well its as simple as see the direction the players are interested in, and then letting it go. A little romance is nice in a good rpg, but once the characters/npc's get to the "bedroom" its time to handwave it. if the players want to decide "how" they did it, that can be done on there time. No campyness needed. any other weird stuff is left up to what it maybe, and if it offends anouther play because of it over the topness then it just isn't right for that table and it is stated then and there.

cough cough, bump

I kinda like the idea of a campaign where everyone has some spell casting ability.

I've personally only ended one game while I was a DM, I had one player who slept till combat and another who rules lawyer-ed and made characters to purposely start in and out of game fights, and I had a 3rd player who just sucked at the game. So I canceled the game and called two of the players and told them they could come back for the new game I was starting.

can you guys make a thread about it or drop it its irrelevant to what is being talked about in this thread. Please stop hijacking the thread!!!!

well if the monk used hold the line, then its an aoO and he would also need the sidestep feat. and i would call it a dick move. I wouldn't use that combo as a player or DM.

i figured but thought i would double check anyway

question, rings are not technically wondrous items, so would you get denied for submitting one.

thanks everyone, think i'll link this to my DM

Ok so my DM believes that the shield spell only gives you a shield bonus against targets in front of you. Here is why:

Shield creates an invisible, tower shield-sized mobile disk of force that hovers in front of you. It negates magic missile attacks directed at you. The disk also provides a +4 shield bonus to AC. This bonus applies against incorporeal touch attacks, since it is a force effect. The shield has no armor check penalty or arcane spell failure chance. Unlike with a normal tower shield, you can’t use the shield spell for cover.

So does anyone else disagree with his conclusion and agree that is there for visual effect only?

it usually does

when the rest of us DM we do the same but when he DM's he wont let us use any thing but whats in the books he has, and the stuff he likes. It's rather... disappointing.

if the book is not released the DM wont let me use it. He also turned down the home-brewed class as its not official. :(

thanks

well my DM has allowed me to use it as an unarmed strike in the second round. But that keeps my character fairly weak. Severed Ronin if you can find it that would be great.

can a sorcerer cast a touch spell and deliver it through an unarmed attack in the same round instead of a normal touch? And if so can you also tell me what page in the book would indicate it.

Thanks I just placed my order.

Hey I got an email saying that The pathfinder book was all sold out. Does that mean that if I preorder now that I have to wait till November to get a copy or are there still plenty left.

There dailies so there for can only be used once a day. that would be how I would simply house rule that real quick if I played 4th Edition. Not to mention resting after every fight would be stupid.

Ok that makes more sense, guess the idea was to power down power attack alittle. Thanks for the help everyone. Otherwise everyone I've shown this has liked the changes especially to the classes.

Wait new question- it says "Add an amount equal to your Strength
modifier (or your base attack bonus, whichever is lower)
to your melee damage rolls for 1 round"
So this means if your 5th lvl with an 18 str you must add +4. You cant choose a lower number like the old power attack.

Thanks somehow I missed that in the negative energy part.

my next question is with power attack. So the way its writen a first level fighter with a 18 str will get -4 to hit and +8 damage with a two-handed weapon.
so at low level this will be much stronger but at higher lvl it won't be so strong.

first I'd like to say I just downloaded the beta test and have shown it to some of my players and are exited to test it. But I have a question about the Channel negative energy. If an evil cleric uses this is he unaffected by it or is he also harmed by his own ability. Also One of my player wants to know why you have both Great cleave and whirlwind. I figure its cause whirlwind is slightly better and takes more to get to, but they do almost seem redundant.
Thanks for your time.
