This argument recently came up in a SFS game. The team was tasked with bringing an unwilling individual to a third party _alive_. A boon and Fame point hinged on the NPC being alive.

It turned into quite a heated discussion, and ultimately the GM relented to allow 3 rounds to stabilize the individual from being killed.

Sone key factors:
1) players were not aware of the 0 hp rule
2) SFS has an Infamy system for character misdeeds, such as murder.
3) It seems like a cheat in situations like this to reward recklessness by making an exception to the printed rule.

The height of the geyser is 20ft. The boat goes 20ft. 40ft seems reasonable for a second.

Thanks for that! It's a weird inconsistency, but lends credence to the concept that the wording should really be "affected by"

It seems to mean that you are forced to select the greater version of the spells you previously knew at the higher spell level, but then are free to replace the lower level slots as you wish.

The wording of the entry seems a bit backward to me. - You can't place a level 4 spell in a level 2 slot. The term "replace" doesn't make sense.

You activate lifelink to prevent it from being banished.

They probably named it after you. Congrats, your legend is now solidified!

1 person marked this as FAQ candidate. 4 people marked this as a favorite.

This is a spell from the "Legacy of Dragons" book.

It states in part that the pseudo-dragon ally summoned gains the "abilities" associated with a "Form of the Dragon" chosen by the caster.

So, what exactly is meant by "abilities?"

The wording of Draconic Ally could have stated "the Ally is assumed to be _affected by_ the "Form of the Dragon" spell, in which case things like Size, state increases and attacks would easily be applied.

Could someone give an example of an appropriately applied Draconic Ally?

I think the Draconic Ally only gains the _abilities_ so no size change or stat increases, including Nat AC.

They would gain Breath Weapon, Energy Resistances, and movement etc..

There seems to be a misalignment of the Enlightened Bloodrager archetype. The replacement ability is to add several feats to the feats available at 6th, and other even levels. However. the ability states that it replaces Damage Reduction, which happens at 7th Level, and other odd levels. Is this correct? - Dr seems like a lot to give up for feats without actually gaining additional feat slots.

I am looking to see what if any Prestige classes can work with a Kineticist. I found this on the "Giant in the Playground forum." What are the thoughts and opinions on these:

KINETICISTS AND PRESTIGE CLASSES
-Kineticists are apart from traditional spellcasters and as such do not always qualify and advance for those available to more common magic users.
-Levels in kineticist qualfy a character for prestige classes with the following entry requirements.
A caster level requirement, if no type (excluding psychic) is specified.
Ability to cast spells of X level, if no type (aside from psychic) is specified.
Ability to use wild talents of X level, or a specific wild talent. None exist yet, to my knowledge, but here it is.

-Levels in kineticist do not qualify a character for prestige classes with the following requirements:
A caster level requirement where the type is specified, unless that type is psychic.
Ability to cast spells of X level where the type is specified, unless that type is psychic.
Ability to cast spells where the school is specified.
Ability to cast a specific spell, even if a wild talent exists with a similar effect.

-When advancing in a prestige class that states "+1 level of existing spellcasting class," "+1 level of existing psychic spellcasting class," or "+1 level of existing casting class," a kineticist adds those levels to his kineticist class for the purpose of determining his effective kineticist level when using wild talents, and for the purpose of gaining new wild talents.

Thanks. I missed that on first reading.

I have plans to do the same. Hard part is waiting for 4th level in PFS to get a Conductive Amulet of Mighty Fists to start laying down 3d6+5 melee strikes. Plus by splashing one level, there are several options to pickup the unarmed strike. Monk, Monk Unchained, Brawler.
