Anyone interested in GMing should drop me an email centralindianapfs@gmail.com. Let me know what slots you want to run, and which scenarios. I've filled out the schedule with scenarios. However, if something is empty, then I will switch it out with a scenario of your choice. Try to pick scenarios that can fit in the time frame, and perhaps finish a few minutes early. It's a very tight schedule that doesn't allow for adjustments. So, if you're interested, drop me a note ASAP.

There's a small food booth right outside the Sagamore Ballroom, along with a couple of food court type areas downstairs. But even those can get lines, and the food is bad even by fast food standards, while being more expensive than fast food. And other than pizza, I doubt if any of it's vegetarian.

The food trucks outside are probably the best bet for very quick meals, assuming you hit the trucks that don't have the longest lines.

But really, having groceries in your hotel room so you can make and bring your own sandwiches, fruit, etc for lunch is probably the best option for both speed and saving money. I just don't know the city well enough to know where to recommend buying them. Nor do I know the hotel you're staying at to know if the fridges will handle it.

Agreed about the food trucks. As mentioned there is a Marsh that is still open not to far from the convention center. Kroger's are scattered around the city and is a common grocery store here. Best bet is to google for them. Neither are expensive.

How much time does it take to get fed and how much do these venues run dollar-wise?

ie, I'm pretty sure a good chunk of the folks posting in this thread are on a budget?

Those places are nice resteraunts so there moderately priced and take time, so would not be ideal if pressed for time or on a tight budget. Might be best to food shop at a local grocery store and have snacks to go. I do this every year, even though I drive home after the day is done. It is cheap and efficient.

Best bet is the food trucks if Time is a factor.

  • Sometime in the next month or so (this timeline is very fluid) Richard will post for requests - either what you want to GM, what you want to play or a combination of the two.
  • Richard will develop a schedule and post it with a request for GMs that have not already been assigned.
  • Sign ups in the past have been on a website called Warhorn. A site used to coordinate games.
  • Sign ups will be announced on the Paizo boards and then you will be able to reserve a spot at a table. Some tables are limited to 4 players, some to 6 depending on size. Also, some tables are limited to those 21 and older as they are in the bar area.
  • Reserve your spot at a table. Some tables fill up very fast.
  • Arrive on time (preferable before), and you will be directed to your table. If you arrive late, as in more than 5 minutes (??? maybe 10), your spot will be given to another player. The slots are short so game need to get started on time.
  • Order some food and drink (this is required as you are taking space in a restaurant - but it's good food.) and enjoy your game.

Good afternoon,

If you could send me or Mark Stratton (The Venture Captain here in Central Indiana) a quick message we should be able to straighten out the reporting issues for Who's Yer Con last year.

As others have mentioned, what really matters is the signed and dated chronicle sheets. If you have that then you are fine at whatever table you play at.

I opened this petition not because I want to see this change but to open (re-open) the discussion on this topic and to hopefully have Campaign Leadership assert that the process is the guide is to be followed by all GMs. Far too many GMs ignore this. In my view, this practice is not healthy for PFS and it has to change.

I believe the process is set out in the guide and if GMs don't believe it is worth following than they should not be allowed to GM for PFS.

It is an excuse to say that time has ran out. Plan better.

Thank you,

Gary Bush

Hmm.. The guide is just that, a guide, not a book of laws. If one has time to fill everything out as outlined in a chronicle sheet, good. If not, then that should be fine as well. The object is to have a good time at a PFS game.

guide
ɡīd/

a thing that helps someone to form an opinion or make a decision or calculation.
"here is a guide to the number of curtain hooks you will need"

synonyms:model, pattern, blueprint, template, example, exemplar; standard, touchstone, measure, benchmark, yardstick, gauge

"the techniques outlined are meant as a guide"

law
lô/
noun

the system of rules that a particular country or community recognizes as regulating the actions of its members and may enforce by the imposition of penalties.
"they were taken to court for breaking the law"

corrected, as I missed a word in there.

Each year, on the Wednesday before Gen Con, the Indianapolis Lodge hosts Pathfinder Society Gaming at Scotty's Brewhouse in downtown Indianapolis. This year, PFS gaming returns to that venue on Wednesday, August 3rd!

I'm still working on getting more GMs to round out the tables we have. If anyone has a particular scenario you would like to play in or to run, let me know (webbrichd@gmail.com) whether you want to play it or run it, and in which slot. In particular looking for GM's for the second slot. The current schedule is maxed with the number of tables we can utilize. However, if there is a scenario that is empty or lacks a GM, it is possible to switch that out with something else. :)

There will be 2 slots:
8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
12:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Gaming will start at 8:00 a.m.; food service will start at 9:00 a.m. Though there is no cost to register or to play, all players and GMs, at every table, in every slot, are expected to purchase food, beverages, etc. There is not a lot of room (it gets pretty crowded starting just before lunch), so you shouldn't bring lots of extra stuff with you.

If you are interested in joining us, hop on over to the Warhorn HERE, register, and then sign up for a few games.

That's exactly what I'm going to do when I run it next week. I was trying to find some way for this encounter to work, and that's perfect. As written, there is no guidance as to how it's NOT just make a single roll and the PCs win.

EXCELLENT encounter, just not developed enough to actually work without some creative work by the GM, which will drive RAW fanatics apoplectic.

That seems to be well beyond what the encounter actually says about how it works. How I plan to run it:

1. Determine which PC's are trying to delay/distract the guards and who is helping her escape.

2. Allow delaying people to make their relevant checks. this will lead to relevant bonuses for those trying to sneak her away using the stealth DC's in the scenario.

3. Assuming each "move action" for the PC's takes one minute (as suggested above), it looks like they need 3 minutes of distraction to move her from the Fox Den to her House.

A couple of things are missing/bizarre about this encounter. What sort of business is the Fox Den? We aren't told. Also just how idiotic is Mirelle in wanting to return to her own home when told she is being hunted by Hellknigts.

When I ran this just over the weekend this question came up for the Fox Den. What sort of establishment is this? Is it a bar, a tavern? It's never really specified. My guess that it is a closed/rundown tavern of some sort.

Oh the players at my table didn't know why she wanted to go back to her house either, considering it wasn't that far.
