the name of the book is the "Pnakotic Manuscripts" and it deals primarily with the dark tapestry. *snickers* Hey, at least it ain't the "Book of Eibon" or the "Necrocomicon", so we're good. When do we start making SAN rolls? :)
Sometimes I think fate is conspiring against this game... Varangian thens checks out the body of the ghoul proper to see if it has anything of use or interest.

So what are the different S and M damage listings on the weapon tables all about? And which should I use?
Well, that's the way we do it in AD&D PbPs. Roll damage for both size classes of enemies, the GM will know which one to use? Or aren't those damage size classes depending on the enemy?
I rolled a confirmation roll too; I assume this D20 rule still remains in PF?

"27 is minimum Cr 14" The Challenge Rating lists minimum AC precisely? In. is this from the GM Guide (or whatever its equivalent is on PF)? I'm ok with the gnome running away. I am also ok with him returning later down the line if a replacement player drop by, or even having a totally different PC being retconned into the party. How does a coup de grace work in PF? Full round action on helpless foe?
Jesus! An attack roll of 27 didn't beat its AC? PF has critters with better than an equivalent of AC -7 in pre-D20 editions running around at 5th level? 8-O I have to wrap my brain around PF now that I'm playing D20 again. Expect further outbursts like this as the game progresses. :-)
Great. And I re-posted over the previous post which described the action. :-p Varan screams a curse that would cause even women of ill repute to blush a bit and charges the creature pummeling on his fellow party member, intent on crashing his trusting bardiche on it.
Holy crud! Damn this dice-rolling system. Lemme try again:
Varan looks around curiously. "I sherley must be a-going blind. Mine eyes saw nothing, are ye sure ye saw some critters loitering around, friend Dalton?"
We're only one man short. Varan has no real idea of what is going on (and all those private spoilers for other players I don't touch too). Apparently Dalton has spotted something but hasn't told other what it is and Varan can't read minds to know Garenth has cast Detect Evil and what the results were.
"What is happening?" Varangian whispers to his companions.
"So many stairs..." Varan complains as he moves to lead the party further down, weapon a-ready and eyes well open.
If the player must be replaced it would be easier to recruit someone to take on an existing PC rather than make a new one altogether...methinks.
"Now, who puts dead persons in coffers? Queer'n'odd custom..." says Varan as he treks along to investigate the corpse nearer.
Ok, the issue seems to be fixed for the time being, but it is recurrent. So don't be surprised if Varan might go AWOL for a couple days outside the weekend in the uture and assumed I've vamossed. :)

I am having a ton of trouble with my PC. My webrowser keep crashing. This is the first post I've managed to make anywhere for about a day and a half. Posting may be slower till I get this fixed. Sorry guys.
His nostrils assailed by the fouls miasmas streaming forth from the room beyond the now-ruined door, Varangian reflexively covers his mouth and nose with the left hand even as he feels the bile rising within him. Quick action saves the day and his dignity; his stomach soon clams down. Good thing too! After all, it would do good to loose control of one's bowels, particularly through the wrong end, if front of his new companions. He exclaims something muffled through his covered mouth directed at no one in particular, which sounds like: "Ho'y caph! Eth shicks ihn heah!"
Varan moves to the appropriate position in front of the door and makes ready. Before the blow he humidifies his hands with spittle and rubs them against each other (not pausing to think that with all the raining going on there is ample lubrication everywhere already). Taking the haft of the weapon he raises it for the blow...

Varan walks to were Dalton is summoning, curious about what the Inquisitor might have to say about whatever he found. He mentions the portal he just checked to the other party members.
Giant in the Playground has PbPs too? Well, you learning something new everyday. And another noob inquiry. Why would we need rolls to chat with each other though? I don't see the need to make Diplomacy or Sense Motive rolls unless some character is trying to sell beachfront property to another. XD
When he realizes the blood flowing on the street is streaming from the corpses Varan shares his thoughts with the rest of the companions. "Seen plenty'o dead in my time. If these unfortunate corpses still bleed then they where done in nary a while ago."
Varangian starts readying his bardiche and cheks his suit of armor to see if everything is in its place. "Count me in friend Dal-ton. If it bleeds we can kill it, as me old pa used to say, ha ha!."
There is no equivalent of racial Nipponese or the Yamato culture in Golarion?
"Shopping can wait until later." says Varan as he follows the black leather armor man.
Varan replies to the question Dalton laid on the group. "Yes, let us be off 'an make haste." and with a head bow he takes his leave of the lord, "Rest ye assured Sire, we'll hunt the thing and get it done...or perish tryin'"
Seeing the man is obviously in a very disheveled state of mind Varan attempts to prod some more info out of him before his mind retreats to whatever dark corners it has been dwelling upon. "So the threat comes for underneath, my Lord? What more can ye tells us 'bout it? Where should we begin?" - he thinks -
I had to go to a funeral of an uncle who perished suddenly after surgery yesterday. Was out of town all day and when I returned at night the crap that happened in Boston was on the late news. Freaking surreal day. Gaming kind went off the wayside.
Answering to the lordling's wave Varangian walks up closer to him. After the inquisitor in the party speaks he raises one hand, palm open in salute, says: "Hail, yer grace! We be travelin' adventurers who seek to brave them dangers of Carrion Hill. Fell word of this region has reached far'n'wide about the land and 'tis plain there be truth to rumor. How may we be of assistance?"
Also, why is everyone making perception rolls before the GM asks, or instead of him? Is this standard procedure for Pathfinder PbPs? Just trying to learn the ropes here.
I forgot to ask: what the posting tolerance for weekends? It is my experience posting tends to thread down to zero on Saturday/Sunday on most PbPs.
