Setil dances around the fray to take up a position behind the ghoul's leader. Shift to P33.
Glad to see Invisible Castle hasn't changed over the break. Setil takes a second to reinvigorate himself. Standard action - second wind for 23 hp and +2 to all defenses. And spend an action point to use Cure Light Wounds for another 23.
New saves in case you wanted them: 17 vs. Slow, 1 vs. Acid, 6 vs. Weakened. Personally, I'd prefer the first batch. DM Grumpysauce wrote: Update and partial re-post, all involved (Karrn, Galad and Setil) please double check for correcticity. :) Note to self: pay more attention to conditional bonuses! Good luck, I created half of the PC's for my f2f game and at least once a session I hear "Oh wait! That should have worked because..." Plus, it's easier f2f because they can chime in as it happens. On a pbp, there's soooo much stuff to track that nobody can blame you for missing a hidden +1. Anyways, you're doing great! In response to #4 Ravenous bite, I'll use Frost Backlash.
DM Grumpysauce wrote: Setil: Your Aegis' immediate interrupt is usable 1x/round (according to PHB268), and so you still retain the use of Transposing Lunge. I'm confused. Did I use it more than once this round? It looks like I used it on the Initiate in round 3, and then I just tried it on the Initiate on round 4. Restoration Save vs. Acid = 12
Again, Setil prevents the full forces of the ghoul's claws on Sundered Heart, at the same time lashing out with his sword.
Setil once again repositions himself on the battlefield, this time in the midst of as many ghouls as possible. Shift to O33.
Setil moves nimbly into position across from Madda, resolved to free his friend from this curse in the only manner he can think of. Move action - shift to N35 He strikes out defensively, trying to protect himself and Sundered Heart from Jurival's poisonous claws. Standard action - Priest's shield 16 vs. AC +2 flank, +2 Retributive Shield, -2 concealment, -2 reek = 16 total. I'll activate my Couters of Second Chances and reroll: 23 vs. AC +2 with Memory of a Thousand Lifetimes = 25 vs. AC for 13 damage and Sundered Heart and myself gain a +1 power bonus to AC. Then Setil establishes a new link with the ghoul on the far side of Sundered Heart. Minor Action - Shield of Aegis to mark #4. Setil uses the arcane link with his lost friend to prevent some of the damage to Karn.

Spoiler:
I mistakenly used a reroll for Memory of a Thousand Lifetimes intead of adding extra dice. It doesn't matter now, just letting you know of my mistake. I guess moving has taken its toll, but at least I'm settled again. Setil concentrates for a second and establishes a link with one of the ghouls. Minor action, mark stalker #1.
Religion = 36
He hops from his horse hoping that at the worst, the beast only goes home. Setil draws his sword, feeling a welcome sense of security, then rushes at the closest enemy.

Spoiler:
I'm stupid busy with moving this week and my posting might be spotty. Act for me if you need to. BTW, being surprised doesn't grant combat advantage, except to rogues. Initiative = 25
"I am pleased to see you all." Setil welcomes Ioun's blessing and hopes that Pelor will eventually show his favor on the endeavor. I will be accepting a horse, and I think we should follow the river most of the way. Whatever time we may save by going striaght across would be lost once we hit the Harrowswode anyway. And then it only makes sense to take the easy route through the mountains, especially with mounts. As long as we're talking rituals, does anybody have Phantom Steed? If not we may need to procure mounts. DM
Spoiler:
Setil does reject it at the counter then, "Tell the couple I am grateful, but I cannot accept this gift. If they feel the need to give something for what happened, then they should donate to their church, for the gods had more to do with keeping them alive than I did." Setil almost appears to not be paying attention, instead studying his surroundings.
Setil stands and dusts himself off after the fight and then meticulously cleans his weapon. He listens in to the other conversations, but doesn't stop his work until Dierdre approaches. Then, he sheathes his sword with a flourish, and gives her his full attention. "May you always walk in the light. I am Setil. I know the wounded are the first concern here, but I would like to hear anything you know about these monstrosities." Then he speaks to his fellow combatants, "I am sure I owe all of you a debt of gratitude. Certainly, I only walked away from this because of your assistance. You have my thanks and Pelor's blessing. May you always walk in the light." And then specifically to Madda, "You seem to be a resident of Wellspring. Do you know if a priest of Pelor, by the name of Jurival has been through here? He is a friend, and intended to settle here." DM Grumpysauce wrote: Setil is stunned and has used his AP, so we can slot his save in at any point. Pardons, Ghettowedge, if this offends. No problem. One question, though: when did I fall prone? Save vs. stun = 20 Great, another nat 20 wasted on a save. Setil yells out over the din, "Blind Deva!! There is a creature on top of you! Wait and I will try to pull it off!!"
Setil nods at the dragonborn, "Do you have a couple more in you? I'll see if I can pull that one closer for you, then I'll get the leader." Setil then crosses the storm of energy and once outside of it sends tendrils of lightning towards the grell threatening the other deva.
Setil ignores the grell at his back for the moment, and thrusts his sword into the one that the dragonborn has wounded. After that, Setil's body begins working at normal speed again. Shift to Q14, Strengthen the Faithful: 30 vs. AC; 13 damage and Sundered Heart and myself may spend a surge and heal an additional 1 (24 for me). Save vs. Slow and -2 = 13 Setil blinks his eyes and sees the hilt of his sword, then everything comes back into focus. He grunts and rises to his feet, "Pelor's buisness here is not done yet." he says to nobody in particular. As the dragonborn makes a backswing with his weapon, Setil quickly touches it and it begins to glow as bright as the sun. And then Setil focuses on his body, regaining his poise and will to fight. Stand; Weapon of the Gods on SH's weapon (Until the end of the encounter, all attacks made with the weapon deal an extra 1d6 radiant damage. When the weapon hits an enemy, the enemy takes a –2 penalty to AC until the end of the weapon wielder's next turn.); and use my second wind (+23 hp, +2 to all defenses). DM
Spoiler:
I'm currently having computer issues that will hopefully be resolved in a day or three. I'm using a neighbor's computer right now. If my posting is holding up the game in any way feel free to npc me. Also, I accidentally rolled an attack that I couldn't make. Can I use it next turn? Here Setil uses what little strength he has remaining to break free of the tentacles wrapped around him. He staggers to the ground next to the dragonborn and manages to pull himself up to a fighting stance. He says to his newfound ally, "If I drop, try to prevent them from eating my brain."
Setil provokes with Lightning Lure.
Setil calls over to the nearby dragonborn, "I'll try to pull that one of of you, and... Sorry."
DM Grumpysauce wrote:
I forgot to roll a save against the randomly choosing targets, so we can call it even. But hey it's a 1 so nevermind. Setil is hurt and doesn't bother trying to break free of the creature's grasp. Instead his sword glows with holy energy as he hacks at the creature. Healing Strike on G4 31 vs. AC 11 damage and G4 is marked (still) and I spend a healing surge (23 hp). I'll also activate the daily power of my sword as a free action. G4 is dazed until the end of my next turn, or if it's evil or chaotic evil it's dazed (save ends). Save = 2.
