Adventure: Burnt offerings
Fatalities: Simeon(duskblade 4) and Merrokan(ninja3/ranger1)
Story: Third member of the group fell to the pit trap in Thisttletop. Nualia then attacked other two members and after a long fight killed them both with bastard sword. Third party member managed to escape from Thistletop.

Actually it's quite easy to add text fields to PDF's with Acrobat. The downside is that I don't think you can save the sheet with added texts with acrobat reader, you need acrobat professional to do that. You can still print the sheet with filled text fields. I haven't tried any other pdf-programs out there, so it's possible you can save them with some other program.

Now there's something to wait for. The text mentions new rules, spells, etc. So this is likely going to support 3.5 rules? I can not wait. Really, I want this now.

Nice one KaeYoss. I have a similar design where all the combat-abilities are on one page. It also fits everything on one paper, but It's designed for a melee-character, so it doesn't include space for spells etc. It uses background art from RotRL Player's guide, so I think I'm not allowed to post it here...

What's this talk about freebies from WotC? I thought that the articles are free for a limited time and soon we should pay a monthly fee to see them? I quess previews and excerpts will still be free, just like here in the blog...

We had all the splatbooks allowed in Age of Worms. They had quite easy time in many fights, but there were few really difficult ones. Dragotha for an example. We're playing Rise of the runelords now, and I allowed only few splatbooks because their enemies don't have access to any of them. To balance a little bit, I gave them 28 point buy instead of the 32 we usually use. And there is only three players. I'll have to see how that one goes before I start to alter my baddies. But yeah, different styles, same amount of fun! =)

aw, sorry about the typo with the name, it was late night here =). No he isn't colossal. Not going to spoil he's stats over here, but I played him straight from the book, didn't give freedom of movement either. I actually didn't think they would really grapple him. And it was quite a big pile of grapplers there. Anyway, it was their last and only chance, so it was ok it worked. I like to have my players save the world =). Didn't alter any other monster in the campaign either, so there were very little character deaths. We have a quite different style of play, but after reading about these wonderful sessions, I'm starting to have some evil thoughts... ;)

You're absolutely right. I have a session coming up in a week. After that I have to put the game to a halt and wait until my local store gets the book. I have to seriously look into subscription. And after all, this is the best material I have ever seen =).

Beastman: Same here in Finland. I think I have one session of Burnt offerings left, and all the game stores have to offer is preorder. I figured out earlier that by subscribing I would get the book the same time I would get it from my local store. But now when I'm running out of material I'd be very glad if I had the pdf on my computer =). So I think we should just subscribe... ;)

Heh, I think I know what the "mad" stands for =). Anyway, I don't think that Galli or any other of my players need more ideas how to beat my cool BBEGs at the table. I mean they already grappled the hell out of Kyuss, sad moment I say. Well, maybe I should just adopt some of Alan's awesome style of mastering the game. And to Alan I must say I just loved what you did with Dragotha, you killed more with him than I managed to kill in the entire campaign. Keep up the good work!

I actually like single room dungeons. I haven't played Tides of dread or Savage tide at all for that matter (just finished AoW and started Runelords, which is awesome), so I don't really know what kind of single room encounters are there. But basically I think that there's lot of options for players in a single room. There are many ways in d&d to control the battlefield. If you see a temple with a door, you don't have to just go through the door and fight the monster inside. look for alternative routes, or why the heck, lure the monster outside. Or did I take the statement too seriously that all you can choose is the initiative? But it seems that our style of play is different. Our group does'nt care if there's some railroading in dungeons, as long as they can decide what to do outside of them. BTW. Thanks to James for Burnt offerings, it's the most open ended adventure I have DM:d this far, didn't even alter it.

Hm, everyone with only three players are allowing 32 point buy, gestalt characters or something... I hope I'm not looking for a catastrophe with my following three players:

-Wilfur the Red, very diplomatic dragonfire adept who fancies a tower shield in battle
-Unnamed, a sneaky varisian ninja wishing to become a dervish.
-Unnamed, haven't decided, maybe a Duskblade

I'm going with 28-point buy with a bonus feat from RotRL player's guige. I hope they survive the campaign... (well they just finished Age of Worms with only one character death, but in that they were 32-point buy with all WotC-books allowed)
