About SCOCK

As a teenager (the 80's) living on a farm in Deer Island, Ore. (BFE) I was granted a book from the local crazy dude. Dungeons and Dragons Basic rules. “Holy Shit! This is cool” I remember thinking. Unfortunately my location was so isolated that my entire experience was singular. (not just with D&D) It was like trying to learn how to drive a car without ever seeing anyone do it. I also remember my amazement the first time as a young adult I witnessed the game played “correctly” (everybody having fun). Good times for sure. Enter Game Force, my business that my Oregon family scoffed at. 20 years and a lot of hard work later I found myself pulling the original book the guy had given me out of a dusty box to show my 10 year old son. “We'll just roll up some sample characters so you can see what the world was like before video games, Kid.” START the insanity! My wife comes home and says “When I was a kid, my brothers would make me play that and always killed me.” “I know you'll run the game correctly honey, get me some pink dice!”. Spent some money, got some books, joined a local group, raided their available players, started my group. Paradigm shift from Basic to Expert to Cyclopedia rule-set and finally the great shift to Pathfinder. I definitely have much more work to do, but I am always striving to be a greater GM. My group says I'm great at it, good enough for me.
