==Background==
The child was brought into the care of an elderly woman, Danica, a human priestess of Daena, who was charged with the task of naming and raising her. Saori, under her guardian’s tutelage, learned of her people and the stigma of her heritage. In secret, Saori sought out whatever knowledge she could of her father’s people, though in public she attempted to deny her heritage by acting ‘more human’ and concealing her more obvious elven characteristics. Saori began showing signs of her ‘natural ability’ to heal the injured and the sick at the age of thirteen. Her ability not only made her talented at mundane methods of healing, but she was also able to cure the flesh through channelling magical energy. Danica soon realized that Saori’s elven heritage and ‘sorceress magic’ would gain the notice of those who would mean her ill and encouraged her never to use her abilities unless absolutely necessary. With her coming of age, and the recent death of Danica, Saori has been encouraged to ‘find her place in the world’. She has taken her meagre belongings and left to seek her destiny in the lands beyond the protection of the only home she has ever known. Fearful of discovery, Saori continues to disguise her elven nature and rarely uses her abilities unless the circumstances are dire enough to warrant their use. Growing up within the insular environment of the church, Saori has been sheltered from the dangers of the world. She is by nature dreamy and idealistic, though many see her as aloof and strange. Saori often appears distracted, as if daydreaming, and this behaviour has led to Saori being called 'moon-girl' or 'wonder-touched' by the priestesses of Daena who lived in the convent where she was raised. Danica always praised her dreaminess as being a blessing from Daena herself. ==Appearance==
