You ever just thought of asking your DM to reroll your stats and reconfigure. If I had a new person whos getting use to the rules I would definately be way easier on them. In the end of the day what matters is if the players are happy with a good story. In fact I would have taken the time to show them how to configure a character to what they want. You could always jsut say your character went off to do his own thing if he isnt wound up deep into a plot and make a new character. If you decide to stick to being the diplomatic guy. I reccommend some lvls in bard. They are charisma base and you get a lot of skills too, but it sounds you want a character who could crush skulls more, so i reccommend abyssal as detect magic also reccommended, and get a wand of bull strength and enlarge person. invest in a greatsword if you want to if you really want to damage. I believe there is spell somewhere maybe in 3.5 maybe in pathfinder that allows you to send a weapon out and hurt a lot of people and it comes back to your hand.

Unless the duration of a spell is listed as "concentration," the spell will last its normal duration even if the caster is killed, unless countered or dispelled.

Its GM call, but I would go with Shadowborn. if the spell doesnt require a consistent contested roll or concentration it will last its duration.

I would disagree. Lets say Hasbro actually was willing to sell off DND for the right price based off of the right conditions. I think acquiring DND would be good for business. If a dnd acquisition could happen they would increase their market share in the roleplaying demographic and I would imagine there would be harder barriers of entry for competitors because of that. lets not just think of beholders and illithids here as well, can you imagine paizo writers working on Ravenloft or faerun. I highly doubt they would also shelve the golarion universe. They really have something great with it. Don't forget Pathfinder is a labour of love as well. Paizo is more interested in making their niche happy,which in business you would want to do. I cant fully say Paizo is not in it for profit because that would not be true, but Paizo exists today because they really consider it a labour of love. The staff is pasionate about roleplaying.
