Hooray! Nobody hit the gnome! Hooray for non-threatening support characters! Yay!
Rurin giggles and winks at Nilgaar, then looks up at his massive ally, moving quickly behind him (to H8) and casts a healing spell upon Vanin. Sacrificing entropic shield for a cure light wounds. I need someone to roll the healing on Vanin for me, but since I have the Healing domain, the amount restored is 1d8+3. Thanks!

Nilgaar wrote: Here's the roll for Rurin. I entered a damage value as well, though it won't come in to play. 1d20+5=15, 1d2+1=2 Touch attack succeeds vs. Garash's 14 touch AC. Now I make a STR check opposed by Garash's STR or DEX, whichever is higher. I have a -4 for being Small.
Since I'm home now, I can roll for myself again: 1d20-3=6. Hm. Well, I don't think Garash can lose this unless he rolls a natural 1. Oh well, I tried. :) If he succeeds (and I expect he will), I will drop the whip to avoid being tripped in return.
Garash Gnarlwood wrote: ...keeping an eye out for the sneaky short 'un. Sneaky? I'm wearing heavy armor, dude!
Rurin chuckles and advances (moving to J9), drawing his whip as he advances and lashes out at the orc, attempting to yank him off his feet. Whip has 15' reach and can be used to trip. I need someone with Invisible Castle access to roll for me, bearing in mind my +1 to hit for inspire courage (total should be +5 melee vs. Garash's touch AC). I will drop the whip to avoid being tripped if I lose the opposed roll.

Garash Gnarlwood wrote: ie, it's Rurin's turn. D'oh! So it is! Sorry, fell asleep at the wheel... Rurin ceases his bolstering cheer and steps forward to intone a spell upon the druid's wolf. 5-foot-step to I11 and cast cause fear on Bitey. DC 13 Will save or run in terror. My inspire courage will persist for 5 more rounds. Garash is my new Dodge target.
Moving to H12 to clear the path to Garesh and Bitey for my meleeing companions...
"Take heart, friends! We have turned the tide of battle! This day shall be ours! Let our enemies fall before us! Hyaaaa!"
Drawing a javelin as part of the move action and using a standard action to begin inspire courage. My allies receive +1 on attack rolls, damage rolls, and saves vs. fear. The effect continues as long as I continue speaking and for 5 rounds afterwards. You're welcome, team. Go get 'em! :)
The effect should be centered on the intersection of G-H 7-8 and should encompass everyone... 50' is 10 squares in each direction. 10 squares should take the spell all the way down to R 7-8, encompassing Jathali entirely. Garash might be safe though. It's hard to tell exactly...
Declaring the centipede right next to me as my Dodge target, raising AC to 24 against it.
Rurin grins wickedly, hopping over the wall and moving directly across the centipede's line of vision, raising his shield to deflect the attacks while fishing out a scroll with his free hand. Moving to G8 and drawing a scroll as part of the move. Take your AoO, centipede! I've got Mobility! AC is 28. :P
Rurin stops to read the scroll when he passes beyond the centipede.
Arena Master:
Rurin frowns, pulling another scroll from his pack and intoning it upon Vanin once more.
Yet another scroll of CLW on Vanin: 1d8+1=7. Much better this time.
False Arenamaster wrote: Rurin fails to intone the words to their full effect. 1d8+1=2
Vanin is healed of 2 damage.
Suckage. At least I tried! Also, Spartacus is my Dodge target, making my AC against him 26 (not including cover, which I guess would make it 30).
The gnome's eyes widen as Vanin takes the mighty blow and he quickly scoops into his scroll case and steps over to his wounded ally, making use of the item to restore his health.
5-foot-step to D9, drawing the scroll of CLW and casting it on Vanin. Someone will have to roll the healing total for me as Invisible Castle is blocked at work for me. :(
False Arenamaster wrote: Please repost Rurin, the website ate your post..... I was just saying that the spell description for Longstrider says it increases my base speed, not my total speed. My base speed is 20 ft, Longstrider increases it to 30 ft., and then the heavy armor listing for a 30 ft. speed creature is 20 ft. However, if you say my speed is 25 ft., I'll take it!
False Arenamaster wrote: Your speed would be 25feet, longstrider adds 10' speed to your 15' of speed. Well, the spell description says it increases your base speed by 10 ft, which I took to mean it improves my normal speed of 20 ft. to become 30 ft. If my base speed is 30 ft., then heavy armor brings me back down to 20 ft. (instead of 15 ft.). However, if you say my speed is 25 ft., then so be it!
The gnome intones a spell upon himself with a cheerful, sing-song voice and moves to seek cover.
Mounted Combat can only be used to negate damage to the mount, not the rider. Basically, you make a Ride check whenever an attack is directed at your mount. Your Ride check result becomes the mount's AC for that attack only. Mounted Combat doesn't protect the rider at all.
Still waiting on an answer as to whether or not I can occupy the spaces in D8 or D9 and still benefit from cover...
Okay, assuming that Steve's assessment is correct, I shall act to further the game.
Okay, before I act, does this count as round ONE or round TWO? If the doors aren't going to close and DQ me at the end of this round, I'm going to spend some more time back here on my way out. If they ARE going to close this round, then I need to make my exit now, which alters my strategy significantly. All of this is moot, however, if I can take cover in square C9. I realize that that square CONTAINS the sandbag wall, but is there enough room there that I can occupy the space and still benefit from cover?
Since I'm a Small creature, can I use the sandbag walls as full cover instead of just +4 cover bonus to AC?

I can't access Invisible Castle from work, but if you want to roll Init for me...
Rurin pops the top of a potion and chugs it down before the doors swing open, smiling cheerfully and preparing for the showdown.
