"Alright, here's a plan. How's about we rough our Mr. Rosk up a bit, then ask him. I doubt we'd get different results if we, ah, indulged him."
Where is Seann right now?
That. Creeped. The. Hell. Out. Of. Me.

Seann's purchases were an Everfull Mug and a rather inmuman amount of drink, bringing him down to 50 gp.
"Quite the exhausting day. I shall probably be accompanying Mr. Maelglum to the local establishment to inebriate myself out of my mind. I believe that ale is a bit too light for a day like this. Green Fairy, perhaps?"

Craft (Alchemy) check: 13 + 4 = 17. Barely made it.
While the rest of the group racks their brains in the hope of remembering the name of a particular evil outsider whose name begins with V, Seann analyzes the potion found by Lavinia.
Gently uncorking the small vial with his deciptively delicate fingers, he holds the vial up to his eye, then takes a quick whiff, sneezing mightily.
"I believe I know what the vial contains," he states, through watering eyes. "It's a potion of Cat's Grace, made with real cat hair. Nowadays, most people use distilled Essence of Cat, but there's always that one wierdo..."

Damn, I forgot to post Seann's prepared spells.

"M'lady, there's summat I happened to hear from one of the, erm, toughs in our mutual acquantance Mr. Vark's employ. He mentioned the Lotus Dragons. From what I've heard, they're some sort of guild. have you or yours heard of them?"
Seann's affectation is slightly different due to the conspicuous absence of alcohol in his bloodstream. (He'd not had time to drain the contents of the local tavern cellar.) More 'culture' I believe is the operative word.

Davrick, running low on information, seems to be growing increasingly fidgety.
"Dragoons, Dabloons, Dragging, Wagon….uhhh…Lotus…blossoms..possums…?"
Knowledge (local): 15 + 3 = 18. Does Seann know about the Lotus whatever-things?
"I need a drink," grumbles Seann, "I'm off to the Beached Whale."

I want her to know the whole circle that occurs with a task like this, so she doesn't enter into a course with blinders on.

I totally missed your point. Sorry.

Makes you wonder who is the real "animal" in this equation....

Seann, in the heat of battle... the heat of after-the-battle, but mostly due to a splitting hangover, had completely forgotten the mission.

It's a little funky, but he's wielding a shortspear (1d6) two handed. The attack bonus should only really apply to genuine two handed weapons, but I let it slide then due mostly to poor wording on the SRD's part. Are we good on damage only from here out then? Even with a 2-handed weapon the attack roll is 1d20 +str mod (not 1-1/2)+ enhancements.
SRD again:
"One-Handed: A one-handed weapon can be used in either the primary hand or the off hand. Add the wielder’s Strength bonus to damage rolls for melee attacks with a one-handed weapon if it’s used in the primary hand, or 1/2 his or her Strength bonus if it’s used in the off hand. If a one-handed weapon is wielded with two hands during melee combat, add 1-1/2 times the character’s Strength bonus to damage rolls.
Two-Handed: Two hands are required to use a two-handed melee weapon effectively. Apply 1-1/2 times the character’s Strength bonus to damage rolls for melee attacks with such a weapon."
Attack rolls always use your regular strength modifier, whether 2 handed or one handed, even if an off-hand weapon is used (damage would only be at 1/2 str mod though for an off hand weapon).
For some bizarre-ass reason, the line in my head between RAW and house rules blurs quite frequently (see the confusion about grapple checks on the 'Grimmbold Manor' thread). Sorry.
Reflex save: I GOT A 4! Damage (nonlethal): 1
Seann stabs viciously at the reptilian creature, his spear oddly drawn towards its scaly hide by Eldin's spell.
Attack roll: 16 + 4 Str (2-handed) + 1 magic = 21; damage: 1d8 + 4 (2-handed) = 7 damage.

If Seann intends to attack the lizard, Eldin will cast Guidance on him, for a one time +1 to hit, if Seann delays his attack until after Eldin casts the spell.
Seann is getting frustrated with the lizard. Normally, he would have just traced one of his tattoos an cast one of his own spells, but the constant electrical shocks are hampering his concentration.

Seann's quip costs him, as he fails to notice the pool of water he is standing in. He freezes for a minute as another shock courses through him.

Reflex save: 18 + 2 = 20

Is Vark unconscious due to Seann's attack?
Seann, predictably, maneuvers around the obviously distressed Vark, ready to deliver a killing blow. For some reason, though, he figures he shouldn't kill the pirate, ugly as he might be. As quietly as possible, Seann reverses his grip on his spear, and delivers a sharp tap to the base of Vark's skull with his spearbutt.
Attack: 16 + 4 Str (2-handed) + 1 Bless + 1 Magic Weapon = 22; Damage (nonlethal): 1d6 + 4 Str (2-handed) + 1 Bless + 1 Magic Weapon = 8 nonlethal damage.

Seann, on the map I put you a 5’ step from Vark to avoid an AoO from either moving into his area or casting this round. Is that acceptable?
All fine and shiny, that. (I forgot about the AoO being provoked by the casting of a spell.)
Seann begins to creep around to flank the distracted Vark, simultaneously gesturing furtively. As he moves perpendicularly to Vark, Seann is suddenly shrouded in a maze of glowing green lines that seem to correspond directly with his tattoos.
Casts Mage Armor: +4 to AC (now AC 16)
Seann sneaks up behind the remaining thug, all creepy-like and stealty, then, with a lightning-quick thrust, plunges his spear into the thug's back.
Attack: 10 + 3 Str + 1 Bless + 1 Magic Weapon = 15; Damage: 1d8 + 4 (two-handed) + 1 Bless + 1 Magic Weapon = 12 damage.
I'm having trouble visualizing this: are there any thugs near Seann? If not, where are they?
G'mork wrote:

Seann begins to skirt around the edge of the battle, heading towards the door that the thugs have been pouring through.
Move Silently: 12 + 2 = 14. I doubt it matters, since there's a freakin' battle going on about ten feet away, but it couldn't hurt.
Seann mutters a quick incantation, and the head of his spear begins to glow with an eldritch green fire.
Seann takes his action to cast magic weapon on his spear.
"Aw, they started without me," grumbles Seann. He begins to haul himself up one of the ropes hanging over the gunwale of the Nixie. The mage scurries over the side just in time to see Terin spring towards one of the thugs on board.
Climb: 19 + 3 Str = 22
Should I roll initiative?

Would Mage Hand do anything?
"Low Tide. A fitting name for such a... vessel."
"If one of those mercs goes anywhere near the gunwale, I've got a little surprise for 'em."
Seann winks, then traces a small tattoo of an octopoid figure on the back of his left hand, knowingly.
Eldin Farstrider wrote: “Well, that depends pilgrim,” Eldin responds to the tattooed man. “What can you do? Are you a warrior by trade? "I can help."
The large, tattooed man speaks for the first time in an oddly high, reedy voice.
"Just tell me what to do, I'll do it."

Since you are a specialist transmuter, and have chosen not to summon a familiar, you should look at taking the Sudden Shift option from PHB2. Basically, instead of a familiar, you gain the option, as a swift action, of gaining a Swim, Fly or Climb speed equal to your landspeed for a round. It looks pretty good.
Meh. Not a PHB2 kind of guy. I was just thinking of multiclassing to barbarian and keeping on that track, finally ending up as a tenth-level wizard / tenth-level barbarian. Or something like that.
By the way, I have no money left.
