Being abandoned early is no way to start a life. Old Korvosa is no place to live. Kaer Maga is no place to look to end it. Yet Salfon Rarith seems to destined to suffer these.
All he remembers about his father was how he always looked to his holy books, which later became his own, for guidance. Once the caravan they traveled with arrived in Korvosa, the priest and his son sought those that would be redeemed. An alley is where Salfon lost his father.
Salfon's back grew strong in the years after. He found work in the bay, under the sun. The captain of the tiny vessel taught him how to read, how to fight, and how to drink. When he wasn't allowed to sleep on the boat, Salfon would travel the streets of Old Korvosa, hoping to avoid his father's fate. He never met the rogue who cut him down.
While budding into a man, the priesthood of Sarenrae heard Salfon's story. Immediately, they took him in. It took him many years to master the divine magics, but the healing and nurturing of Sarenrae's clergy came quickly. Slowly, his new home, the temple, became a shelter in Korvosa. He had finally found worth defending.
His bastion was smashed when a plague hit Korvosa. Flooded with patients, the temple was overrun. In the panicked flash, Sarenrae's temple burned to the ground.
Salfon eventually decided Korvosa only brought him sadness. Here he made an unwise choice: instead of heading to an established city, a place of peace, he decided to head into the darkness, where Sarenrae's light was needed most.
Appearance: A handsome male with short brown hair, and dark eyes appears. His tall, slender frame covered in thick, shining armor. At his hip hangs a curved sword, and around his neck is a glorious sunburst emblem, that of Sarenrae.
