I have a question. . . One of my pcs, in preperation of an adventrure he fears he won't survive, said that he wants to do/pay for a way to transfer his "essence" if he dies, so that he is able to come back. I told him I would look into it. Is this possible? If so, what would be involved (process, cost, etc). It sounded an awful lot like becoming a lich, to me. Thanks for the help. I have a question. . . How do you set up a play by post game? I know that there is a recruitment thread, a discussion thread, and a gameplay thread. How do you link all of them together. Ive seen people use some sort of spreadsheet with the characters avatars on it for mapping. If someone could tell me how to do that also, that'd be great. Thanks! Hello all! I was hoping I could find a GM that would be interested in running an AP. Would be great to play any, save maybe Rise of the Runelords or Serpents Skull (have played some of both of those and they failed horribly). Was really hoping to find someone that might run a Legacy of Fire (I have a character in mind). I know that this is not the way it's normaly done, but I seem to always miss the thread when someone is looking for a player, so I thought I would try to find a GM myself. Thanks to anyone that's interested. I was hoping someone wouldn't mind helping me out by stating up some monsters for an adventure I'm running Monday night. If you look back at my previous posts, you are more than likely, going to see numerous posts asking for help. I don't do this because I am lazy, but because I work a full-time job and a second part-time job. I enjoy running the games and we are nearing the end of a long campaign, but it is just hard to find the time to stat up creatures for this level. Any help would be great! I'm looking for a 9th lvl gnoll ranger and a 12 lvl gnoll cleric. There are living in a desert setting and the ranger should have human and elf enemies. Also, I was wanting 2 vampires (1 mage, 1 fighter)around 12th or 13th level. Same desert setting. Thanks again. I have a question... I am running an adventure for a group of 4, 13th lvl pcs (fighter, mage, cleric, thief). I am having a hard time coming up with challenging monsters. The problem is that I have never ran games for characters higher than level 10. The past couple of times we've gotten together the fights have been, either, so uneven that the pcs have killed the creatures off before the fight has even begun, or the monster is too strong and they all nearly die. I like the idea of them facing multiple opponents, but I can't have 7 lvl whatever goblins running around. It starts to get a little boring after a while. Any suggestion would be great. I have the Pathfinder Bestiary and the DnD monster manuals. Thanks in advance. p.s. If you suggest anything, please tell me where to find it and the CR for it. Thanks. I have a question... does anyone have the stats for Ruthazek the Gorilla King? If not would someone be able to stat him up for me? It says in the book I have (Heart of the Jungle) that he is a CE male dire ape fighter 14. Also, are there stats somewhere for the charau-ka? I do not believe they are in the bestiary. How about a picture of them...since I'm begging. Thanks a lot!! I have a question... Who wants a challenge? I need an adventure for 4 players (12th lvl-fighter, rogue, cleric, wizard). Quick background...they were making a overseas trip when bad weathered forced them to an island for repairs. They have landed to find a tribe of natives, including the captain of a previous vessel that wrecked on the rocks nearby. The captain stay on the island and has become a member of the tribe. I need a one night adventure that challenges the players. This is the highest level game I have ever attempted to run and frankly I am out of my depths. So, dear Paizonians, I ask for your help. Write me up an adventure...please. The major challenge part, is that I need it in 6 days. Can you do it? Are you up to the challenge? I have a question. . .(if this is in the wrong place on the boards, could someone please tell me where it needs to go) If someone would be willing to. . .I need stats for a 11th level NPC. He would need to be either a full class rogue or some sort of rogue/appropriate prestige class. I would think that he would be either CG or NG as far as alignment goes. Carries a scimitar but no shield. He relies on his dexterity to get him out of trouble. ~~~~ His name is Masoud bin Ali (Binny) and he hales from Katapesh He prefers to be known as an "aquirer" and dealer of antiquities. He detests the common moniker of grave robber. He is 5'7, 160 lbs with long hair he wears beneath a brightly colored turban. He has a moustache and a pointed goatee. He is attractive and quite charming. He wears a scimitar, made of sharpened oryx horn, on his hip and one can gather from the fluidity in which he moves that he could be difficult opponent. Thanks in advance for the help! I have a question. . . I was wondering if someone would like to stat up an 8th lvl assassin (based on a human fighter), an 8th level shadowdancer (based on an elven thief), and an 11th level human wizard (a shadow/darkness kinda mage)? I love running adventures, I'm pretty good at plot, and I can fill a dungeon with the best of them. . .but where I lack is NPC generating. It takes forever and I usually put it off until last minute. Your help would be greatly appreciated by both myself and my players. I hate having them face cookie-cutter opponents. Thanks! I have a question. . . Is there an (realtively) easy way to copy the background sound files or monster sound files that are in the game, in the editor files. I used to sit my laptop on the table and loop the sound of a cave or the sound of wind blowing, but I would rather put it on my iPod and play it from there. Any help? Thanks. I have a question. . . I'm running a campaign with 4 characters (mage, cleric, paladin, and thief) and I want to set up an encounter between them and a wizard and his assassins. I want the encounter to be challenging, but don't want to outright kill the party. I would like multiple enemies. Also, the encounter will take place in a back alley near a loading dock to a shop (probably 40x40 area with some barrels, pallets, and other things littering the area.). What levels should the wizard and assassins be? Thanks for the help. I have a question... I am prepping a fight between my pcs (fighter, thief, cleric, wizard..all 11th) and a Mature Adult Black Dragon. My problem is, I've never ran a dragon fight before and I want to make it a great battle. Could anyone suggest how to run the fight? I'm always afraid that I am going to forget some characteristic of the dragon. How would you run it? What tactics would you use? Thanks for any help. I am looking for someone to write up some lizard-men for an upcoming adventure. The pcs are all 10th lvl (wizard, fighter, thief, and cleric) and they are headed into a swamp to confront a tribe of lizard-men that have been raiding a nearby village. I was thinking that the tribe would be led by a shaman, witchdoctor, whatever. The finally of the adventure will be a fight with a black dragon, so I don't want to kill them...just make it tough and interesting. Any help would be great! I have a question... I've been dming for several years, but the groups usually break up before we start reaching higher (10+) levels. Well, by some stroke of luck, this group has not went their seperate ways and they are knocking on the door of 10th level. How do you handle pcs whose armor class and attack ranges are too hard to beat with "normal" monsters. What becomes the goblin, bugbear, the everyday creature for higher levels. If the answer is as easy as giving the monsters levels, how do you handle the amount of treasure the pcs will be bringing in...dropped gear alone seems like it could lead to a lot of gp. Thanks for any help you can give me. Has the idea of discounting a product the buyer has already purchased as a pdf ever been kicked around? I love the pdf's. I love the instant gratification. I am glad they are there, because sometimes they have saved me money on a product I would have regretted paying full price for. That being said. . .I am also a collector. Many times I have downloaded the pdf and wished I had just bought the hard copy. In some cases, I have turned around and ordered the book. I would be more likely to do this, if there was some sort of break in the price. I am sure I am not alone in this thinking. How about it? So one of my pcs wants to build a house. How do I go about doing this? It has to be "cool" with escape tunnels, sliding walls, places to hide things. I need a way to figure pricing and time needed to do this. Any help would be appreciated. RaFon p.s. I have all the 3.0 and 3.5 DnD books, plus the Pathfinder rule book. If the answer lies in any of these, please let me know. I want to use "Howl of the Carrion King" as a filler game for a campaign I am running. The problem lies with the fact that my players are all mid 9th level. Is this possible to do? If so. . .would someone be willing to convert the mod to fit my players level? This is not just a question of laziness on my side. I've never been very good at converting adventures for different levels. I either make it way too easy or waaaaaay too hard. I would like the level progession to remain the same (if they should gain 3 levels, I want them to go from 9th-11th). I also like want to keep the creatures type pretty much the way they are (as much as possible). One of the biggest thrills I have is when the group runs into some mundane creatures (gnolls for example) and then are floored when the creatures start giving them a hell of a fight. Any help would be great...thank you my friends. RaFon Ok, so I am starting to prepare for the climax of a campaign that I have kicked around my brain for 10 years. The quick gist of the story is (and I know it is rather cliche) the Evil god of darkness and an unwitting mortal conceived a child. The child, following his father in evil, was torn body and soul by crusaders, and scattered across the world. Once the pieces are collected by a cult dedicated to him, he will be reformed and take over the world. . blah, blah, blah. My question(s) is: at what level would a party be able to fight a demi-god? How would you handle it? How do I figure out stats and powers for the demi-god? I figured since his father was the god of darkness and his mother was mortal (the wife of a pharaoh), he would have shadow powers, but beyond that. . . ? Thanks for any input. Ok...here we go. 1. Is there a process to destroying a lich's phalactery (it's a ring)? 2. Wearing a Headband of Vast Intelligence does not increase the pcs Int. score permanently, right? It's just for 24hrs. The skills [b]are[b] permanent though, correct? Do you have to continue to wear the headband to keep the extra skill points? 3. If you have a "magic" weapon (+1 for example) can you add more magoic to it, such as flaming burst or keen, etc.? Or do you have to get the weapon already "loaded"? What is the process for adding (if possible)? 4. Can anyone easily explain the spells, permanency, and Rary's Mnemonic Enhancer? And finally. . . 5. I have a pc (wizard lvl 9) that want to make a flute that when he plays it, works as the spell hypnotic pattern. Is this possible? If so, how do I figure out how he can do it (cost, process, etc.)? I bragged the other night at our bi-weely game about how I could post their questions here and the Paizonians would come to our aid. Thanks for all the help! I need some undead led, by a lvl 13 lich, to irritate my players in the finaly(SP?)of an adventure. The group consists of 4, level 9, pcs (fighter, cleric, mage, and thief). The scene will be a open courtyard, surrounded by a raises barbican. I know that the lich will be enough of a hassle, so I'm not looking to kill the players with the undead. . .just slow them down a little. The lich will also have her were-rat bodyguard with her. Any suggestions or help would be great. I use core DnD and Pathfinder. I have all the 3/3.5 MM and the Bestary for Pathfinder. Thanks again! I am posting this from work so it will be short and to the point. I am suppose to be running a game tonight and totally for got to do up stats for some major opponents for my pcs. What I need is a stat sheet for a group of goblins and some gnolls. This encounter is for 4 8th lvl pcs (fighter, wizard, cleric, thief). It can be as simple as 1 sheet for the goblins and 1 for the gnolls. I use the Pathfinder rule book and core 3.5 DnD. If someone is really ambitious they can do a stat sheet for a goblin "captain". Thanks Paizonians! Ok, since I much rather the Paizo community come up with ideas for me. . .I have the pcs doing a quest for a lich that they do not know is a lich. They are staying in the creatures manor. Where I need help is, what are some subtle and maybe even not so subtle ways that the pcs could come around to the true identity of their host? Any help would be great. Hey, I'm running a game this weekend and need a map for the adventure. What I'm looking for is a monor or some sort of walled villa. One that actually has rooms on it would be perfect. I'm also in need of a small dungeon or underground passage system to attach to the manor. Any help, as usual, will be greatly appreciated. Im running an adventure for 4, 6th level characters (thief, fighter, wizard, and cleric), over the weekend and I have been down with the flu all week. I need 2 wizards and a body guard or 2 as the climax of the adventure. I am looking for general NPCS. I am only interested in races, classes, and creatures that can be found in core 3.5, and any of the 3.5 monster manuals, or the Pathfinder rulebook or new bestiary. Any help would be great...please help me Obi Wan, you're my only hope! p.s. Please let me known where you find the info.
