"Well who says it's a goblin at all?" Rilo blurts out, quickly he jots down a thing or two in his journal. Rilo chuckles to himself slightly "How profound a story that would be eh?! some sorcerer or what have you taking control of wee goblins!" gestures a height with his right hand and grins for a moment before realizing the seriousness in the room and smiling again to Shalelu. "Erm, I mean..it's just a thought really."

Sits outside on the white deer inn, looking around the town and trying to draw some inspiration for writing when he sees kenzo and puts his parchment away. "Hail kenzo, have you seen any of the others yet?" Rilo says, pulling himself to his feet

Rilo imagines that with the trumpets and drums still going, all must be well but still continues forward to aid the group, if needed.

Rilo was writing on some paper when he heard all the commotion, he dropped his pen quickly from being startled and rather than finding it he readied himself for battle..not sure of what was against him.

Rilo snaps awake, spending little time the night before sleeping. He quickly looks around realizing how careless he was to have let himself doze off.

Rilo also choose another chestnut horse, resting his hand on her for a few moments "Hello Ambellina."

she is affectionate, yet slightly temperamental at times

"spears? maybe we should get some equipment eh?"

" 'spose that wouldn't be a bad idea, I'm sure we would enjoy it..that is if the town here doesn't need more help from us."

err. scratch that, read it wrong lol. I was tired? "Oh now, we just did what we needed to. Remember we were in the town too.. whatever was happening was bound to happen to us as well!" rilo looks at the group around him wondering of their responses to being called heroes.

" 'spose that wouldn't be a bad idea, I'm sure we would enjoy it..that is if the town here doesn't need more help from us."

"If you wouldn't mind my potentially using some of the events that occur, with names change or what have you of course..I wouldn't mind helping myself." I say as I hold tightly on to a pen tucked away in my pocket, not even sure where to begin taking notes.

"I've heard of goblins stealing odd things before..but never a body..I thought they opted for shiny things?" has a slight chuckle in his tone but quickly catches himself and becomes serious.

Rilo looks back at the girls, completely oblivious for a few moments as to where he was walking. Rilo enjoys the ceremony as much as possible though, he still maintains his guard the entire time. Not that he had much confidence that he and his comrades could deal with another batch of goblins.

Rilo had a slightly bad feeling about what he was about to be shown, much like the bad feeling he got from the gold coin. He was able to shrug it off however, also much like the gold coin.

Rilo Decides wakes up slightly early and heads down to have breakfast, hoping to see his friend kenzo in better shape.. he tries to be as social as possible though still shaken from the events of the night before. Rilo usually keeps a happy exterior in the company of others, joking and smiling as much as possible.

After breakfast he walks around town, trying to see what the damage from the attack is.

Rilo follows along with his new friends, keeping worry over kenzo's condition. "Heroes of sandpoint eh? that doesn't sound too bad". Rilo looks on as the girl throws her arms around eugen "Oh sure, he gets the girl" he thinks to himself. Looks away from this and to Aldern, "Of course, we should get kenzo to a place where he can rest first though."

Rilo moves to finish off the goblin he had just attacked "hang on kenzo!"

Hi. Good to have you back. Two points about your move... 1) if you move to [G,13] before attacking you will be across from Kenzo and therefore flanking. You'll get 1d6 extra damage from sneak attack (and +2 to hit from flanking). 2) A 19 with a dagger is a potential critical. You need to roll to confirm the critical.

hey! sorry so much guys, got really busy with rl stuff, work and the like. Let me catch up on where we are in the battle and then I'll post

Rilo notices his friend in pain and becomes furious at the mounted goblin

Looks down at his dagger and then towards the mounted goblin with the polearm. "Oh that's terrific." Rilo hopes to join the attack on the mounted goblin, successfully at that.

Clearly not rilo's night for attacking, who's gonna bail me out of this one? :P

Rilo charges with eugen but takes a different path, heading right for another goblin just beyond the newly screeching one.
1d20=4 -1 +2= 5

At the moment he is upon him he notices the goblin turning

Initiative roll (1d20+3=14)

Rilo looks in the direction of the cry and tightens his grip on his dagger

"Well then, we should get a move on eh? that doesn't sound like a voice that wants to wait"

Thinks to himself: "would you listen to yourself, charging into battle against goblins for strangers eh? not your normal self today"

He looks down at the goblin he has tied up and mumbles to himself, "Not a usual day for me by far."

Rilo looks to the others and back at the goblin that is now tied up

"well I personally would rather not hang out with this stench anymore, but if there are more to fight we should probably take care of them while we've still got the energy"

Rilo hesitantly ties up the goblin, but he does so to keep his new friend appeased in the somewhat dire situation. "I'm not sure if this is a great idea, what if his friends come to save him?"

Rilo growls slightly at the goblin while making his next attack at the goblin, "You'll not live to share that revenge story with your ugly pals!"

*snaps out of his confusion and attacks the goblin in front of him.

"I hope we'll get our rooms and food free for this!"

Hey fellas! sorry about the delay, computer went a little screwy on me+holidays I'm back now though! also wasn't sure what the goblin closest to me was for the attack roll so I rolled dmg just in case I have a map but im still a little lost jumping back in like this

Rilo looks around at his friends and decides that he is more effective to move with the group than against it, so he moves to pair up with his kenzo

"What's the plan guys?" Rilo looks over at the flames

Rilo turns and sees his friend kenzo fighting another goblin and charges it. "you'll owe me a drink for this one!" he says towards kenzo

Now that the goblin is seemingly distracted by the other swordsman Rilo tries to attack the goblin once more "How many men does it take to kill a goblin?" he half-chuckles to the other man just before he takes his swing.

Rilo decides to brave up and head for the goblin by the wagon before it turns its sight on another more helpless victim than rilo. 'what a great story this will be' he thinks to himself while he charges the goblin

Totally new to combat obviously but I'm hoping this is good
Rilo notices Kenzo's charge towards the jeweler goblin and turns his attention to the goblin under the wagon and draws his dagger from his pocketed scarf move action yes?

Rilo has enjoyed his day meandering around the festival grounds, spending a percentage of the day trying to impress some of the town girls with his tales..embellished or not, another percent hoping to not run into their respective fathers, and the majority of it hanging out with his new friend Kenzo and sampling the fine foods.

"Town seems pretty big on speeches eh? Not a very good view from back here.. though.." Rilo's attention gets caught by a local girl heading towards the crowd. "I could get into a lot of trouble in this town, stories I probably couldn't write about." Rilo lets out a slight chuckle and looks back towards the stage.

Rilo is checking his scarf pockets before he hears the noises and suddenly has his attention stolen again.

Throughout the night Rilo kept taking notes about the stories that his new friend Kenzo had told him about, it was a common habit for him to write things and try to find himself some use of the information or some transformation into a story or character. yet, after a while he just began to enjoy the company and conversation of the night.

Prying himself up from his bed and wrapping his scarf around his neck after getting dressed with a type of manner that almost convinced himself that he was awake and ready for the day he set out for the festival grounds.

"Oh why hello my friend Kenzo! how did your beauty rest treat you? I'm not sure I got enough of it but perhaps something at the festival will wake me up, be it food or some pretty lady." he thinks for a moment "possibly both" rilo lets out a chuckle and checks his pockets for his quill and parchment "Mind if I join you?"

"That seems to be a good deal, can never complain about not having mice as well. I'll take it, I can pay you for ten days now and try to find some work in the meantime. I do plan on staying in town for a while;I am sort of a locksmith you see, more so an aspiring writer looking for inspiration but any work I can get I'll take." Rilo says to the man.

For a few moments rilo wonders to himself why such an offer would be made but quickly snaps out of it at the mention of a meal of venison "Oh a meal of venison sounds wondrous right now! I haven't eaten a decent meal in days."

In his conversation with Kenzo, in my last post, Quint mutters, "Ignorant Portians."

This is the equivalent to "Ignorant Cretans."

The use of cretan as a term is based on the quote "Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons." Attributed to Epimenides and quoted by the apostle Paul, the word has become a part of our vocabulary.

There is of course no Crete in Varisia. Portians thus refers to the citizens of Riddleport, a regular hive of scum and villainry. The phrase "Ignorant Portian" is common to the scholars of Magnimar and southwest Varisia.

Good suggestions - contradictions are bound to come up when six different people are exercising creative license together. That said, I'm enjoying it so far, and it seems like PbP really encourages roleplaying. It's nice to see the focus on the characters as opposed to their classes, and stats & numbers on a piece of paper.

On that note, I've been reading 'Audrey's Eberron' PbP thread (and staying away from the Runelords threads) to get a good feel for mechanics and tricks, and it really does read like a novel or even a screenplay. Among other things, the DM also occassionally takes control of characters for minor conversational points, to keep things going, which I'm okay with, for when the opportunity presents itself.

agreed. I should read that one too, I've been meaning to find one that isn't rorl haha seems to be popular right now, grimmbold manor was pretty good when I read it before.

Rilo joins in with the chuckle, thinking to himself "perhaps one day I shall write about the comedian gatekeeper" He smiles back at the comment and replies "I have no intention of being any harm, you shall not even hear a whisper of my name having to do with troubles I assure you..now tales of my charm I cannot be held accountable for" at this point Rilo is obviously just firing back at the taller guard.

"I am here for the festival, for work if there's need for a locksmith or writer, and for inspiration..I think your lovely town may be just the thing for me to begin a new adventure in ink" Rilo seems a little bit taken back by the sleeping in the streets and begging comments but with his current attire it seems fair so he lets it go. "Of course I have the gold for it. I suppose I'll have a look around at the inns before I make a decision and I'll let you get on with your duties kind sir" Rilo often doesn't know when to shut his mouth and his words can get the better of him, but in circumstance he does pretty well with this guard.

After he finishes his conversation with the guard Rilo heads to the White Deer to grab a meal and possibly speak with Garridan Viskalai about his offer

that's awesome, I'd love to get into dming but that will be down the line haha once I really learn the ropes

Heya, I'm nick I'm 22 from Hollywood,Ca but I currently find myself living in Arizona. I'm new to d&d but I've had lots of experience role playing in various mmorpgs and have always sort of wanted to give this a shot. I'm a musician and a writer ( go figure lol.)

Rilo Quelross brings himself to a stop before the mirror. "ah a little bit of touching up couldn't hurt, how mindful of the town." he says to himself while he tucks his shoulder-length hair behind his head and ties it back. He seems to have a well-kept appearance for someone who has been traveling as much as he has been recently. His clothing is nothing to stand out;wearing a shirt with a vest and scarf, breeches, boots and a backpack, he doesn't command much attention.

He has come to the town hoping for steady work, some celebration, and possibly some adventurous tales to write about. Rilo catches the smells of various foods and finds himself with a new want over inspiration "First things first, I'll have to find myself lodging" rilo thinks to himself as he proceeds to the gate and greets the guards. "Hello there! Rilo Quelross at your service, perhaps you've heard of me or read my works?" The young man knows that they have not with nothing of his writings ever being published but what kind of writer would he be to not promote himself for any lending eyes or ears?

I just finished printing off 4 out of 5 character sheets (the monk obviously not being done) and it struck me... The only one playing a Lawful character is the guy with the creepy evil clown avatar. That doesn't seem quite right :/

Okay. I'm done for tonight.
