I'm greatly afraid that the dreaded post monster is striking again. I can see that Reason's posted something but not what it is unless I add a post myself.

Odd... I can see them. Here is a repost of the important one..

Reason should be at M9 from last round. If a problem, he moves now.

Reason tries to aid The Rogue Knight by sending a bolt of light towards the orc raider.

Lance of Faith (with Bloodhunt) (1d20+8=25, 1d8+5=12) vs O3's Ref. If hit, Radiant damage, and TRK gets +2 power bonus to hit O3.

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

hmm.. can't edit.
Reason has very little healing; only Heal checks, or 4 temp hp.

Reason sends a bolt of energy towards one of the orcs surrounding The Rogue Knight.

Move to M9, Sacred Flame vs O4 Reflex 1d20+7=24, 1d6+5=7 If Hit, Kia gains 4 temp hp.

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Arianwyn, did you count the Surge+14 that Reason gave you on his turn?

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Reason chuckles and pops the sticking cinders into his mouth.

Flavourful Free Action. Resist Fire 6

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Reason cautiously moves to a new position, and calls on Ioun's Beacon of Hope again. He then heals Arianwyn.

Shift to K10. Beacon of Hope vs O2, Ogre, O4 (burst 3) (1d20+7=10, 1d20+7=14, 1d20+7=18) vs Will, Hit targets Weakened til Reason's next turn, Reason, Vel, Whiteclaw, TRK regain 8hp, and Reason gets +5 on healing for rest of encounter. Boosted Healing Word surge bonus for Arianwyn (1d6+8=14)

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Reason finds that the ogre is much to close for comfort, so he stands up and attempts to send it away, Cause Fear vs Will (1d20+7=12) but it has stronger willpower than he had hoped I assume

He then calls on Ioun to heal the wounds given by the Eye of Gruumsh, as well as some of the damage from the Raven Spirit. Healing Word: Healing Bonus (1d6+3=4) +9 for surge=13 healed

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Reason calls on Ioun to aid Whiteclaw while moving forward. draw +2 Holy Symbol, J10, Divine Aid - Whiteclaw gets immediate Save at +3 1d20+3=22

Then, taxing his reserves, he uses Ioun's power to smite the Eye. Action Point, Attack vs Ref Daunting Light (1d20+7=23, 2d10+5=19) If Hit: Radiant Damage, grants Arianwyn Combat Advantage til end of Reason's next turn.

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

oops.. Reason was too worried about Kia to tether his horse.

Init with Kia bonus (1d20+3=19)

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Reason does his best to assess Kia's state, and assist her if possible.

Heal (1d20+10=21)

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Reason calls on Ioun to aid Kia. Ioun's Poise

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

I-10, I guess.

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Reaon rides near the front, where he can quickly go to the aid of whoever is leading, as well as to best use his finely honed senses.

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

DM

Spoiler:
Does Reason's Poison Resistance 5 apply? If so, no snake damage :)

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Reaon stops suddenly, as if struck by a sudden thought.

"Oh, why not?", he murmurs, right before taking the Trial of the Snake.

DM

Spoiler:

Reason lies up a storm to the Serpent: Bluff (1d20+7=14, 1d20+7=13, 1d20+7=26) Ah, that's why not.

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Reaon grimaces. "It appears I may press my luck no further. Let us return to the totems for their blessing, then head out."

He touches the nearest owl carving before the party exits.

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Rev

Spoiler:

"Let me tell you of my knowledge, great one."

Religion, Arcana, Religion (1d20+10=15, 1d20+10=19, 1d20+10=11) Well those aren't very good rolls :(

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

As the party passes through the Testing Chamber, Reason makes his way to the pool, and steps on the depiction of the Raven.

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

"Before we depart, I wish to return to the testing chamber. The Owl told me to overlook nothing, and I am capable of taking at least two of the other tests. I believe that the additional aspects would only aid our attempt, and it should only take me a few moments."

"Lady Kia, it seems that we are destined to continually be the voices of caution. I feel that in this case we should accede to the wishes of those desiring departure, as they allowed us our resting period."

"Should I summon the disc to carry the skull?"

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

"Yes. We must move quickly."

"But we must first deal with the skull's attack. And we must be sure that we do not miss anything important by being too hasty.", Reason advocates.

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Reason also holds to the idea of resting first.

"I cannot see us being able to race to the Maw, defeat this Kyleth, Queen of the Forge, and all of her minions, and destroying the skull before it regains its powers, without first taking the time to rest and recover the greater powers that we have expended."

"And while I have been given the means to bring one of you back from the dead, I would rather not have to attempt to use it; and really prefer not to have that capability exceeded."

Unfortunately, the floating disc must stay within 5 squares of Reason, and the skull has a range of 6. Reason will be the skulls target of choice, but he has a normal Will of 19, same as Kia. Ioun can raise it to 24, if Reason gets a chance.

Can this discussion count as a short rest, at least?

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

"My thanks, Lady Rubarka, I shall do what I can with this.", Reason says, taking the symbol from her.

"As for the skull: if you insist on continuing immediately, instead of listening to Reason", he smirks, "I could conjur up a disk of force to carry the item so we all have our hands free for other things."

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

"I propose that we rest before we journey to the Maw. I am the most likely target of the skull should it regain an attack, and I am willing to take that chance to increase our odds of success. I am also probably the easiest one for the rest of you to stop, should I turn against you."

"On the other hand, if we do not rest for a while, I strongly doubt that we shall have the strength to overcome whatever awaits us."

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

"The crone told us that we must return this skull to the Maw. As to its other properties..."
Arcana (1d20+10=29) Reason will share any results

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

"Hmm.. Plan B.", Reason calls on Ioun yet again to try and protect Whiteclaws mind from whatever is attacking it.

Ioun's Poise: +5 to Will defence

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Reason enters the room and calls on Ioun to aid Whiteclaw.

Move to N13. Divine Aid: Whiteclaw gets a save with a +3 bonus

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Is the skeleton complete?

Reason attunes his senses to the mystic vibrations of the throne and sword.

Arcana to Detect Magic (1d20+10=13) bleh..Arianwyn must be distracting him

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

"It seems to me that this 'Raising Room' would be a logical place for us to locate the skull. It should be beyond the door to the south."

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

"According to my map, we have yet to explore 2 or 3 more rooms: the Raising Room, the room we could have gone to instead of this one, and the cave beyond this hole. Are we prepared for another 2 or 3 fights like this last one, or should we rest and recover first?"

"For myself, I am lacking Ioun's greater powers, but I am willing to go on and can still contribute."

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

"Would that not be the skull that we came here for?", Reason asks Whiteclaw and the Rogue Knight.

He shares a look with Arianwyn before answering him, "My map indicates that there should be some passage leading to a nearby cave, but this hardly seems serviceable."

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Reason gathers up some of the rubble from the broken statues to stand on, so he can peer into the crevice he has found. When (if) he sees only darkness, he uses one of his javelins to try to determine the dimensions of the hole, and also if it follows the path indicated on his map.

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Rev DM wrote:
For me, levelling works this way. You take any extra hp and healing surges immediately. Bung on the extra points for skills/attacks and so forth. Those also come into effect at once. Feats, power etc do not come into effect until you've had an extended rest.

Immediate ability increases as well? Yay, 4th level!!

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

"You know...", Reason speaks up, "my map shows a narrow tunnel leading away to a cave from this room, but I don't immediately see the entrance. It may be a defensible place to catch our breath."

He begins examining the east wall, as well as the floor and ceiling in the east part of the room for any hidden openings. EDIT: starting in the north-east corner.
Right after his short rest, spending 2 surges

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Reason swings with his mace as the gnoll goes past. No IC. 1d20+5=16 (including Bloodhunt), in the unlikely case of a hit 1d8+4 damage= 9. Does Kia get an OA as well?

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Correct. Sorry bout that.

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Reason calls on Ioun for luck as he unleashes a bolt of light at the remaining scourge. Divine Fortune. Sacrd Flame (1d20+7=13, 1d6+4=8) vs Reflex (includes +1 from Bloodhunt, +1 from Divine Fortune). If hit, Radiant damage, Whiteclaw gets 4 temp hp.

He then circles the fight to flank the clawfighter.

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Reason circles around the ex-drum, to go to the aid of Whiteclaw.

Move to G10 without provoking OA. Heal (1d20+9=18) Allow Whiteclaw to use Second Wind.

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Reason staggers back a step to catch his breath and re-focus.

Shift to C6. Second Wind.

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

DM

Spoiler:
Are any of the gnolls bloodied yet? By my reckoning, C1 has taken 33 points of damage, with the others all between 12 and 20. Also, when did S2 un-slow? Just grasping at straws in a dire situation.

Sheesh, you sure made up for lost time on Reason :)

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

More invocations to Ioun are chanted, which cause The Rogue Knight to be Healed {Healing Word 2: Surge + 1d6+3=7 } and a bolt of light to strike at the closest clawfighter [ooc](Lance of Faith vs C1: 1d20+5=19, 1d8+4=10 vs Ref. Hit does Radiant damage, and gives TRK a +2 power bonus to hit C1).

Reason then moves in to flank the same clawfighter.

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Reason's holy symbol flares to life yet again, and a dazzling light display strikes towards both friends and foes.

For the Rogue Knight: Healing Word, surge + Healing Surge (1d6+3=5) . For S2: Cause Fear (1d20+5=11) vs Will, in unlikely case of hit, S3 moves its speed+3 away from Reason, provoking OA from Whiteclaw. Action Point. For C1: Daunting Light (1d20+5=10, 2d10+4=16) vs Reflex. In unlikely event of hit, Radiant damage and TRK gets Combat Adv against C1 til end of Reason's next turn.

All light and fury signifying nothing (except for healing).

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Just a remider that Reason's Darkleaf Armour gives him AC 20 on the first attack against him each encounter. It's never been needed before :D

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Reason advances into the room, ready to meet any attack. Move to D2

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

The Rogue Knight wrote:

B4, please if it is available.

Whiteclaw is starting there, but B2 and 3 are available.

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Reason will start at A4. initiative (bonus from Kia) (1d20+2=4) His action will be a move, but I think he is waiting for others to go first :)

Rev

Spoiler:

4e ignorance question:
Does a skill challenge count as an encounter? ie. Have we now passed a milestone, or is that after this encounter (if we survive)?

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Reaon smiles wrily, "Should I honour them with an appearance, then?"

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

"Just to play my advocate", Reason says with a wink, "my map shows that we could bypass the room where the drumming is by going through the other door."

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

Reason suddenly goes rigid, and stares at the doors to the south.

"Whatever you wish to investigate here, be ready to fight. Someone is pounding on a drum further in."

(Male Tiefling Cleric 11)

"I believe that we have activated as many different carvings as we can. Shall we proceed?"
