Territorial Warfare Starts Tomorrow! Holding & Outpost Warfare and Settlement Capture starts Thursday 30 July Tomorrow we are going to activate Early Enrollment 10.1. This will turn on Holding & Outpost Warfare. This will also mark the start date for attempts to capture unused Settlements. Please read more about these features in this blog. Starting tomorrow Companies can feud opponents and begin overrunning Outposts. That means that Friday the first Holdings may be contested. You will need to monitor your territory during your Settlement's PvP window to watch for attacks - there is no in-game notification. You can read complete release notes for the 10.1 update here. Additional Notes We are going to run a script during downtime to correct some bugs with the amount of Influence that has been allocated to structures. You can read about that process in this forum post. Please note that in 10.1 we are changing the Bulk Resource Upkeep costs for Holdings and Settlements. Be sure you're reviewed the new info (which is in the blog posting) before Monday morning. As always if you have any questions please email us at customer.support@goblinworks.com and we'll do our best to assist you!
Players this morning, 13 June, we updated Early Enrollment to v9. You can read the complete release notes here!
This morning we deployed a server-side fix, v8.2.3, which addresses the erroneous calculation of Influence after a Feud or the teardown of a Holding or Outpost. A client-side patch is not required. We are planning to do an influence recalculation that will restore Influence to Companies that were affected by the incorrect previous Influence restoration after Feuds and structure Teardown. We did a dry run of that adjustment this morning (Friday 05 June) but did not implement the adjustment. We may have the opportunity to do the adjustment tomorrow (Saturday) or we may wait until Monday. We will get it done as quickly as we can. Fixes:
This update did not change any of the calculations for Influence, it just fixed the bug that caused Influence to not be restored correctly. We are continuing to evaluate the underlying calculations themselves with your feedback.
We attended PaizoCon last weekend and during the show we presented a number of Pathfinder Online panels to the attendees. We recorded 4 of them for distribution: The Goblinworks 2015 Annual Update The Economics of Pathfinder Online The Pathfinder Online Art Review PvE and Escalations in Pathfinder Online There's a tremendous amount of content in those panels and I'd be happy to try to answer any questions anyone may have although I may have to punt and ask that you shift some specific questions to the forums at goblinworks.com where my team can try to answer in more detail. And if you'd like to try Pathfinder Online free for 15 days, email customer.support@goblinworks.com and I'll be happy to issue you a trial invite. RyanD
Saturday starting at 11:00am (Pacific), we will be running a special edition of Adventure Time from PaizoCon. Watch on twitch.tv/goblinworks
We've posted a new blog about the new Deurgar content in Early Enrollment 7. Early Enrollment 7 is scheduled to be deployed Friday 17 April. You can discuss this blog on the Goblinworks forums!
Players, I am going to be broadcasting live via twitch.tv/goblinworks this afternoon at 2pm (Pacific). The objective is to demonstrate the new Outpost & Holding Feature (although we may see some other stuff too!)
Hey everyone! At 2pm (Pacific) today I'm going to broadcast from the Test Server and show off some of the features of Early Enrollment v6. To view the broadcast, visit twitch.tv/goblinworks!
layers, We're configuring some features for the folks with Head Start enrollment from the Kickstarter and we sent some emails inadvertently. Very sorry for any confusion. If you are an Open Enrollee and you get one of these emails you can safely ignore it. Mark thinks about 300 emails were sent, and mostly to internal accounts, but a few did go to customers.
Players we've just posted a blog all about the design language of the Feat icons.
Early Enrollment v4.1 Release Notes are now available! Early Enrollment v4.1 will come on-line when the game returns to service at 10:00am (Pacific) on Saturday 21 February. You MUST run the Patcher to update your client to v4.1 before you can play.
Early Enrollment v3.0 is live! Note: There's a small bug that doesn't show the correct error message if you attempt to log in with a client that has not been patched. The client will hang on the "Connecting to server..." message instead of properly showing the "Wrong client version" message and aborting the login. You must patch the client before playing.
I have created a thread on the goblinworks.com forums for people affected by this issue. If you are one of the very small number of players affected, please read this today if you can.
Players, we are turning on the game time management functions today. Read all about these changes in this blog. Note: If you logged into the game in January, you will automatically use a month of game time in February as soon as your first month of game time expires, unless you opt out. Read the blog to see how to change your game time settings.
Players, it's time to publish an official policy on this topic. It is not ok to engage in PvP in NPC Settlements. That means Kindleburn, Marchmont, Ossian's Crossing, and Rathglen. You can gank away in Rotter's Hole. :) I'm imposing this limit because the Thornguard AI is not strong enough yet to provide adequate defenses to the NPC Settlements and the new players that are inhabiting them. Until we have added enough tech to make the Thornguard able to intercede swiftly in PvP actions in NPC Settlements, we have to have a policy against it. If you are in an NPC Settlement and you are attacked, please note the name of the character who attacked you and email customer.support@goblinworks.com with that information. The only exception to this rule is that it is always OK to attack any character with a red name. Thanks for everyone's understanding.
Hey everyone - spreading the word in every way possible. This is the last week to earn Backdated XP in the first month of Early Enrollment in Pathfinder Online. If you have an Early Enrollment account, this is a tremendous perk. Characters earn XP in realtime, so the first character created on an account in the month of January will FOREVER have the Max possible XP. If you have Early Enrollment access, be sure you make a character to take advantage of this perk. If you have Explorer or Open Enrollment you can upgrade your account via the goblinworks.com/shop. If you're playing Pathfinder Online be sure to remind your friends about this perk too. After it expires, characters will start with just 1,000XP.
I've posted the Release Notes for the Test Server deployment of EE2. Please use that thread for commentary!
Yesterday we attempted to use a variety of customer service tools to help Brighthaven reconfigure their Company structures. Today it appears that some of the characters in those Companies are not able to correctly interact with the War of Towers system. Instead of generating capture points they're generating negative capture points or no capture points at all. There's a pretty good chance this will clear itself up tomorrow after normal downtime so we're going to take no action today and see what happens tomorrow. If your character is one of the characters affected, please email customer.support@goblinworks.com so we'll be able to keep a record of affected characters. We thank everyone for their patience and apologize for the disruption.
We have a problem affecting some players that creates a situation where their characters cannot be returned to the game correctly after they die or are disconnected. The primary symptom of this problem is seeing the client hang at the "Waiting for Character..." message during the Enter World process. We have built a short-term fix that we will use to periodically sweep the database and change these character's locations to the middle of the Hex they were in when the problem occurred which will allow them to be logged in correctly. We built this fix yesterday and we have not yet made it a routine automated process so if this problem occurs to you on Sunday the 4th of January, we will likely not be able to restore access to the character until the following Monday. Work continues to fix the underlying problem causing this condition so that we will not need to do this character repositioning in the future. If you are affected by this problem please email customer.support@goblinworks.com so that we can track the issue. We thank you for your understanding! RyanD
The first Settlements have been activated! If you don't have an active Settlement, you need to read the blog Setting Up Companies and Settlements and follow those directions!
