Scion of Humanity: Some aasimars’ heavenly ancestry is extremely distant. An aasimar with this racial trait counts as an outsider (native) and a humanoid (human) for any effect related to race, including feat prerequisites and spells that affect humanoids. She can pass for human without using the Disguise skill. This racial trait replaces the Celestial language and alters the native subtype.

Halo: Some aasimars possess the ability to manifest halos. An aasimar with this racial trait can create light centered on her head at will as a spell-like ability. When using her halo, she gains a +2 circumstance bonus on Intimidate checks against evil creatures and on saving throws against becoming blinded or dazzled. This racial trait replaces the darkvision racial trait. [/spoiler]
Human FCB: +1 spell of the second-highest level available (3 0-level, 2 1st level)

Background:

Sorry it's so long. If you want the basics: Human girl, loves to wander, finds a dragon, befriends it, it teaches her magic and all kinds of things, evil wizard comes and kills dragon. She tries to protect dragon, dies. Shelyn brings her back to life as an Aasimar, grants power of magic. Girl finds home has been destroyed, goes to fight against evil.

Rixa was born as a human girl in the Varisian countryside with the name of Anka, and was charming, intelligent, and had a beautiful singing voice even from a young age. Her home was a small, nameless village, located at the edge of Sanos forest, near Hook Mountain. She was adventurous and bold even as a little girl, and was always getting in trouble, much to the exasperation of her parents. She had a wonderful childhood, full of adventure, exploration, and running around getting dirty with the boys (she never related that well to the girls). However, she soon grew bored with even the boys, as they wished to stay close to home, and soon took to venturing, on her own, far into the wilderness on a regular basis.

She would frequently vanish for days at a time, which worried her parents the first few times, but after several ventures far from home, and when she always returned home unharmed, they stopped panicking every time she didn’t come home at night. Anka was simply destined to be a wanderer, they realized, and Desna protects her own. When she was 10, she ventured a bit too far away from home on one of her explorations, and stumbled across a dragon lair, home to an ancient celestial gold dragon named Rixatil. The dragon, curious about the tiny human who had found his lair, asked Anka (Who was hiding, breathless and terrified, behind a corner. She’s adventurous, not stupid) to show her herself, he wouldn’t harm her. She presented herself before the enormous dragon, introducing herself with the confidence and charm that she carries to this day. Sensing talent within the girl, he asked for Anka to sing him a song. The amount of talent the young girl displayed amazed the dragon, who had never seen such talent in one so young. He offered her a deal, that she would visit him once in a while and treat him to a song, to help him with his boredom, as the weight of ages bore heavily on him, and he would teach her whatever her heart desired. She accepted, and over the next few years, visited the dragon regularly, frequently visiting him for days at a time, enraptured by the wisdom and intelligence of the great wyrm as he told her stories unheard for eons, taught her secrets forgotten for centuries, and taught her the pure knowledge of magic itself, though she was unable to cast any spells of her own.

One day, while Anka was visiting her friend, an evil wizard found his way Rixatil’s lair, coming to claim an artifact the dragon held. Anka moved to protect her friend, only to be blown aside effortlessly and callously as the wizard laughed, killing her instantly.

Once she died, she had a vision of Shelyn reaching down to her and pulling her into the skies. As they walked the heavens, the goddess told her that her time had not yet come, and there would be a time when her bravery, cunning, and skill would be needed, in the very near future. But to do what she had to, Anka would need help, and be even stronger.

Anka woke some time later, lying on the floor of Rixatil’s lair, changed. Her hair was now a sky blue color, and had eyes the color of the night sky. Her best friend, the dragon who had taught her so much, was lying dead not far from her, having died as he tried to get to the little girl he loved so much. As she wept over the dragon’s fallen form, something unusual happened, and Rixatil’s form dissolved into starlight, rushing into Anka and filling her with incredible strength and might, unlocking the final mystery of the knowledge of magic. She vowed revenge on the dark wizard who had killed such a gentle soul, and returned home, only to find it in ruins. It seemed as though the wizard, after killing both Anka and Rixatil, decided, on a cruel whim, decided to butcher Anka’s family (how, exactly, the wizard knew where she lived is a question Anka has never found the answer to, nor does she know for certain that it was the wizard that destroyed her home, though the attack was obviously magical). Having lost everything so suddenly, the aasimar simply collapsed, weeping openly amidst the destruction. She likely would have died there, whether of starvation, exposure, or attack, had Shelyn not completed her gift, sending a vision of Rixatil consoling the young girl and encouraging her to take up arms and fight for beauty and righeousness.
Eventually, the girl stood. But she was no longer Anka. That girl, she decided, was dead. There was nothing left for that girl. Her home was gone, her family and best friend were dead, and she no longer looked the same as she once did. Instead, she took the name of the old dragon she had loved so dearly, and had died trying to protect.
Swearing vengeance, and vowing she would never let another friend die, Rixa roamed the land, purging evil wherever she could find it, listening as Desna led her from place to place, learning more and more magic, growing to be a strong and powerful warrior and following her heart to bring joy and relief to good people everywhere. While still carefree and a wanderer at heart, good-natured and kind, her ruthless tactics while fighting and willingness to intimidate may one day cause her to fall, but she saves her wrath for those who truly have deserved it, and never lashes out against the innocent. However, she is still new to the world is sometimes taken aback by what she finds, wanting to see the best in people. However, anyone who tries to take advantage of her inexperience rarely has time to celebrate their victory.

She considers herself a new person now, saying that she was born an aasimar (though she admittedly doesn’t know what that is, nor that she is one), which she considers to be true. If she wants to be literally true as well, she’ll say she has been an aasimar her entire life. While she isn’t fully aware of her power, she knows that it was Shelyn who gave her the power to command the Arcane Tongue, just as it was Rixatil who taught it to her.

Unbeknownst to Rixa, the wizard did not actually destroy her home simply to spite her. He had no incentive to do so, nor did he know that is was her home. Rather, it was where the occult artifact the wizard was hunting actually was kept, hidden in a secret vault deep under the town’s shrine to Desna. (This is what gave Rixa her native, psychic, sorcerous talent, though that was admittedly dormant until after her death) Rixatil was the town’s guardian. Who the wizard was, what the artifact was, and what he’s been doing with it, I leave to you as a story hook. Take or leave it as you like.

Impressions:

Rixa is a beautiful girl, with hair the color of the noontime sky, and eyes the color of midnight (not black, but deep and dark purple). She stands tall and slender, her voice musical, her breath a song, and her laughter a melody. She’s frequently mistaken to be a bard, and are frequently in for a surprise when she blasts them with arcane might. While still a beginner, she’s proven adept with a flame, and her magical charms leave enemies helpless. She has no compunction about killing the wicked- in her mind, their lives were forfeit from the day they first killed. She will use any tool at her disposal in her righteous wrath, and her allies will frequently be shocked when the boisterous, carefree, easygoing girl they’ve come to known turns into a hardened warrior with ruthless tactics. She’s lost too much, she says, to lose it all again. She will do whatever she has to in order to protect those she loves. However, she's prone to change her mind or her attitude in an instant, and loves a challenge.

At times when calm, excited, or embarrassed, Rixa will seem to glow, visibly shining light from her skin. When in moonlight, her hair transforms into something looking like spun silver.

However, when aggravated, a spinning halo of fire appears over her head, her eyes glow with holy fire, and her voice becomes powerful and commanding.

Most of the time, she'll be wearing blue-colored robes. However, whenever expecting trouble, she wears a gilded breastplate depicting Shelyn's holy symbol. However, she is never found without her sword, which appears almost too big for the slender woman to carry, however her strength is evident in her incredible muscle tone for those looking.

[ooc]Note: All “unusual” features come from Blood of Angels, specifically the “Random Aasimar Features” table, which is specified to not have additional in-game effects. I thought it would be a cool way to convey her truly different self (resurrected by Shelyn herself after dying in a futile attempt to protect a great wyrm she had befriended, learning ancient words of magic, empowered by the magic of the aforementioned great wyrm…. Yeah… I might have overdone it a little, but it all stems from her courage and loyalty to her friends, which is pretty much the “core” of the character. ooc]

Explanations:

While I put in a bit of my thinking as I went along, this section explains my reasoning as I worked through the character. Everything (and I do mean everything) has a good, in-world reason for why it is that way. And here’s where you find out how!

Class:
Rixa’s unique spellcasting comes from a unique background. While Rixatil taught her the ancient language of magic, she never could command the world with the words like the old dragon could (who was unimaginably old, and a servant of Desna himself). However, after her death and reincarnation, Desna gave much of the dragon’s power to Rixa, giving her the dragon's holiness, in addition to unlocking her native magical talent. The psychic bloodline is actually her native power (she would have discovered it eventually) and came from the occult energy “seeping” from a nearby ancient artifact (feel free to take or leave this as a plot hook, not specifying what it is or anything else beyond it’s powerful).

Race:
Well, you were allowing aasimars, and I really like them, so that’s the OOC explanation. However, the rest actually came about after writing her backstory.
She’s Lawbringer because of Shelyn. When Shelyn revived her and endowed her with power, she gave Rixa a shard of celestial essence from the Rixatil the celestial dragon himself, which, as a LG creature, that was the quintessence she infused into the girl, giving her the Archon blood that still runs through her veins. This is also the reason she is a Scion of Humanity. Because she was born human, and only recently got her shard of divinity, much of her humanity still remains.

Traits:
Reactionary is a bleed-over from her draconic power. Like a dragon, she's quick to react and snap at danger. Her Intense Artist is representative of her native singing talent, which was partially a blessing from Shelyn at first, but is also raw ability. Naïve comes from her lack of worldly experience and her constant desire to see the best in people, which can sometimes catch her off guard. Giant hunter…. Is the closest I could come to something that made sense. I figure that in the few years she's been defending random Varisian towns and fighting back against evil, she's gotten at least a little practice in against giants.
