One more voice speaks out. "I too will also help. I have come to know each of these men as my friends and have come to consider this land my home also. Allow me to aid you as best I can." Samal the Lamia steps out standing taller and more confident than any of you have seen since she first appeared.

Samal will hold back with Joe and wait for Arik to charge. "It kind of feels like I am attacking feral kinsmen. Seems a bit harsh, they were only hungry." Despite her protest she stands ready to move if the cats engage someone.

Samal smiles warmly at Joe and Tam. "Thank you. I thought I was going to die out there. It is nice to see so many good people willing to accept someone of my origin. We Lamias are not readily liked by most people. My family despises the gods. Because I chose to be more open minded of gods and people is why I was banished. So much hate in my family. I just never understood why."

Samal seems surprised at the newcomer but never the less she answers the question directed at her from Tam. "I was banished from my family and s was left wandering alone in the desert. Then these carvaneers rescued me from eternal loneliness. I am forever grateful to them."

Physical Description of Samal for the Newcomers and anyone else who wants a refresher:

Samal is a typical Lamia. Her upper half is that of a gorgeous scantily clad female. Long tozzled brown hair. Her emerald cat like eyes and cat like teeth. The lower half is that of a powerful lion.

Samal has a little more to her. Her body shows signs of malnutrition due to not having much to eat while surviving alone in the desert. Then there are the scars ALL over both her bodies. Mostly Claw scars and dagger scars. She looks good inspite of those problems and seems really perky and positive.

With Arik is a Lamia. She gives a toothy grin to the newcomers. "I am Samal. Your friend Arik found me out in the desert and gave me a fellowship to join. Now I move along with them helping them find their missing leader. You are Ricdak and Tam? Nice to make your acquaintance. Will you be joining us in our journey?"

Samal nods to Arik. "Yes indeed. I owe both of you a great deal. I will do whatever I can to help you find your brother as you practically saved me from from facing the harshness of the desert. Now let us go my friend." Samal accompanies Pavok to the library.

Samal shakes her head. "No I have never left the confines of the ruins before. I have been to scared to do so. This is my first time ever seeing this canyon. How will we get around it if we cannot cross? North or south? Which way should we go?"

It takes a few seconds for Samal to recover from Faznir's spell effects. Once she does she looks at Pavok. "One of the monsters hit me with some sort of spray and blinded me. Ugh! I am sorry couldn't be more helpful to you guys." She looks ashamed of herself.

Round one
Initiative:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28

Samal hisses and draws her dagger. Looking among the attackers she attempts to tackle the nearest birdman.

Pounce attempt: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Pavok and Arik are on two seperate watches? Anyway, here's a perception check for my watch.

Your right......oops. Well she was talking to you and Arik lol. Pavok go back to sleep.

Samal giggles at Arik. "Dwarves don't live in Aradina silly. So you could not be anything other than a foreigner."

At Mhkyir's probing Samal seems strangely unoffened by the conversation. "Our ancient ancestors were cursed by the gods with this bestial form you see before you. It is their fault that I look the way I do, but there are a lot of holes in that teaching. Though we may have been cursed I have to wonder by which god and why. Why do we only hate the good ones? We hate all religion, well the others do, but there seems to be an emphasis on the good gods. Also what exactly did our ancestors do to incur this curse. I wonder."

Mhkyirs your knowledge of religion does not yield any answers to her questions.

Suddenly Samal's cat hair begins to stand on end as she looks around frantically.

Mhkyir:

You see some shadows moving out of the corner of your eyes. It takes you a moment to realize that there are figures attempting to surround the group. You have time to draw your weapon and rouse the others before the enemies can finish the circle.

So....this is funny. Samal looks at Arik and Pavok uncomfortablely. "So....you guys aren't from Aradina are you?

Lol. Lamias are a large size cateegory. They can't ride anything unless its huge. Like an elephant. Lamias have a movement of 50 ft though.

Samal slimes with relief at the groups decision to not enter the ruins. "It's better this way. Less risks involved."

When Pavok displays his weapons, Samal looks a bit overwhelmed. "I have not been trained in the use of such weapons. Sorry I will stick with my dagger and claws for now. Thank you though."

At Mhykir's offer of a mount Samal simply shakes her head. "That wont be necessary. I can keep up. Thank you for the offer. That was very kind of you."

Since Samal is joining the party, I made an Alias for her. The avatar is the best representation I could find so there is your visual.

Samal listens to Jen and nods. "Oh my people are very wise and agile." She raises one of her lion paws and displays her very large and sharp looking claws. "Mine are rather dull compared to the others but this is one of our main weapons. Otherwise we wield an assortment of weapons. We are fast and very dexterous but our greatest asset is our wisdom DRAIN." She holds up her hand and it glows ever so slightly. "All Lamia's are born with the power to drain the wisdom of other creatures and then once they have lost a good amount of will, we attack with a series of mind affecting spells. All we have to do is touch and you lose your sense of will. It is our greatest weapon and asset. My people have killed many with this method though we are no slouches when it comes to physical combat as well. Individually we are very strong and very tough."

Just an FYI. This ruin is a CR 4 to CR 16 encounter. Think you are ready for that?"
