Background
Rashim grew up poor, living in a tiny communal home in a run down building in the Veins. He knows what it’s like to scrape for every bit of food, to have people treat you like garbage, to toil all day just to have enough to survive to the next sunrise. Having grown up in those sorts of conditions, he is no stranger to hard work; but he also loathes when he is forced to do said hard work. That is part of why, when he discovered a knack for locks, he fell into thievery. The awakening of his mental powers only exasberated this inclination - do you know how easy it is to steal things when you can move them with your mind?

Now that he is old enough to live on his own, and skilled enough with his lock picks to get by on the hard work of others, he has vowed to just enjoy life. Why should he not enjoy the fruits of his abilities? Why should he feel guilty over stealing from those who have more than enough to eat?

Despite this cavalier attitude, his conscience nagged at the back of his mind, enough that he began to seek other outlets for his skills. That was when he began to investigate old tombs and the traps that go along with them. This was an outlet just as suited to his talents, but not quite as looked down upon.

During one such expedition, he discovered something that would change the course of his life - an ancient shrine dedicated to the ancient god Khepri. Here was a god after his own heart, a trickster who looked out for the common man. Finally, something worth following. He began to learn everything he could about Khepri, studying Ancient Osiriani so that he could understand the things he found. As he investigated more, he found an entire subculture of people with a similar view, people who worshipped the old gods.

He still doesn’t make a big deal about his faith, his following of the trickster; luckily, Khepri wasn’t nearly as pompous as the others, and didn’t require any such foolishness. Instead, Rashim continued to live his own life the way he wanted to, relishing in the use of his powers, thriving in investigating the old tombs, and eager to do more. When they announced that they were opening up the Necropolis for exploration, Rashim immediately went and found a group who needed his particular skill set, and began doing everything he could to try to get selected to go exploring.

I’d like 5+ points that capture the concept and story of the character. More are welcome, but no less than five.
1 - Care-free - Rashim lives his life in a care-free manner whenever possible. He is not bound by ideology, by some over-arching need to cleanse evil or liberate anyone or any such foolishness; his life was his own, and he was going to live it his way.
2 - Fun - always a prankster by nature, and encouraged in that pursuit in his newfound faith in Khepri, Rashim lives for fun. Life is too short to spend it being serious all the time.
3 - Kind-hearted - he would never admit it, but deep down he has a good heart, and cares about other people. He will swear up and down that he only cares about himself, and some days he even believes that; but in the end, the plight of others speaks to him on a visceral level, and if he can help, he will.
4 - Practical - Rashim is a get-things-done type, and he’ll do whatever is needed to see the job done. He doesn’t tie himself up in crazy considerations; he does what he needs to do, when he needs to do it, and doesn’t get worked up over it.
5 - Thief - whether it is robbing from the wealthy or robbing from the dead, Rashim never really got away from his first path to food; if he needs it, he takes it. His thieves’ tools are probably the most expensive things he owns, and he cares for them well.

Two goals that you'd like the character to accomplish in-game.
1 - Make enough money to share some with the home that he grew up in. Despite his self-centered outlook, he has never forgotten that when he needed food and couldn’t get it for himself, there were people who took care of him and let him live when they didn’t have to. If and when he ultimately comes into some real money, he would see to it that those people were taken care of in return.
2 - Make a new discovery about Khepri. He doesn’t know everything there is to know about the scarab god, but he is always trying to learn more.

Two secrets, one the PC keeps to himself, and one kept from the PC. I'll come up with a third that both the character and player aren't aware of, in hopes of shocking surprises within the storytelling.
1 - He is incredibly jealous of the red or blue dot that casters earn by studying a known school of Osirion tradition. He too has studied Ancient Osiriani, and even has some magical ability of his own, but has been excluded from obtaining that stupid dot that everyone respects so much. In reality, he would give just about anything to get one.
2 - He still has parents alive out there that he doesn’t know. They think he is dead. When he was a toddler, he was involved in an accident, and got separated from his parents. They looked for him, but couldn’t find him. No abandonment, no evil plots, just plain old crappy luck led to his horrible childhood.

3-5 people that are tied to your PC by blood, love, rivalry, honor, etc. I'd like at least one enemy in a set of three or four, with no more than two for a set of five. PLEASE consider the players reference guide for ideas.
1 - The kindly man who raised him and fed him and kept him alive before he could care for himself
2 - The rival thief who lacks Rashim’s mental powers but is just as good with a lock pick
3 - The guard who hates him, who Rashim enjoys targeting with pranks whenever possible
4 - The old woman who is a follower of Khepri as well, and has taught Rashim most of what he knows about the scarab god

Three key memories that define your character as the person they are at the time of submission.
1 - The first time he successfully stole food
2 - The first time he moved an object with his mind
3 - When he discovered the writings that mentioned the prankster god of the commoners, that gave him something beyond himself to believe in

Finally, I'd like you to include with your submission a fear or paranoia that causes your character to shiver, cower, or panic. Anything from spiders to unexplained happenstance, but I'm sure you'll all come up with some awful stuff on your own.
1 - Real, living insects. Luckily, images of insects don’t bother him, otherwise he would have a much harder time following a god whos symbol is a scarab. If he were to ever see a real living scarab, though, he would try to stay as far away from it as possible.
