"Oh dear. You do seem to have quite the inflated sense of self, now don't you! Keep your communion to yourself along with your enslavement of us. If you have enjoyed our work thus far because it seems to have worked with your own goals then I must say.....good for you. I have no intention of working for you and I assure you that my Regulators are not interested in becoming your slave-pawns." Riese prepares to unleash hell.
"If you wish to continue to watch our work, then do so, but if you wish to control our work or plan to interfere with us, then your rise to power shall end in sorrow for you, Demon."
I'm baaack! Riese has greater mage armor on and Alter self going. Did we level recently or anything? I am 8th level should I be higher?
Hey! What about me?
Damn! That's one bad canine! Glad he's on our side!
Altai Iscarni wrote: dungeonmaster heathy wrote: You both did a little bit of damage. There's something blunting the force of your blows though; though he does bleed. Oso and Gittik damaged him a little bit. Bastard! I took a quick look at the combat history, and the wizard's avoided something in the vicinity of 160 points of damage. Stupid enemies and their useful spells... That's alright, someone will grapple him in a minute then we can just pound on him all day or drown him if we need to. ***Looks at Gittik and Oso***

Pip races up to Riese , but plants himself directly in front of him.
"Incoming hostiles Riese!"
As they advance I'll trip a Sound Burst at the harpy and sahuguin. Fort save or stunned for 1 rd, 1d8 damage.
1d8=7
Pip riffs out some dark wailing chords from Lucille
"Nice little spell there! I am not so concerned for my well-being, between my Lizard-like scales and my mystical armor it is doubtful they shall be able to harm me, but if they do I shall burn them to cinder. Do not take harm for me, for I am strong with my magicks."
"Welcome to Fantasy Sandbar, I am your host Mr. Imbelia Pyrrok de'flar!" Riese drops a fireball that gets everyone in it except the feral looking Hobgob. 9d6=32 damage, reflex DC20 for half. "Come, Gittik! Welcome our guests!"
BTW- T25 is where I am.
As we get close to the sandbar, Greater Mage Armor, Listening Lorecall and Alter Self on Riese, who takes on the appearance of a Lizardfolk.
1d20+4=10 Initiative.
Riese used the first round to cast Alter Self on himself, so he now gains the form of a lizardfolk (with mage armor!).
If he is a vampire we should look into perhaps harvesting some stakes to use in his eventual death. Holy water would be useful also....hmmmmm. Riese is gonna cast mage armor on himself once it gets near to dark. I have an invisibility sphere I can cast when the time comes. It would conceal all in a 10' radius and I was thinking this would be a good way to protect the remaining lizardfolk, including the chief, from harm.
Knowledge Arcana-1d20 11=19, what else do I know about vampires and their ilk?
Where there is life, there is hope, great chieftain. Where the Regulators are, hope grows for the just. Tell me chief, what is the best way to aid your remaining peoples? Would you have your son's forces destroyed? Do you wish to have your folk taken to a safe haven? Is there some force controlling your son that could be destroyed?
I wish to aid your people in their plight.
In Draconic
Formidia Mutacaseur! Riese turns into a lizardman and swims 20 feet away from the capsized boat and giant.

Yes, these are some strange dealing we are having in this abode.
dungeonmaster heathy wrote: Does anybody know where pricing of a spellbook is detailed? Pg 179 of players handbook. "Captured spellbooks can be sold for a gp amount equal to one-half the cost of purchasing and inscribing the spells within(that is, one-half of 100gp per page of spells). A spellbook entirely filled with spells(that is, with one hundred pages of spells inscribed in it) is worth 5,000gp."
Also, same page just above it under "writing a new spell into a spellbook"---A spell takes up one page per spell level (0-level spells take 1 page).
EDIT- oops, you already got it.....
Altai Iscarni wrote: Spellbook contents:
1)blade of blood, chill touch, orb of cold: lesser, summon undead i, and spells you allready have....
2)seeking ray, boil blood, false life, kelgore's grave mist, spectral hand, summon undead ii.
3)gaseous form, summon undead iii, greater mage armor, lightning bolt...
4)Polymorph, Wall of fire
I don't have the Spell compendium here in the States, so I don't know a bunch of these.
PHB2 has Blade of blood, seeking ray, kelgore's grave mist and I think Spectral hand. Kelgore's (Riese's) grave mist is a fairly good spell. I am gonna scribe Grave Mist, Wall of Fire, and Seeking Ray(4d6 ray of flame, that if it hits gives me a +4 to hit that target with any other ray spells, basically a tracer-spell with damage.). Kelgore's Grave Mist is a decent area of effect spell that saps life from creatures over time. I'll post the details if you need me to.
Altai Iscarni wrote: Also, in addition, Stig'll sell off some of his weapons and armour and put the gold in the party coffers. We don't know what yet, though. Don't forget the spellbook and what spells are in it, they sell well!
I just wanna know what my cut is of the loot. I know we got a spellbook we can copy some stuff from before we sell it but what about the rest, is someone keeping track?

Also what do I know about Green Hags, I have a +7 in arcana and local and a +6 in dungeoneering and planes. Here is my roll-1d20=16. You can rethink if you want to; the dude's got a hole in him dead... What targets are still in view?

Bigwolf at mn 22-23

GreenHag at p23, between statues at O and Q 23.
Riese is up topside, at i19 (I thought; i24 is at the back).
Sorry, yeah, I meant I19 when I posted.EDIT- Are all the baddies under the balcony? If so Riese goes back down the stairs and to H24 before targeting his chosen foe.
Riese eyes up the lizardman...."You look cold, poor fella. Perhaps I can warm you up! Imebelia furtion de'flar!!!" 5d6=18 damage from Riese's Firebolt dc18 reflex for half."There, you feelin' all better now?"
Riese will stride to the edge of the balcony (I24) and targets as many foes as possible with a fireball without scorching his friends(can't figure out where everyone is). The 20' spread should hit a bunch of foes specifically I want to target the casters. 6d6=33 damn-near max damage, reflex 18 for half.
"Imbelia Pyrrok de'flar!!! See if you can cast while sucking flame you kobold-lickers!!!"
Last fireball guys, back to firebolts and scorching rays...BTW, I should be able to follow along better now, holidays are backing off a bit...
Riese moves to G24 and then heads up the stairs. Once at the top he will glance around and see what is up there.
Altai Iscarni wrote: Very nice! BTW, has anyone seen the Fakemeister the last few days? Still here, school X-mas parties and volunteering to deliver presents to the Delaware Autism Teachers and therapists had had me running pretty steady. I'll post tomorrow though.
+900XP. Where does that put us with XP guys? Also you can't 2-hand a weapon the size of a dagger. It has to be a one-handed weapon. From SRD-Using two hands to wield a light weapon gives no advantage on damage; the Strength bonus applies as though the weapon were held in the wielder’s primary hand only. Just posting it so we don't get confused.
dungeonmaster heathy wrote: The trex cookoff continues, as Riese's fire blasts it's hide; the leather splits and sizzles.
I wish that this was a 'flick.....with a big CG t rex, and some Harry Potter guys and like Schwarzenegger dwarfs/hobbits going at it.
That would be pretty awesome! There is a ton of fire being tossed about here, around 70 damage or so by flame so far. And I still have one fireball, a scorching ray wand and several firebolts left. Toasty!
Note the low intellect displayed by the creature....Rexes are not very bright and have to rely primarily on instinct and a rare trait amongst it's kind. Binocular vision. See how the eyes can see forward and are not just positioned on the sides of it's head? The field of vision from each eye overlaps the other by about 60 degrees in the middle, allowing the creature to have a remarkable amount of depth perception and visual acuity....*Rambles on about the possibilities of color range in vision and other ocular studies*
No time to make a map until tonight....Just place me somewhere near the back of the party.
Gee, looks like a bigger critter needs some charring....bigger critter, bigger charring. IMBELIA PYRROK DE'FLAR!!! Riese casts a fireball slightly behind and above the Dino, ensuring that the T-rex's head and body are in the blast. IC is down so- 7d6=31 damage, DC 18 reflex for half.
And I was looking forward to lamb chops....guess dino ribs are gonna have to do...
So what are 'ewe' guys thinking? Oh never mind. Grrr....(Riese will drop a Fiery Burst centered on the sheep DC16 reflex, 9 damage) Lamb chops, anyone?
dungeonmaster heathy wrote: You can if you want to. How are you all travelling? Straight line? Wedge formation? Wha?....
Oh, yeah;....Altai's second question--he did say the chapel is to the north of the indoor jungle.
Do we want to travel in 'lightning bolt formation' or 'fireball formation'....hmmmmm? ;P I would actually prefer to travel in the wedge formation with Riese toward one side of the rear of the wedge.
With manual dexterity such as you display, my friend, you would have made a passable arcanist. You seem to possess a modicum of intellect so you would have done well enough, if not to my vaulted position of power....if you would wish to learn the mystic arts you have but to ask and I shall assist you in your studies. No thanks are necessary....
dungeonmaster heathy wrote: Do you guys want to buy equipment and/or magic items as well? I can deux ex machina that as well. I'm starting to feel like Castle Amber's good for doing things against the rules as well as the standard unwritten rules of adventure running. Everything goes there, and it seems to work.
Meh. I could go either way on this, let the rest decide and I'll follow suit but I have no governing opinion either way.
Altai Iscarni wrote: I liked the rage point mechanic. It'll be interesting to see how it works. As a caster, I wouldn't mind some unlimited cantrip action...
Actually the odoriferous emanations you are inhaling are scented more along the lines of a pheromonal excretion possibly used to display the general mood of a feline. It may communicate a certain attitude or mood to the group, I would guess they are getting anxious or angered if I was to put forth a hypothesis. Quite a large number of mammals use scent marking and musky emanations to convey a wide range of moods ranging from sexual arousal to fear.
Altai Iscarni wrote: Just saw that. I'll help myself to False life at some point - the rest are all yours. You can vast level 3 spells now, right? Scary!
I'm putting the bracers in my inventory, then.
Yeah, Fireball!! Hee-hee. Incidentally, anyone know what Greater Mage Armor does?
Riese will take the gloves of Dexterity. Don't forget, Altai knows that Riese nabbed a spellbook from one of the hobgobs earlier.
MAP!!!
Nothing fancy or anything but it should help with positions at the start....wish I had a couple fireballs!
Where is Altai, now? We must ensure his continued wellness! Let's find our stalwart companion, gentlemen.
dungeonmaster heathy wrote: She shows you this....
"They went to this big place."
If you scroll down the page, there's a side-to-side scroll near the bottom; it's kinda big.
I went and copied the image and made it easier to view, but you might lose some detail this way. Here you go.
