way, so he decided to travel the world, do good and become an accomplished dervish in the Everlight's service to make his words carry more weight with his kin - though the old doubt is still with him, making him wonder late at night whether he's not really running away from the confrontation he must face one day.
