On the Definitions card it states that:
the card wrote: Unless a DC is listed, the DC for any necessary save is equal to the armor class of the target.
Mike McArtor wrote: Wolfgang Baur did indeed write the Qadira entry for the PCCS Hardcover. :) SWEET!
Kedric the Arrogant wrote: So, after reading this thread, I failed to find the answer as to what system this will support? 3.5 or 4.0? Anyone know? There will be NO official 4.0 support of Pathfinder products. This product will be 3.5 OGL. Pathfinder products will switch over to the Pathfinder RPG rules after August 2009.
EDIT: D'oh!!! Scooped by McArtor...
Navdi wrote: Its a pity that free PDF:s aren't included with books orderer outside the subs. Free PDF's are the single best reason to subscribe, IMO.
Chronicles was a kind of "catch-all" sub for things that didn't fit anywhere else. Companion is a new deal that is what the player's guides for the different adventure paths are moving to. It will also include player friendly setting info on other parts of the campaign setting (like Osirion, for example) and possibly good player related stuff like PrC's and Class Act like articles.
Chronicles happens whenever a products comes out - no set release schedule.
Companion will be bi-monthly when it starts.
O_o
Try pages 80-81...
PDF version should be available for purchase at about the same time that it arrives on store shelves - in about a week or so.
J3 Crucible of Choas is another one. Plug it into any mountainous region and let the players go.
About the same time that it's avaiable in stores - in another week or so...

The large headers that specifically break down the sections are very helpful at a glance.
I agree with this 100%

Greg A. Vaughan wrote: I will say this. The outcome will probably have a lot to do with what you, as the consumer, want. Looks as if things are turning for the worse, in respect to seeing this in 3.5, sadly with the new restrictions in the GSL coming to light. Any thoughts, Greg?
Just the opposite - I am now saddened that I won't be able to enjoy great upcoming Necromancer products since I won't be converting to 4E - Can't even get 3.5 conversions of them that Clark wanted to do.
James Jacobs wrote: If you switch to the GSL, you aren't allowed to use OGL stuff as long as you're doing GSL stuff. If you DO switch back to the OGL stuff, that ends your license to continue using the GSL, and I suspect that WotC won't be very receptive to letting you back in to use the GSL in the future as a result. This is quite unfortunate for those who were wanting 4E stuff from Paizo (and other OGL companies too). It is much too restrictive and probably has little effect on the success of 4E as a game. Why would WotC make such a move?
I hope they reconsider it.
No, it is not reprinted material.
Great Work!!! Please do more.
Such an awesome looking mini!
Any idea on when we can expect to see these shipping?
Sweet!
Dave Mage for President!!!

Sorry, I must have missed this. Where is that stated? The release seems to say something different.
WotC wrote: Wizards is also working on the details of a second royalty-free license, the d20 Game System License (d20 GSL). This license will allow third-party publishers to create roleplaying game products in non-fantasy settings with the 4E rules. The exact details for the d20 GSL will be released as they become available.
On Tuesday, Vic said it would probably not ship until next week.

Hi-Res, update map is located HERE.
Thanks, Lisa.

Sebastian wrote: A private company getting bought out isn't a passive decision. It's not as if someone says "Hey, I'll pay $15 million for Paizo" and everyone there goes "Aw s!@%, the price on the company is $15 million, I guess that dude owns it now." So, in order to be bought out by someone who feels differently, the owners of Paizo would need to feel differently, and hence be uncool.
So, I think what you want to say is to continue being cool, which includes not being uncool by selling ownership of the company to someone uncool.
(Of course, were Paizo to somehow become publicly traded, a hostile transaction becomes possible, it's just really unlikely that Paizo would somehow become publicly traded, particularly without decreasing their coolness).
that's cool...

"Save the succubus, save the Wheel."
Nothing will be published using the Pathfinder RPG rules until after August 2009, when the rulebook's out. In other words, 3.5 OGL.

Seriously, it was a great chapter, though
James Jacobs wrote: I just yelled across the room to ask him what's up. He told me to check the wikipedia page for crocotta.
Basically, it's a regional variant name for "gnoll" though.
Excellent. I had looked it up on Saturday and was hoping that's what it was.
Thanks.
Hey, James. Any idea what a crocottan is from the gnoll chapter (yes, I am obsessed)?
Thanks.
SirUrza wrote: Very cool. What's with the stick though. :) Read the backstory...
I finished reading this last night - what a great book! Lots of great Golarion-monster-flavor and plenty of interesting tid bits to create unique and memorable encounters and NPC's. The crunch that is included is "just the right amount", IMO: a stat block for each creature and something special for each one (a couple feats, a variant statblock, a unique weapon, etc.) Great job, Paizo.
Just one question... what's a crocottan, referenced in the gnoll chapter?
Will there be any changes in the reprint (errata, etc.) or will it be the same as the first printing?
I'm OK with it, I just want to know what it is that they're refering to - either a generic creature or some variant monster that got cut from the original text...
Demiurge 1138 wrote: Rauol_Duke wrote: Anyone have any idea what the crocottans, referenced in the gnoll section are? "Crocutta" is the scientific name of the hyena. It's possible that crocottans are a Paizo-fied OGL version of the leucrotta, a hyena-like monster that's been around in D&D for forever (but, since it got slotted into Monsters of Faerun, isn't in the SRD). I was hoping that this is what it was, although, there's no mention or reference to it. I wonder if it got cut...

Hey Ken,
The monsters included are Bugbears, Gnolls, Goblins, Hobgoblins, Kobolds, Lizardfolk, Minotaurs, Ogres, Orcs and Trolls.
I've made it through bugbears and gnolls this evening and, so far, it's a big thumbs-up!

I haven't read through it completely yet, but at a glance, looks like it will be quite useful.
Artwork is top notch, especially the Ben Wooten peices.
