When I first saw the xp chart I was confused. Now that i know the DnD one is not Open Source I understand. So let them print what they want. Everyone will use the DnD xp. Those Core books will be around a long while with ebay and half price books in our life.
Here ya go now you have another to choose from. Two sided I will update when mistakes are found. I think I included everything but I need to look over magic one more time.
Pathfinder RPG Alpha1 Charater Sheet.
I am working on one hope to have it up for review soon.
This is one area that I need to playtest. This has many good possibilities that make the whole skill system very simple by walking away from the skill points. Take the Wizard a class that always felt like it was bumbled when skill points were assigned to it. Now with a +3 to Int gives the Wiz 5 skills to choose from Appraise (Int), Craft (Int), Fly (Dex), Knowledge (all) (Int), Linguistics (Int), Profession (Wis), and Spellcraft (Int) a good deal. At first level choosing the skills Spellcraft (Int), Linguistics (Int), and Knowledge (arcana) (Int), with a good chance to succeed +7 too all three of these class skills rolls. Then cross class skills of Acrobatics (Dex), and Disable device (Int) would be +4 and +5 if there was a Dex bonus of +2. Then if you were human you could add another. Wizards under 3.5 never felt this smart.
BTW are there still some skills that cannot be used untrained?
Jason
As a player that loves his stealth, I would raise the required +2 to a +4 or more for using cover and stealth. I don't want Humans hiding behind Halflings it is just weird.
When my group got to the study room they suddenly asked "Do you have a picture of it?" Well no I didn't, but now I do. I share so for those out there that are interested. Here are the three mutated skeletons in the prison cells off the study. Beware... they're naked.

Enjoy and let me know what you think.

Which font did you use for the first page? I want to recreate this only because the page wrinkles are printing very well... The font is Alphabet of the Magi. Here it is.

Now I need to find one for the other languages in the game.
Salama wrote: Hey, you actually did it! How long did it approximately take? Good job! About 6 hours Salama, would have been less but at one point I realized my grid was of and I had to adjust everything.
btw the yellowish round elements near the stables are hay bails. Figure those mastodons must eat a lot. I threw a curtain into the bear temple to hide the frost giant since in the box text it says the place looks deserted. Would have added even more detail but I wanted to keep the file size down.
OK, I went and did it. I made a 1" = 5' battlemap of Jorgenfist Fortress. I doubt anyone will print the whole thing at that size since it's 100" wide (that's the narrow side) but just in case here it is. Please give me changes and comments. I tried to stay as true to the text in part 3 as i could.

Burnt Offerings Handout 1
I've had one session with my group. They've made it to second level at the end of the 5 hour session. Shayliss targeted the Shonti favored soul (double perjudice) to come "Kill Rats" in the general store basement. Her father walked in on them and the father is fuming telling him to get out the PC is being respectful and calming Ven down. Just as it's all ready to calm down Shayliss pleads "But Daddy I Luuv him!" which causes the other player to roar with laughter. The play stands tall and says "I love her too." The laughter erupts again as Ven screams and shoves him into the street and locks his daughter away in her room.
Now I have ammo for their secret trysts and motive for her pursuit. Should I make pregnancy a 70% or 100% chance?
The controlled leaking of information on the system has not swayed me in the least. I admit I am bitter about the 4e change. A lot of that is the nixing of Living Greyhawk. Seems Wizards has lost a customer and Paizo (thanks for having the name at the top of the page) has gained one.

Is there anyway to add this to my pathfinder subscription to save on shipping?

What is another word for jealousy? Envy, and what is the common phrase for jealousy? Green eyed monster. It is an eye looking at your money, your good looks, your success and wanting it for itself. For this sin you will be placed in freezing water for eternity.

I tossed in a few little cartoons of Tzuto proudly posing with burthazmus' decapitated head, making out with nualia on a pile of skulls, and roasting marshmallows over a burning sandpoint. also sketches of orik and lyrie, and ripnugget, since tsuto seemed like a doodler. Should have had you for the funny stuff. I tried to stay very close to the handout in the book. Now I know why they invented marshmallows.

For my group I made the handout Tsuto journal pages for them. I think this gets the point across better than reading the handout. Let me know what you think.

Nope, I keep considering making one of Jorgenfist though. Seems like its a place just ripe for a huge battle map. Keep considering this 90" (450') wide battle map and the fun it would be to make it. I was considering curving the grid along the top of the wall because the normal way would be a nightmare for movement. What do you think?
I now know to start a new topic with each map I create.
Only 26 votes behind now. Everybody that posts on these boards should vote.
A while back I posted this to the combat map board. It's a few more buildings and I added some other shops for flavors sake.
Turtleback Map
Adding cost would be good. With the key could be a small bag of gems. I would hope that would be enough of a hint that hey would get the point.
Use the key and an opening appears for the gems to go into. Drop in the gems and the map activates showing the one operating landing zone left in Thistletop. If it works out well maybe I could have them find and repair or activate other landing zones within the old borders.
Also this handles a lot of the road trip and ties the different locations together. Also another way for Karzoug to learn who the heros are.

I keep worrying about how the third book has no real reason for the players to want to possess Fort Rannick. It's far away and actually draws them away from Sandpoint.
I was considering putting a magical ring near or on the skull crossing that would fly users quickly to one of Karzoug's giant statues. The key to activating the ring would be in the lower section of the dam. The only location still active would be the head at Thistletop.
When the key is brought to the ring it begins to hum. A transmutation spell cast and lights flicker upon the surface then most blink out revealing the surviving statue. The whole ring would detect strong transmutation magic. Stepping onto the light suddenly launches those within the ring through the air at a frightening speed and height to safely land on Thistletop.
I would like some advice on if this is a good connection for the PCs to want to take the fort as their own in hopes to protect this vital way of traversing vast distances quickly. I understand it could drastically change things in Fortress of the Stone Giants since they could maneuver cross country easier.
Not sure but never thought the turtle shells would be big enough for more than a few people to ride on them and ferry them around the lake and across the rivers. I mean even if it was a colossal sized giant snapping turtle (Tome of Horrors pg 435) it wouldn't have a shell big enough to carry more than a few paying customers and their cargo and horses. I would keep it simple and backwood style with rough construction. Of corse I keep seeing problems with this book anyhow so nothing new here.

I for one thing have DM'd players that seem to spring into the hay for a roll with whatever is sitting in the bar. I find it getting into it means too much of one player hogging the table. If I deal with it then again it is monopolizing the table. Yes, mu opinion is the cleric should consider changing which kinda girl she wants to follow but I would make sure to keep the table time to a minimum unless the problems can drag the whole party into his mess.
As far as the Love Lust subject that has popped up. This is not going to be resolved on a message board by a bunch of geeks, let alone our best philosophers through time. Society's views on everything changes constantly, as with anything that is ruled by perception. Your view will never match mine or anyone else's since we all have had different lives and DNA. Morality is absolutely not an absolute!

Oh the dilemmas of subscriptions. Cosmo, when will we need to choose if we are going to continue with our subscriptions into Crimson Throne or not? In other words when is Crimson Throne scheduled for release? Are there benefits beyond the pdf and lower price for being on the ground floor with Crimson Throne?
I feel like Rise of the Runelords will keep my players busy for the next year.
Russell
What does happen after the last Rise of the Runelords does it just automatically go to the next Chrimson Throne?
Perhaps the Scarnetti family could promise to bring in new glass artisans in return for a low price for the business and tax breaks. As far as the daughter taking over the business goes just look at what crimes her family has been involved in. Can you trust such morally questionable people to run one of the most important parts of Sandpoint. Better to let her run her tavern and trust a more respected family that has stepped up to provide for the town even though their good name is often scandalized with rumors. The Scaretti's are willing to take on the responsibilities for the good of Sandpoint.
Would this work for his sketches of Nualia?

You all have inspired me to have some fun with Turtleback. Since there is a combat and other encounters there I think a map is in order. So here is Turtleback population 400 on the shore of the Stoval River. Not a combat map per say but you can use it to plan one.

You mean I'm not suppose to use the first encounter goblins to kill off their PCs in a bloodbath of violence and hate in the final scene? Well guess I have to rework all of my plans then.

It would be nice if there was things for players to buy. Being the judge I enjoy the Runelord stuff but what could my players buy for their PCs?
Rustle
Yeah, I went to bed thinking of how to do it.
I pictured scanning the maps into photoshop and scaling them up to 1" per square. Put a top layer of black covering all the non map areas and put a black background behind it all. Separating the map in to layers with one room per layer so you can show rooms as the players enter them. Then right above the background layer of black make all the map layers masked by a 8" circle of light surrounded by the 50% opacity area that extends out twice as far. Then as the torch carrier moves the GM can move the light source mask.
Oh how wonderfully geeky. Now I just have to talk the wife into either the projector or the big screen monitor.
Rustle
No don't print them, do like I do. Take your big computer monitor and gently lay it face up on four rolls of toilet paper for legs and use it as a game board. Just make sure you have felt on the bottom of all your figs, or you'll have a beach of a time getting the scratches out. Then just open the pdf of the adventure and zoom in until it becomes to scale. Now you can just scroll the direction the party is traveling. Works really well when the whole group is reduced to 1/12 there normal size by an exploding rod of wonder too.
Wouldn't be so geeky if someone actually did that?

Love the way the road outside the walls just runs off the cliff on the right hand side of the map. They call that the feather fall road.

I can't understand the excitement about 4e and it's release. I think it will be a good day for those games still using the 3.5 rules for their mechanics. Instead of 4th edition it should be called Dungeons and Dragons Lite where players can argue over it being less filling or taste great. The rest of us will be playing a role playing game not a psudo computer game.
Why do they keep pushing the "Lavish Artwork"? If you want good art go to a museum if you want to game read the rules. I never saw anything useful in 90% of the drawings in the books' illustrations. Who cares what they think a monk should look or the strip... sorceress and her nor to useful outfit.

I have seen mention in the adventures of day names like Oathday but wondered where there was a list of day names, months, and seasons for the world. I may have overlooked them in the books but have not found them yet.
Russell
I was waffling back and forth about 4.0 but the direction I am solidly heading now is stay away from 4e. WOTC is most certainly going to dumb it down for the card playing/button pushing crowds out there. The problem I have is I've tasted a living Campaign with Living Greyhawk and don't want to go back to the home game. I like the 4 hour slots and the flexibility of having a stable of players to draw apon to fill a party for an evenings gaming fun. So Pathfinder might just be the option I am looking for. Do you think there would be a living campaign aspect to it where players could network for gaming oportunities?
