Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)
Black Tom!!! It's good to hear from you! It sounds like you have traveled quite the road since we last heard from you - I'm sorry it hasn't been necessarily smooth (I'm not sure how many worthwhile roads really are) but it sounds like you are coming out the other end in good shape. Best of luck in your new adventures! I would love to join your new game, but I need to think about it. I already have many games on my plate and I think these folks can tell you I don't always do them justice. I haven't gotten far into a Mummy's Mask game, though... The solitary attempt was ended before we had gotten to the fourth room, I think, do to changing life circumstances for the DM. Thinking...

Roylenna claps in recognition and floats up in her excitement. The holy fire dances on her fingertips as Ka'kara describes it. A touch of sadness is obvious at the loss of Rana, but she smiles at mentions of the others as the tale is shared. Intimidate Aid Another: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)
The pale halfling mows into the vegetables with an appetite that belies her tiny size. Without a thought, she accepts some of the wine, downs it with a gulp and sits up, ram-rod straight, eyes wide. Looking at the glass for a long moment, she flags down a waiter for a refill and returns to gnawing on a carrot. Fortitude: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23 When the Fabler's completed his performance, she floats up out of her chair, disregarding other potential singers, and sings a song of springtime, full of references to sunlight, flowers, and butterflies. Perform (sing): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 Once done, she spirals down into her chair and takes another drink of the wine, looking expectantly at the half-orc with the silver tongue. Can he sing, too?
Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)
Roylenna is unaware of the host's displeasure and continues to enjoy the moment. She looks at the worm and wonders to herself if they have smaller ones for someone with a small mouth. She decides probably not, and picks up the wriggler and looks at her sister. Seeing her chew with gusto, the halfling tries the same, but the worm explodes from her lips and she is covered with worm guts from her chin to her waist. With a minor casting, she cleans herself. Waving down a waiter, she requests a new worm and nods firmly to herself. I will get it right this time.
Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)
Roylenna almost squeals in delight when she realizes the wide array of cutlery is sized for halfling. She touches and examines each one with some wonder, putting them back carefully each time before looking around, eyes bright as usual. Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14 Diplomacy: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 Clueless in more ways than one, the diminutive spellcaster chats with her neighbors about all the events of the night. She catches her sister's eye at one point and gives her a little shrug, I don't know, either!
Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)
The halfling floats up to conversational height, but doesn't bother with the long skirt anymore - apparently, people didn't think much of her little joke. She works her way around until she is near the Merchantmaster Mahuudril. "Oh, I wanted to tell you that I love what you did with your hair! I'm afraid I'm quite taken by elaborate hairstyles. Did you do this grand work yourself?"
Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)
Frowning, the tiny woman floats back up to eye level with the barbarian princess. "Nobody told me about gifts. I got an invitation for the two of us by name saying where to be and to wear the finest we could find." But with a sly smile, she adds, "But a little bird told me that a function of this type might require a little something." She shakes her left hand, drawing attention to a silver bracelet with two tiny charms. "Remember this?" When it is their turn to present their gift, Roylenna sinks down to the ground and works a little magic to turn the full-length (for a human) skirt into grass-skimming length for her tiny frame. Taking the much taller woman's hand in hers, she pulls her forward. When they reach a respectful distance, she tugs down on Ka'kara's hand as she curtsies to the guest of honor. "Thank you for the wonderful party, Lord Sessestophelzine, and the invitation to attend. It was quite unexpected for both of us. I am Roylenna Brenoien and my sister-friend is Ka'kara Furyheart. We are travelers blessed with lives of excitement, but I fear our wealth is limited. What we earn is often quickly used to heal the injured, repair the broken, or aid the afflicted. Truly, our gifts are usually limited to tales of the roads we've seen, shared around a campfire." Looking around, she adds, "That hardly seems appropriate in the current company. I am sure that one as powerful as yourself can afford to have made anything we might possess, but I hope you will accept this small token of our gratitude." She slips a charm bracelet from her left wrist. The silver chain is adorned by two pair of charms, silver and diamond. Cupping it in both hands, she rises just high enough to comfortably hand it to the mage (or whoever is receiving it) without him having to stoop to reach it. "The gemstones are of no consequence. I merely added them because it looked like it was missing something with only two tiny charms.
"Please accept this token of our esteem. I have keyed the charms to Ka'kara and myself, but you can easily change them to someone more to your liking." She points, "I'm the little one, naturally." She carefully avoids meeting the barbarian woman's eyes - I knew I forgot something. I was going to warn her about that last part. Bluff (story-telling): 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (1) + 19 = 20

Pretending to be miffed, Roylenna floats back up to a more human height as soon as she is released, only to be grabbed by the half-elf she sought. Now laughing, she hugs both of them back. Released, she draws forth a mirror. With a word, it floats out of her hand to allow her to see as she touches up her towering hair. "Yes, it was necessary. It is absolutely stunning. And you! Sandros! I was not sure we would ever see you again. In person, anyway." She gives a little smile at that. "It is good to see you safe in the flesh. With Ka'kara around, I'm always safe. Oh, and my ancestors have gifted me with a surprise or two since we parted, so I can keep her safe, too."
Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)
A very delicate-featured young woman with a floating gait and a very-high-waisted dress floats through the crowd charming nearly everyone she meets. There is a definite twinkle in her eye as she visits with other party-goers and piled high upon her head is a coiffure of pale hair that surely must be held in place by magic - that bejeweled netting could not possibly have the strength... It must be two feet tall! Suddenly, she stops and squeals in obvious delight at the sight of a half-elf that has just arrived and she moves across the way so smoothly that an observer would think she was literally flying.

AinvarG - Yes, leaning toward chameleon rogue
So, it looks like Arcane caster 1, maybe 2^
*will have to see how Mark Thomas 66' character shapes up
With seven or eight characters, 'need' will look different than a standard party, but we do appear to be light on healers currently. If anyone is considering a build with a healing option, it might help.

Kevin Mack, it's up to you and Shisumo, but I trust you to keep player and character knowledge separate. So, it looks like Arcane caster 1

AinvarG - Yes, inquisitor? rogue?
Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)
Oh, and AinvarG - Yes, undecided
And I just PM'd Mark Thomas 66 since I realized I had overlooked his avatar. I think that's everyone. I'm open to about anything, but I am inclined to go with a class I have not tried yet. Maybe Inquisitor - I will have to look at the class closer, but my tabletop game has one and they seem to enjoy it. EDIT: I'm slow - Mark Thomas 66 replied before I posted. LOL.
Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)
Looking at the Player's Guide, it doesn't have as much guidance for different classes as I'm used to seeing. Does anyone have any insight into what classes work particularly well? Or more importantly, work particularly poorly? So far, we have four definite yes's, one an arcanist. Might as well start keeping track now.

I know the feeling about spending so much time with people on the boards but knowing next to nothing about them. It's an odd situation. I guess I should amend my earlier remarks about dropping a game from my dance card. If someone wants to start a new game for the gang, I'd be open to that. As you have probably noticed, I'm generally a pretty prolific poster, but my organizational skills lack some, well, organization, so I hesitate to try to DM for a crowd. (I am running one PBP for guys that I sit at the table, but that's only reinforced for me that I really don't have the chops to do a great job at it.) So if someone else wanted to give being a DM a try, I would be a friendly tester. I am not as interested in Whiterock purely because I have been in the 'second group' in a number of games already and the 'second group' experiment always seems to be short-lived. That said, if the gang wants to take this on as a group, I'd be willing to join in, too. Just because we have good chemistry.

*gasp* You are right! I had not realized that yet! Um... OK... if you need someone to jump in to the LoF campaign, I'm there, just because you are in it. (I have a slot open on my dance card!) You are always welcome to PM me. Perhaps I will have to find out your physical location someday - I've been through your general region twice in the last two years because we love the parks out that-a-way...
Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)
Does the spirit have reach? Both Lyria and Roylenna moved back, so I'm wondering if it moved (possibly provoking) or if it just reached past Ka'kara to strike us. Roylenna uses her Heavenly Fire to staunch Lyria's bleeding. "Call on your god to put the spirit to rest, Lyria!" Heavenly Fire: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 She then retreats as far as possible (up to 20') while maintaining line of sight on the spirit.
Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)
Roylenna, alarmed by the spirit's effect on the healers, draws back and unleashes a rays of her own. Scorching Ray: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Scorching Ray: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)
Decisions, decisions. Reading the Magic Circle spell, I don't think it would have the desired effect. Roylenna casts Scorching Ray on the two wights in the lead. First Ray, touch attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17 including +1 from PBS
Second Ray, touch attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11 including +1 from PBS
Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)
Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19 So would she be able to tell if this was cast as we approached or if it was a trap? Trying to see if she expects that there is a spellcaster near or not. How wide is the hallway we are approaching through? Debating a Magic Circle against Evil to plug the hallway...
Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)
Squinting to try to see whatever assaults her sister, Roylenna asks, "What sort of creature is this killer?" Unless having the name allows her a second try at the Spellcraft check, in which case: Spellcraft second try: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20 Does she know anything about the spell?
Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)
Roylenna turns and fixes her 'sister' with an uncharacteristically stern look. "The rest of you go to the tomb. Ka'kara and I need a moment in private and will catch up." Those who look back see the tiny woman staring up at the barbarian princess, arms folded across her chest. Whatever she is saying, she is saying with some intensity. Ka'kara: "You know I love you like a sister. And I know you better than most. I know what you are thinking and Gregori's death was not your fault any more than it was your sword's. That demon used you as a weapon against Gregori. The spell I fell prey to caused me to attack Lyria - I could have killed her with my spell, but that would not have been my fault, either. We must help these people and in exchange they will give us Gregori back. We need a warrior at our side, not a guilt-ridden princess. Gregori is not going anywhere and we will get him when we return. Now come on! The others are getting ahead of us."
Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)
You could just pipe up - "I would aid you in your mission. After seeing what these monsters did to these poor people, I would like to bring some cleansing flame to them." Or something appropriate for Lasair's personality. You are right, though - Roylenna has not noticed that you have joined us yet...
Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)
"Oh, no! How much lead do they have? Wait! Um, where are the Bone Hills? We are not from around here." She shrugs from her seat in the dirt. Standing, she brushes dust from her clothes. "Father, our friend was slain in a fight with a demon and he would be of great help recovering this Hand of Gol. We were actually sent here because someone thought you could restore him to life.". She leaves the request unstated, the hope in her eyes clear. Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Female Halfling Sorcerer (celestial)
Roylenna plops down directly in front of the priest, listening. Legs crossed, elbows on her knees, head in her hands, she looked even more like a schoolchild than normal. Suddenly, she looks around for the popcorn vendor and sizes up her sister to see if she will buy this time.
