I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords.

so till now the average gamer has an average in most stats of about 13?

the average person however is supposed to have around 10.

Int seems to be the most obvious, is there anyone who has gone below 14? (except Xabula who frightens cats)

I can understand all those "I can't play below 25 point buy"-people if they think that those stats represent them.
Btw. I speak 4 languages fluently (but not perfectly) doesn't make me an 18 int.
I'm not saying there is no person with two 18's in his ability scores out there, but to probability to have him on this board is quite low.

It's fun to see the other side of "how do I roleplay X in this ability?", and it's about as diverse.

According to the carrying capacity table, to have a 13 in your Strength Score you need to be able to lift 150 pounds over your head.

Very few men can press 135 pounds. Probably less than 5% at the gym. That puts your average fit and strong guy around a 12 in Strength unless he has natural talent or has been an athlete for a long time. I'm not sure I've seen anyone Press 150. It is hard to develop and pretty rare.

Theos and Gnome Wizard can both press 200 pounds.

Thalin can Military Press 175.

This is a bit what it looks like. I'm not saying you all couldn't be that. I just think the ratio of huge body builders on this board is impressive.

I was running the AD&D module "Under Illefarn" for some friends back in college. A couple in the group (the boyfriend played a paladin, the girlfriend a barbarian) were both knocked out while the group was having a running battle with orcs. The party didn't have the resources or time to get them up (they weren't bleeding out, just unconscious) so they stuffed them in a secret room they had found but hadn't explored, while they left and continued their fight with the orcs.

The barbarian came to while the rest of the party was still away and managed to get a torch lit. She was getting her bearings, when she noticed a shelf on the back wall of the room with an assortment of jewelry. She immediately leapt up "ooh, shiny" and grabbed one of the necklaces - triggering the falling stone block trap that fell on top of her boyfriend's unconscious paladin and blocked the exit.

The rest of the party eventually came back for her and was able to get her out of the room, but alas, nothing was to be done for the paladin. Once the rest of the dungeon had been cleared and the dwarves were able to move in to reclaim it, the party arranged for a plaque to be mounted on the wall where the secret room had been located.

Here lies Thryn, Paladin of Tyr
He got thin, so we buried him here

I'm talking more about the guy/girl that deliberately screws up everyone else's fun, thinking it is cool to hide behind the rules (I'm going to tell the DM right in front of you all that I'm going to pocket a bunch of stuff in the chest before anyone else gets to it, because I know their characters can possibly have a chance of noticing and can't do a thing about it) or tries to force everyoe else to do the things they find fun so that they get to shine all the time, regardless of the fact no one else wants to do that crap.

The entries for both the Arcanamirium and the College of Mystery claim to be the oldest institution for magical learning in Absalom. The descriptions in those entries actually seem to indicate that the College is the eldest, having been founded by some of the first colonists to the city, whereas the Arcanamirium was built by the Arclords of Nex, presumably some time after Nex tried and failed to take the city.

Am I reading those right?

The College is the older institution, I believe. Wouldn't stop the Arcanamirium from claiming otherwise, though.

I always love listening to the naysayers who claim they'd never get caught in such an awkward situation with kobolds. The whole story is to show how a creative DM can craft a challenge for PCs with what most would consider less-than-optimal creatures. I've done something similar myself, and my veteran players were forced to rise to the challenge and look beyond their preconceived notions.

I don't remember the rules to 1st edition (I was all of about 10), but I'd have to assume that any argument that was predicated on the assumption that Roger E. Moore didn't know how to play D&D is one bound to lose.

So you’ve been to school for a year or two
And you’ve memorised the SRD.
But when it comes to kobolds
That don’t mean sh1t to me.

Quoting EL, xp and CR,
On the Paizo message board
Doesn’t help you invade
A defended cave
And steal a real kobold’s hoard!

It’s time to face
What you most fear!
Appeals for help
Won’t help you here!

What you need, my so-o-on,
What.
You need.
My So-o-on!

Is a holiday in Koboldia
Where they make you wade in cack!
A holiday in Koboldia
Dropping scorpions on your back!

(Surf guitar break)

You’re an optimised sneak,
But your Fort is weak,
And your Will is made of fail.
We’ll see how you smile,
Dropped in the dung pile,
Skewered on a rusty nail.

Oh, you’ll sweat harder
With a spear in your back
From a hidden murder-hole!
You’ll regret
Getting out of your bed
Without your ten-foot pole!

It’s time to go
Where they use their brains!
It’s time to go
Where they deal out pain!

It’s a holiday in Koboldia
Where you do what you’re told!
A holiday in Koboldia
Where PCs get pwned and sold!

Ko – Bold!
Ko – Bold!
Ko – Bold!
Ko – Bold!

Ko – Bold!
Ko – Bold!
Ko – Bold!
Ko – Bold!

It’s a holiday in Koboldia
Where you do what you’re told!

Where PCs get pwned and sold!

Some additional details I have to bring up, I'm in a slight pickle

1) The banning evil NPCs are out as a majority of the players are evil. They were adamant that it would create more RP opportunities, and thus I've allowed it.

2) The player is friends with everyone and they want him in. However, they know of his shenanigans and suggest that he start at the same level as the lower level player (being level 4)...rather than one level -higher- than the highest level (as HE wanted).

“More RPing opportunities” generally means, in this case, more chances to act out puerile teenboy fantasies learned by playing too much Grand Theft Auto- killing innocents, raping, torture, stealing randomly and generally being jackasses.

Starting him @ 4th is a good idea. Shadowdancer doesn’t start until 6th.

What is Paizo's mission statement?

I always thought that it was:

"To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women."
