Hailing from parts unknown he's a bit of an inigma, he's clearly knowledgable and clearly old. Why he'd come to the stolen lands is beyond many a persons guess, by all accounts though he's eager to ally himself to the new potential rulers, perhaps hoping to create a legacy in the new founding of this government.
In fact this is the speculation amongst folks that encounter him. They wouldn't be too far from the truth if they could read his mind. The fact of the matter is that old age is creeping up on him fast. He spent soo many years of his life caught up in books he forgot to live it. In fact it's simply not fair, there's too much to read and too much to create, life was surely cruel that they put such an exemplary mind such as his into such a short lived body.
Jealous of the longevity of the long lived races, he's moved to not only study them but to unlock the secrets of immortality, and if he can live long enough to establish a legacy so his brilliance will not be forgotten.
