However, I have a small question. In the trail of beasts, how do the Tarrasque only save on 20s from being stunned? As far as I can see stunning fist it a fort save not a will and it has +31 fort.

It might be that I am missing something obvious somewhere.

I got the same question: What am I missing?

permanent Enlarge Person, cast by a wizard 11th. or with a scroll.

Be aware that shoe shop don't have your size. ^^

Funny enough, I was thinking I liked the idea of a redeemable devil. :)

A player's point of view:
I would love it if a GM offered me such an opportunity. I'm pretty sure he would f@+* me if I tried it.
Hey, All, guess where is the mistake? :)

Why would a Summoner dump Str or other physical stat?

He is all about buff spell: He doesn't need a 20 in Int.
A mere F10/D12/C14/I16/C10/W12 is enough, w/o the +2 racial, doesn't have any flaw and allow flexibility ingame.
HP are good, skill points too. Saves do not lack.

Where is the flaw that you see in him?

Just saying:
When it comes down to Book 2, don't speak too early about the guy in the Sanatorium. The party I'm GMing chose to speak to the witness first, brought them directly to Foxglove...

Also, I chose to give more answer to PCs from the start. Cause I couldn't believe noone had any information about Tassilon... Magnimar is a major city after all. Plus Pathfinder Society ought to have information.
And, since there is no secret about the real goal of the campaign (called Rise of the Runelord...), I chose to give them a 'Save the world' savor earlier.

They probably aren't so attached to Sandpoint as they should be. But they are already thinking about how to get information, and maybe way to fight a 10-000 year old ennemy.

Arf... We limit ourselves with french versions of books... And ISM is still not translated!
So many interesting thing in it. Like Cypher Mage (controlling Giant!)

I did a paladin with sacred shield alternative. Full Charisma.
Lots of save. Lots of AC. Lots of healing touch.
You can still get the Crane Style Fighting...
Half orc for the 'one more round moment' you get.

But the real plus is: GM can't ignore you when opponents is evil. Cause halving damage done reaally change a game... :)

Not that much as a matter of fact.

He got some HP (as a buffer, he don't need a very high stat), can get those of the eidolon, or even is evolution...
He get to wear armor... He is 3/4 bab, meaning grapple ain't that easy.
Save can be an problem but feat can compensate this...
Change place with eidolon is a quick getout solution...
And, in the end, he just 'live' inside the eidolon. :D

Only thing to really get a Summoner down is to focus him enough to get the player to beg you that he can change his character...

Oh!

And we play with CRB, APG, UM, UC only. No Third Party and mostly RAW. ^^

I didn't talk about my group 'cause I'm the almighty elf wizard, that everyone did a thousand time: I have to be able to play alone. Rest assured, this is a common place for us and even our master upgrade encounter to match us.

Plus, I don't plan to take all of my minions to any battle (I tried the druid with several pet and it already took to much time to play a round, had to roll dices during other's round, not paying attention to events);
But I like the idea that if a large battle comes, I can get some troops. Or that if I have to defend my home and my loot, this is gonna be 'tough' for my opponents to do it.

Concerning charm, asking to my best friend to not eat my other best friends seems plausible. :) And if he eat one or more peons in the dark, so be it: Death to those lowlife human with no magical powers!

Concerning construct (and item creation, on a larger note), they are more or less impossible. CL of the object is a requirement that can't be bypassed, meaning I can only get low-level constructs.
Plus, 3 feats is a bit hard for a MT...

One last question, what about lowering their saves? I mean, I don't really care if they die, or if they go to another side with a spell that is same or higher level than mine: Fair enough.
So, is it possible to lower will save for a long duration?

Kydeem: I knew I wasn't very clear, thus this explaination of what I was waiting for.

My 'minions' are, indeed, charmed monsters. Mainly orcs or giants, for background and environnemental reasons. Presented as redeemed creature for society... :)

First of all, just to be clear:
It's not about DD or a particularly sadistic GM.
I don't have only enchantment but I would like to play my fluff... Usually, I go with buff and necromancy.
I am W3/C3/MT4. Int20, Wis14. So spell level4 for now (charm monster).
This is not about controlling a protected one but someone already controlled that is the target of such spell (or who enter a Magic Circle against X, VRMH)

My main point is that I want to play a Wizard with some minions that don't change side at the first ennemy...
You can consider that money or spell are not a problem.

- I was said that Protection from X suppressed possession. It just gives a new save. Thanks!

- I thought it was against all possession spell, not only aligned one? Meaning if I am a LN, only Protection from Lawfull works?

- A Silence spell on them is a nice idea. And it has other use. ^^

- Rod of absorption is one costly solution. But pretty neat. Maybe on the chief of my minions...

- Dispel Magic to reclaim my minions is a good one but I'm a bit behind when it comes to CL...

Hi all,

I am running a Wizard/Cleric/Mystic Theurge. I wanted to play it as an enchanter.
I knew that it would be hard because there is mostly 'save or lose' spell. And I was ready for that
On the bad side, since a third of our encounters are immune (vermin, plant, undead, construct...) and another third of them die in a few round because of the warriors, I often feel useless. Okay, I can live with it: it comes with the deal.

But when I get to do something: Protection from Evil.
Come! On!
Spell Lvl 2. Immune to 'real' enchanting spells(domination, charm, suggestion and the others...).
Either way, I start a fight with my underlings. Circle of protection from evil. Fight just got worser...

My question is: What the f!*% can I do?
Easiest would be to kill my underling and transform them as undead. But it ain't in my fuff...
Ring of counterspell and Spell immunity on them everyday? -_-
Is there no other solution? Or am I missing something?

Rexflexes save. Paladin. ^^

Killing people is evil. So is stealing: can we say that Robin Hood is evil?
So the reason for it or other acts from the character can make him a neutral.

But it's true that my example was wrong. So you can add the flavor of your choice. ^^

A few fun example:
He's killing to feed his eleven younger brothers.
He's a former infiltrator from the army and his favorite dog is held hostage.
He's controlled by magic (okay not so fun).
etc...

The reason for his presence will be made up, anyway, cause he got nothing to do here: he's just here to be a worthy opponent for a paladin and his team.

I can mainly see spell as solution (as they are a solution to everything): against CaC, don't try to get stronger foe than them. Try too outsmart them. Plus, the best way to counter a wizard is an another wizard: Time for the other teammate to shine.
- Ray of enfeeblement with extend. Lvl 4. Even with a successfull save, that's still around 6 point of strength missing.
- A wall of force. Lvl 5 but it separate them 'definitely'...
- Or better. Dispel. Spell lvl3. Get him down if he is flying!

But if ya really want to take him on in fighting, remember that evil people can recruit that special rogue, not even evil, the kind a man working just for money and the thrill of the contract, typical LN.
You know, that halfing specialized on defense and feint.
Talents like Offensive Defense, Befuddling Strike. Feat like Dodge or Scroll of superior invisibility, scroll of shield, potions of healing. Maybe a scroll of silence. Don't give him powerfull stuff, just consumable one.
Fighting defensively and with combat expertise, he might have enough AC to tank that f%&+ing pal'.
And for the win, he is invisible: sneak all the time. Maybe Sap (two feats) him.
If you don't want of the invisible trick (that DOES seem like a trick) or if they can see him, he can use Two-Weapon Feint to sneak. Greater Feint would be useful too.

Those are quick ideas. I did that rogue as a DM for a super offensive barbarian. I wanted to give him a challenge. Finished as a draw cause he was half orc and that give him that one round to kill me but he fell.
Plus, there was the after-effect to heal him. It did took a lot from the group to get their fighter back to work.

Finally, you can attack them at night. Does he keep his armor and does he sleep in the same room as his friends? After all, he is the leader, with all those victories. And a leader should die to break the others. ^^

Just to know: how come Ghlorofaex is described as huge when he is a Gargantuan when looking at the campaign book?
