Still here and waiting.

(Male Degenerate Shade Wizard 1)

Sounds good to me Gylwinth. We've hunting before and we will hunt them again.

Ramar is ready to go.

(Male Degenerate Shade Wizard 1)

Graynore here. Still have to finish equipment. Roll for staring wealth: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Background

Spoiler:
For the father, all.

Ramar had a happy childhood. He would play in the fields and imagine the day that he would become a noble knight like his father. That changed the day his step mother arrived.

Arusia was an uncommon woman. Eluring and seductive but possessing no quality that Ramar could believe his father would desire. At the summer lunar eclipse, Ramar found the terror that was his stepmother. He came upon her as she completed the ritual that took his father's life. The dark forces at work left an impression upon him that night. While he escaped with his life, he has been on the run ever since.

Ramar now travels from town to town, with his father's sword, learning more of the abilities that awoke that night. He plans to turn the powers upon them all: his stepmother, the other members of the cult, and ultimately the object that possesses his father's soul.

I would be interested. This link is to a psion/psychic warrior that I was playing in another thread before it died. I would need to update to dreamscarred press.

I'm not apposed to one. These character interactions are still quite interesting. A different set of characters may be able to capture the chemistry again. As for interests, I think that a more sanbox type campaign works with our dynamic. Perhaps, Kingmaker?

"We can look around if you wish. I am in no hurry." Ramar walks with Ushari through the market while she looks around. He keeps one eye out for anyone following them.

As far as I am concerned things here are as normal as can be."

As far as you can tell she is being truthful to you.

Laughing, Ramar comments, "Well sounds quite alright. If you would indulge me, I am new to the area. What's the general goings on around this place?"

She turns to Edan, "If you are set on visiting the temple of Nethys, that would be a good time to ask about him."

She takes Ramar in her arm, and then says, "Ramar, we could swing by the marketplace, too, I believe they are still open, now?"

Walking with Ushari, Ramar nodds "Let's go to the markplace. Lead the way." Ramar puts on a simple smile as he walks with Ushari keeping his eyes open.

Ramar nods at Ushari's statement, "I agree. Let's make sure there is nothing else and then be on our way."

(Male Degenerate Shade Wizard 1)

Disappointed in the dead end, Ramar comments, "Well, perhaps we should try one of the other leads. Unless, 'Lina, where did you say that trail disappeared at? Perhaps Ushari can check out the area around in case of any secret compartments."

(Male Degenerate Shade Wizard 1)

Ramar looks to Edan and then to the admission taker. Handing the man a platinum he says, "I'll need some change. Edan, it is on me." Once they are inside he begins to look over the art for special significances.

"Yes, in the museum the essence dissappeared and when trying to find my way around to see if I could catch up to it I found nothing..." she sighed as still felt bad, but was glad and smiled as Edan made her feel better about it not being her fault. She looked about at the interest of the museum and she wasn't very confident they would find anything there and shook her heard. "I don't believe it would hang about the museum. Many people would've noticed something going on, surely."

Thinking a bit, Ramar comments, "Godelina, does your senses leave a trail with a powerful enought source? would that not allow us to track the evil?" Scratching his chin as he thinks, "What did you ask about at the museaum prior to detecting the taint?"

Detect evil is only good at showing up more obvious and powerful auras, like that of evil clerics, demons or powerful evil men or women like fighters or wizards. It won't work is say it's a simple peasent who enjoys killing kittens and is clearly evil or indeed a oppitunistic rapist unless he was of considerable strength. Not ot mention this man was so fast and my range isn't that far I might've missed him completely, but in my opinion innocent men don't run." she crossed her arms and smiled at his suggestion at the museum. "I am sorry I didn't find out who the evil aura belonged to, but it was gone before I got there. I would like to help you in your art in any way possible."

Having an idea, Ramar comments, "Godelina did you just say that what ever ran away at great speed? Would that be the same speed that our watcher was moving? If so, then to the museam we should go."

(Male Degenerate Shade Wizard 1)

Running after Ushari, Ramar comments, "Do you know how to track Ushari?" As he returns from down the alley, Ramar comments "Well, at least we know that we're getting somewhere. If we just knew what lead sparked the fire. I don't suppose either of you can track?"

(Male Degenerate Shade Wizard 1)

"Let us wait until it is dark and there are not many people about. Once we are sure that there is no one around, then we can knock on the door and I will put her to sleep. We can exam the home then. If they leave before then, we can follow them." Pausing, Ramar turns to Ushari, "What do you think?"

(Male Degenerate Shade Wizard 1)

Smiling at the little episode, Ramar looks to Ushari, "Shall we be off?" Ramar stands up and pulls out Ushari's chair as she rises. Once they have gathered their things, Ramar begins to head to the boy's home.

(Male Degenerate Shade Wizard 1)

Looking to the serving girl, "Please refill the tea. Thank you." After she leaves, Ramar leans over to whisper in Ushari's ear, "Let's finish up and return to the house. Leave these three to have their fun." With a sly smile Ramar sits back in his seat and finishes his tea.

(Male Degenerate Shade Wizard 1)

i'm going to be away until monday myself.

(Male Degenerate Shade Wizard 1)

Ramar gags on his tea at Edan's antics. He catches his breath and pauses at Ushari's reaction, then joins in with her laughter. "Despite all better judgment, I like this guy." Having a sip of tea, Ramar continues, "I understand your position Godelina but I would ask that you give us time to see if she can lead us to them. If we take her prisoner with out ample evidence, then the local authorities will likely take us prisoner. Allow Ushari and I the time we need."

(Male Degenerate Shade Wizard 1)

After the waitress leaves, Ramar comments, "Godelina, I do not believe that the true evil is in that house. They changed when they left the church. If there is some form of compulsion or if she is a member of a cult, then perhaps we can observe and be lead to the true evil. Just to be clear, the boy that I met is not in this town; he fled from me on the road to here. No neighbor has seen him in some time. There has been no indication that there is any immediate danger. Survelance seems the best option."

(Male Degenerate Shade Wizard 1)

"that sounds like a good plan Ushari. We can go tonight."
Pooring another cup of tea, Ramar continues, "Ushari is right. We need to follow the cancer back to the source. Perhaps you should head there now to see if there is something there. If so, Ushari and I should follow and see where it leads."

(Male Degenerate Shade Wizard 1)

"I'm glad to hear that everyone made some advances. We found the parents of the boy I met on the road. The mother denied ever knowing the boy and her home was mysteriously shut off and dark. The neighbor confirmed that the boy lived there, that the family has changed as of late, and that they are looking to adopt another child. The adoption worker was unwilling to talk to us." Ramar pauses to have a long drink of tea before continuing. "I think that there is ample evidence that something is going on in this town. We should stay together tomorrow or at least I should be the one to visit the local temples since they don't know me."

(Male Degenerate Shade Wizard 1)

Ushari Velnokal wrote:
"Ramar, I am not sure going back there is a good idea right now. We would definitely draw a lot of attention to ourselves if we returned there again so soon. Maybe we can return this evening, when it is not so busy. Most people in town retire to their homes, so we should not attract much attention." Ushari sighs, as she is hot and thirsty, and also getting hungry. "I don't know, Ramar, it seems like we have wasted our time, with little to show for it. We should see if Edan and Lina have had better luck."

"Let's go meet up with the others. It can wait till letter." Ramar begins heading back to the Lizard.

(Male Degenerate Shade Wizard 1)

"Ushari, let us be done with her." Ramar begins to head back toward the house. "I have an idea but it might be a little risky Ushari. If we knock on the door of the child's parents again, I can try and make anyone in the home pass out. There is a risk that other people too near will hear or see something. Please let me know if you think it is worth the risk."

"Thank you Lady Ivessa." Once Lyra answers Ushari's question, he leaves the temple and begins walking toward the Collins' residence.

While walking, Ramar stops with a concerned look on his face. "Ushari, there is something that I need to tell you about. I have certain gifts. One of my talents is that I can communicate with thoughts." Ramar pauses to gauge Ushari's reaction before continuing, "I think that it would be a good idea to meld our minds before talking to the Collins just in case. She had never talked to her at length but from what Edan says, she is a nice lady. Once they arrive at the church, and have tracked the whereabouts of Lyra down, she introduces them to each other, "Ramar, this is Lyra Ivessa, she is the one in charge of the church here. Lyra, this is Ramar, a sage and scholar. We are trying to locate a boy whose parents went to your church. He went missing not long after the parents stopped coming here. Can you help us find this child?"
"We'll if they no longer came here I probably wouldn't have heard about it, have you tried visiting the market? There is a posting board there for general problems, or you could see the Town Hall to see if they have any records of it."

Smiling as he strolls with Ushari, Ramar begins getting mentally ready for this investigation. Upon hearing the high priestess's dismissive answer, he frounds. "Mother. Ramar is staying at the Wicker Goat, you have all passed it during your stay here since it is quite close to the Temple.

A drooping wicker goat hangs above the main entrance of the wooden building, its belly long since fallen into disrepair and allowing a family of pigeons to nest inside. The Wicker Goat is one of the oldest buildings in Saltmarsh and is certainly its oldest tavern. It’s literally the first building travelers from the east see upon entering the city. Because of this prices at the Wicker Goat are a bit high. Generally, road-weary travelers don’t mind, but the locals tend to prefer the taverns closer to the heart of the city. The Wicker Goat serves a wide variety of ale, mead, and even some wine.
