Get offa my lawn.

Hey ya little whippersnapper! Stop stealing my line!

Son, I know you just had a birthday and all, but you're still laggin' behind...

No worries!

I had a good time while it lasted y'all :)

Sorry, guys, crazy week at work...

I carefully make my way to the entrance of the warehouse, making sure Skullcrusha sees me and doesn't accidentally pop a frag grenade my way. I keep myself covered at the side of the door until I get the all clear from Thomas.

Can I get a tactical read on what is going on from my position? I am hesitant to just rush into the building.

Guess the old tech is starting to warm up!

Initiative: 11d6.hits(5)=5: 16

Thomas Chance wrote:
But Fleeing Ganger is on the other side of the building and running away from our general direction, how can you even see him?

Good point.

Second shot in the mage as well, just to be sure:

13d6.hits(5)=1

Ok, first shot is for the mage:

13d6.hits(5)=4

Second action is for the fleeing ganger:

11d6.hits(5)=3

The final ganger is the mage?

This is short range (I assume), so...

13d6.hits(5)=5

Hopefully, that'll do something to the bastard...

In that case, I run to the corner of the building, staying on the wall perpendicular from where the wizbang is hiding, and wait for him to pop out.

Can I get an idea of the tactical situation? The ork I was firing on is down for the count, and the leader is using the building corner as cover, right? What are the guards in the building doing, if I can tell?

11d6.hits(5)=3

Again, three hits, initiative: 14

Man, I may need to oil the old wired reflexes...

Ok, I REALLY finish the wounded ork this time! Dammit!

Same mods: 10d6.hits(5)=4

I try to finish the ganger I've been firing on:

Same mods as before (I assume).

10d6.hits(5)=6

The dice gods are not friendly to me, apparently...

Reisitance: 12d6.hits(5)=4

I take another shot at the ganger:

Same mods as above:

10d6.hits(5)=3

Init: 11d6=34

11d6 → [5,3,5,1,3,2,2,5,4,1,3] = (34)

Three hits, Initiative: 14

I take aim and fire at the closest ganger

Agility: 3
Pistols: 5
Extreme Range: -3
Smartgun Link: +2
Smartgun System: +2
Take Aim: +1

10 dice

10d6.hits(5)=3

"Just tell me where to point my pistol, and when to pull the trigger."

I look down the alley at the gangers, up at the drone, and wonder what possessed me to leave the warm comfort of my 15 year old Scotch...

I'm 40. An ex-cop. A private eye. Didn't get this old by NOT being paranoid, chummer...

Skullcrusha, I'm not entirely certain the gangers are here by accident...

Are you sure you want me to tip our hand to them?

Skullcrusha, those two do?

I indicate the two gangers hanging out down the alley.

Looking for gang types

9d6.hits(5)=2

Slides a round into the chamber of the automatic, slowly.

I hate set ups...

Ok, back. My personal issues should be resolved and I've prett ymuch figured out the routine at the new job, so...

Skullcrusha, just let me know where you need me, you seem to have the tactical lead on this one.

Tarlane:

Spoiler:
I'm starting a new job this week and dealing with some heavy duty personal issues, could you NPC Rick for a few days until I can get things settled a bit? I had to skip out on a meat space game last night due to the personal stuff even. Thanks.

Tacoma sounds good. When do you want to meet?

I'm just relaxing for the evening, letting the others get their prep time in. I don't have a lot of experience dealing with he corporate world, or running the shadows (I'm a SINner and an ex-cop, after all), so I'll defer to the others expertise in these matters.

Doobedoobedoo...sorry I've been light on the posting, working out some personal issues. :0)

Never been to Texas, eh? ;)

Skullcrusha, yes, someone was casing the bar and hopped in a cab shortly before you arrived back from the recon.

Yeah, I saw the guy, and I'd know him if I saw him again, but if I described him, he'd sound like every other salaryman in the downtown district...

To the gents returning from the recon:

We had someone casing this bar, they conveniently left just before you came back. Either one of the regulars here is cheating on his wie, or someone is keeping an eye on us...

Spoiler:
No need for official involvement, just keep that flichette gun under the bar handy, just in case...

Tarlane:

Spoiler:
I keep an eye on the guy keeping an eye on Leon's. I also let Jax know someone is casing the joint, on the chance it has nothing to do with us.

9d6.hits(5)=3

What do I notice?

I'll be at a table near the back room, keeping an eye on the place. I figure Neon is safe in the room with the electronic and mystical wards. As far as I know, there's just the one door in...

Have any non-regulars come into the bar that I'd notice?

Ah, got the impression Neon was finished. I am going to stay and watch his back then...

Thomas, I'll split the cab with you if that's how you're getting there.

Hmmm, it's amazing how peaceful you look when you're projecting. Belies the boom you can bring down when needs be, I think...

It seems too easy for the amount of buzz on the street, people don't get that excited over something small. I think we may be getting underpaid for this, and it will probably be much more difficult than that Johnson led on.

Can we find out who HE'S working for?

I'll watch over Neon, I know all of the regulars and will notice someone who's out of place. I spend quite a bit of my waking life here these days, after all...

I sip my whiskey, a distant look in my eyes, as if wondering if that fact disturbs me or not...

Sorry, guys, had to work all weekend, graveyard shift...

I'm Rick Roe, ex-Lone Star and current freelance private detective. Used to work Homicide, so I tend to notice the details. I'm handy with my sidearm, and, though I may not look it, not many will get the drop on me. I'll watch everyone's six so they can do their thing (nods to Spider and Chance) and back up the muscle (smiles at Skullcrusha).

I think it would be best if you gave Jax personality and life, as you'll be playing him. Nice description of the bar, btw, it's about how I imagined it

Tarlane:

Spoiler:
One thing, though, Jax is very open minded and cool with all races and creeds and what not. Rick wouldn't befriend someone who wasn't. Racism is only a shade behind abusing women on Rick's list of "things that make the law irrelevant, and the blood boil".

The bar has a mostly human crowd, but that is more from the style (it isn't the "new and shiny" and Sinatra plays as often as not). There are some meta-human regulars, ones that have a taste for crooners, Bogart and good (real) whiskey.

Jax, I sure hope they are...

Say, can you set us up with a bottle of good bourbon (my usual will do), set ups and the back room on the left? My friends and I were looking for a quiet evening, away from prying eyes and ears. Thank you, my friend...

I would like that, an opportunity to get to know the chummer watching my six a bit better should never be passed up.

Yeah, that's the place. I was planning on strolling down there anyway. Nice twenty minute walk to clear the mind and think about things, you know?

It's on Dexter, just down the street from that elven wannabe club. Icarus something...

I accept the up-front nuyen and make my way towards the door. Looking back at my fellow runners I say:

We can meet at Leon's later his evening. they have a secure room and the bartender is a friend of mine. Much quieter there, as well.

The terms are agreeable. Now we need the details.

I ponder the Johnson's proposal, and the responses of my potential running mates. I also wonder how many of the bullet ridden and talent fried corpses he saw at crime scenes and in the morgue thought their run was "simple" and "easy"...

I stay silent for the moment, seeing how the Johnson takes Skullcrusha's counter offer.

"Well, fine sir, it is time for me to step away from your bar. Enjoy the night, and I hope you have a good one!"

I settle my tab, leaving a 50 nuyen tip...

Tarlane:

Spoiler:
I send a message to the bartender from my comm link asking for a passkey while that all transpires...
