skullcrusha got his start running the shadows back in 2054 with a guy offering him 1,000 nuyen to deliver a package to the back of a small bike shop. turns out the small box was a bomb, and moments after SC dropped it off and turned the corner, the bomb went off. with a ringing in his ears, SC peered around the corner to find nothing remained of this building. With that startling vision, SC took to learning all he could about explosives, how they work, different ways to make bombs, learing the mechanics of an explosion. This fanaticism quickly spread into application techniques and he started running with random low level newbs just for the opportunity to test out the theories he learned.
his step up into the big leagues came when he partnered with his associate, a mage by the name of BLACK, and was offered the job of assassinating the heads of a triad group (in 2063). the lay of the landscape prevented a long range sniper shot, the building had too many anti air and anti personell security features to make it feasable to assualt the building. So SC used his knowledge of explosives and wired the three buildings surrounding the target and leveled half of a city block, managing to kill the intended targets in the process.
when the crash of '64 hit, SC took advantage of it and dissappeared. all records of his dealings, anyone who knew him by the name of Skullcrusha, anyone who payed him any money, wound up dead or insane from the personal time with the guy. since then, no one knows where he is

in 2065, SC paided top dollar to get a new SIN with a new name, Joshua O'Brian. within two years, joshua (SC) got himself a job at ARES in the R&D dept, utilizing his vast knowledge of explosives and chemistry to make a name for himself, inventing a prototype "area leveler" bomb. this saves the butt of the ceo of R&d, Ben smith. Smith grants joshua a position of manager of the explosives and bombs division of the ares rnd dept.
Once a week, Joshua makes a trip to the upper east side of seattle to a small italian resturaunt where the spaghetti is heavenly. His regualarity at the place prompts the attention of the local owner of the eatery, a Jimmy Calloway. Quickly josh and jimmy build a friendship, both for the enjoyment of each other, and because they have alot in common and they also discovered each others secret ID. Jimmy is one of Seattles Dons of the mafia, controlling nearly 45% of all mafia dealings. Jimmy discovered Josh's secret after a late night of friendly talking and a little too much to drink made josh run his mouth and reveal who he was. As it is right now, both are happy with each others mutual help, but...
Erin carter is just a lowly captain in the ranks of lonestar. Joshua just happened to be in the right place and right time... he helped her change a tire on her patrol car while she waited for a tow truck to come do it. brief pleasentries were exchanged, and josh makes it a point to call her at work from time to time to ensure she doesnt forget him, but hes not wanting to pique her curiosity of him and his former background.
During this time, he met a lady at a company party and they started dating. He quickly married the lady and got him self a few kids.
2 weeks ago, unknown assailaints broke into his house, tied him up, and roughed him up. They bound up his wife and 2 kids, and took them, saying "well be in touch. be ready to do whatever we demand"

now, 2 weeks later, he patiently waits for a call telling him his family is still alive.
