I would love a poster sized map and would definitely buy one! Heck, even a vinyl one like Ptolus had (yes, I bought that one too - love maps). -sakkara Damon Griffin wrote:
It seems like several us of keep posting on this intermittently, in the hopes that someone from the Paizo camp will comment. James? Erik? Lisa? (Monte?) Is there any chance that Paizo would pursue a partnership with Monte/Malhavoc in regards to Ptolus modules and/or other material? It sure seems like a lot of people are interested in buying material if it were produced, I know I sure would buy them. I know the comment was made about the figures being tied to a product line (in terms of gauging interest on it). I am not interested in the figures, but would most likely buy any module/supplement produced. I have all the Ptolus materials (books & maps -- even bought the vinyl wall map). It would sure be cool if someone from Paizo could comment on the viability of Ptolus modules via a partnership/licensing from Monte/Malhavoc. Then I could quit bugging eveyone by bumping the thread back up every few months. :) James? Erik? Lisa? (Monte?) Thanks,
Now that GenCon has come and gone, and the Labor Day holiday has ended, I assume that all the Paizoites have returned to their cages. It would be cool if someone from Paizo could comment on the viability of Ptolus modules via a partnership/licensing from Monte/Malhavoc. It seems like a year ago when this thread started, getting Pathfinder established and successful was the priority, which sure seems to have happened. Is there any chance that Paizo would pursue a partnership with Monte/Malhavoc in regards to Ptolus modules and/or other material? It sure seems like people are interested in buying material if produced, I know I sure would buy them. James? Erik? Lisa? Thanks,
I was trying to make room on my shelves for the Paizo products I've been buying for the last year, and just keeping on a pile on my desk. The idea that others have been floating about placing Ptolus into Golarion is intriguing, as we are starting a new campaign soon. It would still be nice from someone from Paizo to comment on the viability of Ptolus modules via a partnership/licensing from Monte/Malhavoc, now that everyone is back from GenCon. -Sakkara
I hadn't thought about integrating Ptolus into Golarion before -- that's a good idea. Even if Paizo / Malhavoc doesn't officially collaborate on Ptolus products (& my hope is they will!), either Paizo and/or Malhavoc could do a web article / sidebar-type treatment on the topic of integrating Ptolus into Golarion for casual use. -Sakkara

Given that it's a year later now from when this thread started, Paizo seems on very firm footing with the launch of all the various Pathfinder products. So I was wondering if having Monte on board for the Pathfinder RPG might lead to revisiting the topic of Paizo working on some Ptolus modules (or other material)? I just Lulu.com'd his two Book of Experimential Might books (was exciting to have new Monte content), so any Paizo-Malhavoc collaboration around Ptolus would be very welcome & met with equal (or higher!) interest!! -Sakkara
Pathfinder & GameMastery Modules Subscriber here... I do not plan to adopt 4E out of the gate (if at all). I have shelves and shelves of 3.x material, and have no plans to buy another FRCS, ECS, Complete XXXX series, etc., etc. Still stinging a little bit from the rapid 3.5 release (& feeling a little betrayed) and having to "rebuy" FR material, and other books. I really like the material that Paizo is putting out (in term of Pathfinder, GameMastery Modules, as well as the new Campaign world). I like the dual release of print and PDF for subscribers. I especially like the level of customer service and partnership with the community that Paizo embodies. It stands in stark contrast to the cold impersonal manner in which WOTC has treated the community, killing the print Dragon & Dungeon magazines so they could launch their DI effort under that banner. I have no interest in the DI effort either. There voiced effort to attract a "new" audience seems rather insulting to the "current" customer base. I would be interested in Paizo releasing some sort of 3.75, that fixes some of the bugs in 3.x, but still remaining true to that body of material. As many have said, the mere fact that Erik and other Paizo folks reach out to their customer base shows that they genuinely care about D&D, it players, and the future of both, in a way that WOTC does not seem to "get" anymore. -Sakkara
Thanks. I figured that I couldn't be the only person who had issues with it, but I didn't see another thread anywhere, so started one. Thanks for turning me on to the main one... Disenchanter wrote:
AAArrrgggh. :( The PDF for the first issue is not a fully-formed PDF like the GameMastery Modules. Once extracted, the PDF is multiple, protected PDFs (which prevents you from assembling them into 1 PDF). This is terrible! I wouldn't care so much that they were separate if I could assemble them into 1 PDF myself, but they are locked! I emailed Customer Service about this several days ago, but have not received a response yet. Has anyone else contacted Paizo about this? I can't believe that I am the only one that this annoys.... Great production values on everything so far (I have all the new GameMastery Modules, as well as the Player's Guide and Pathfinder #1), but this little digital hiccup could be rectified SOOOOO easily by either reposting the PDF as 1 cohesive issue (like the modules) or unlocking the parts, so we can assemble it ourselves. Little help CS?? Thanks,
I converted my subscriptions to Pathfinder. I am willing to give it a try, since its being created by the same talented folks. I will also probably check out the GameMastery line as well. The price of both, I am not so happy about. They seem quite high -- which will directly play into my decision to buy the new products lines. The need to rock to justify that price point. If they start to become "meh", then they'll become less worth it. I am excited by the new Paizo-Necromancer partnership as well, so I will be intently watching Paizo, and hope for great things. WOTC on the other hand is simply cutting off it's nose to spite it's face. I cannot fathom why they are pursuing this model, and I wholely expect it to fail. I have no intention of supporting it.
