Human

It sounds fantastic. You (and they) must be so proud.

Human

Wow.

Mur, that is all kinds of amazing. Your students must get so much from this. Superleague for engineers.

Human

Aubrey - yes. Can use that.

Human

Aubrey:

Spoiler:
I'll go waft about the flophouse. How much time has passed since the meeting? So hard to tell in PbP.

Human

Aubrey

Spoiler:
Are you OK for Irivis to just show up at the flophouse? I can hold as long as you like, of course. Also, if she does show up, does she know anything remotely interesting apart from where to get a great ankle massage?

Human

Tordek - was going along similar lines myself. It makes sense.

Human

Works for me. I'll dicker about with the numbers later today. Do you want her at level 3?

Human

Celestial! Lovely to see you again and thank you so much for taking Angalia back.

The pace isn't an issue - it's longevity that matters. Words which can apply in oh-so-many contexts.

Human

Hi Mur :)

Shall bump her up.

Human

Seems quite likely to me. Irivis (probably) isn't exactly persona non grata in Tyr, but she's be unlikely to want to go there in any way that might get her noticed. Calla and Gorad weren't a particularly discreet pairing.

Human

Thanks all :)

Things are much better. I'm doing a PGCE (Post Grad Certificate in Education) and focusing on adult literacy and offender learning. That finishes late May and hopefully work will happen as a result.

Human

Not until I've finished reading the thread. Will think about it. Knowing Irivis, it will have been some trivial reason blown up out of all proportion to its actual importance.

Human

Ah, thanks for that Tordek. I'll get on with leveling her up.

Human

Angalia's not really a natural healer, so getting her out of there might be a good idea before she joins the ranks of the permanently dislocated.

What level are you all at now? It's going to take a while to sort her out :)

Human

Hi all :)

I'm edging back into circulation.

Did Angalia die somewhere along the line or could she re-join you all if you're willing? No pressure and certainly no rush. If things have moved too far ahead, I'll completely understand.

Human

On closer inspection, Irivis is already level 2.

Human

Greetings :)

Aubs, if you're still willing to have me back, I've got a little time this week to bring myself and Irivis up to speed. Assuming you didn't kill her . . . (I admit I haven't checked yet).

What do I need to do to update her - anything fancy other than making her level 2?

Human

Hi yourself :) It's been a while, but I'm slowly making my way back to the boards. I'm re-training as a teacher in offender learning. I don't want to derail this thread, but if I survive the next couple of weeks, any chance you might be able to slot me back into Dark Sun?

Human

If you're looking at completed APs via PbP I suspect you'll have a very limited pool to draw on. There are a few exceptions, but most PbP games collapse and die within 3 months.

What might be interesting from your perspective is widening the definition of your success pool and seeing how many completed games of any length you can find.

If you do decide to take that route, I can offer a few :)

Human

I will also keep checking back in. Once I get the worst of my course out of the way (probably mid May) I'd be up for running something if Grim doesn't re-surface.

Human

Alas, indeed. Hoping Grim is OK.

Human

I was just wondering that. Hope all is well with him.

Human

Liking this very much :)

Human

Personally, I'm not bored. Just slightly reluctant to post again in case anyone has something awesome up their sleeves :)

Human

I'm in favour of anything that makes skill challenges more of a challenge. Back in the day when I DM-ed I tried all sorts of things. This certainly seems like a very good option, although I'd be inclined to give us a number of successes to try and hit at the start.

Human

OK. Let's give it a try. Posted Edie for you :)

Human

I'm happy to give it a try, especially at this level. It may not work so well if anyone has interrupts or things depending on positioning, but we're not that sort of party at the moment.

Human

Not likely to give Kendall flack since they were spoiling for a fight regardless of what we did. Well, not just yet anyway . . .

I'm fine with Grim rolling init for us, or taking ten. Whatever works best for Grim.

She's blending in with the luggage at the moment, but Aunty Edie's soon gonna find an extra fleece unaccounted for.

If that fleece doesn't have the right mark on it, Edie is going to be hugely suspicious.

yeah Kill Bill is just....well it might be easier to watch part 2, rather than the 'crosses the line twice' bloodbath of part 1

For a pair of films I'm never going to watch, I seem to know a surprising amount about KBI and KBII. On balance, I'm keeping the whole "never going to watch" thing going. I have a really low bloodshed tolerance on screen, and can take almost anything on stage - strange.

Human

Seconding (or thirding, or generally agreeing with) the awesomeness. Will have to steel myself to watch Kill Bill. In my own defense, I have to steel myself to watch The Sound of Music as well, but for slightly different reasons.

carding combs are the combs used to help gather and straighten fleece, yes?

That's them.

"anti-fatigue floormat" had me spilling coffee.

Human

Grim, how do you feel about people making adjustments to characters and powers after the first combat?

I'm asking because once we've seen each other in play, it may make sense to tweak a little.

Human

I'd agree with that. Edie's not had much to do with cities at all. She'll just treat everything like a flock of sheep until she learns otherwise.

Human

Ah, good point. Pity I posted before thinking about this, but I don't think it'll be a disaster.

I'm fine with knowing everyone beforehand.

Edie might have run across Kendall as a general do-gooder.

She could also have stumbled over Aleena and Kai-Sovis at the prompting of her fey patron. I get the distinct feeling that the patron is behind Edie's readiness to move on. They must have told each other all the stories, riddles and insults they both know by now.

Most cool.

Sorry to be absent yesterday, my computer decided that the Paizo downtime was much longer than it needed to be.

Jeepers. I am scared.

Edie, on the other hand, isn't.

So we did Mur - great to see so many familiar faces :) - including Kendall.

Does anyone have half decent Dex among the lot of us? Init is going to be a barrel of laughs for us :D

Blushing slightly at the warm welcome. Thank you all.

I have an assortment of warlocks at my disposal, but I think, in honour of the occasion, I'll roll up a new one.

A few questions . . .

Any class/race restrictions I need to know about?

And do we use themes and associated powers or not?

Starting kit?

Will start putting together Edie shortly.

Peasant, you're a gentleman and I really appreciate this. Good to meet those I haven't met before.

I'll have a tinker around with a warlock. Won't be until this evening now, but I can get something up fast.

It's been a while but Peasant and Zero both suggested I take a look. If you are willing, Grimcleaver I'll leap into the water.

One thing - I'm in the UK, so my timing is probably completely out of whack with everyone else. I can post frequently most days, but only at either end of the day (work placement has no internet access).

I'll have a rummage though my backlog of discarded characters and see who's available and will fit into the cluster of miscreants. Looks like a striker of some sort would be welcome.

Human

Thank you all. I've enjoyed playing with you all so much - and yes, meeting you and the family at GenCon was a special treat, Tordek.

I'd love to play Angalia again sometime in the future.

Human

Thank you, and I shall try and stay minimally in contact at least. Hope everyone had a good Christmas.

Dear all,

I've broken all my most fondly held beliefs about communication but the time has come.

I need to take a long break from the boards - as I'm sure has been obvious to everyone but me for a while now.

Work is stupidly busy, and that I can deal with. What I can't deal with is the current hand being dealt my son. Gaming here was a necessary outlet and relaxation but become another source of guilt and pressure so I need to just accept that I can't do this at the moment.

Wishing everyone well, hoping to see you all again at some point in the future and thank you all for a marvelous four years of fun and friendship.

It is his turn :) Urgog is trapped in his own webs following the demise of Spanglefang.
