We are working on the Players Guide to Kaidan. We are hoping to have it out before the end of the year, but it may be early 2018.

Hello Everyone,

My name is Miranda Russell, I am Steven Russell's wife.

I am posting all updates to our facebook page found here as it is available to everyone: https://www.facebook.com/RitePublishingFans/

I have received several inquiries from folks regarding the status of other Kickstarter Projects that are in progress. I wanted to just make it generally known, I am working with all the teams on all the Kickstarters to produce an update for each one. I want to ensure the information I am providing is accurate. Thank you for your continued patience and rest assured updates for all the other active KS projects are forthcoming.

Once we have all current projects in hand and ensure that we are meeting our obligations to current customers then we will begin to make plans for future RiP projects.

Please keep in mind that there are still numerous things in which I am dealing with personally and so I understand some updates and the progress overall is slower then perhaps to what our customers are used to, but our priority is ensuring everything we produce meets the quality our customers have come to expect.

Sincerely,
Miranda Russel

Yeah sorry for the delay real life created lots of delays at first for me, then for the editor, and then for the layout artist. Pathways #58 should go out today, and #59 will go out after Gencon.

I have to say in all of my 20 years of role playing I have never used a Treant as an npc while GMing, nor have I encountered them as a player.

Because of this book Treants will be a major civilization in my next campaign setting. I love this book it does so much to make Treants into fun and interesting characters.

That's the highest praise we could ask for.

What is the expected level for player characters at the end of this adventure? What level will player characters be at the end of the adventure path?

You will be 7th, though you will likely be about half way to 8th. It will end at around 15th.

Where the adventure comes to you!

Adventuring is hard! Inconvenient!

You have to find the dungeon, check for traps, set up camp, go back to town when supplies run low... Wouldn't it be easier if the adventure came to you? Now, with the Gateway Pass Adventure Path, it will!

Bring your 6th-level characters to two action-packed weeks at the Brighton Outpost in the Gateway Pass, and experience the intrigue and excitement first hand! Uncover conspiracy! Face bloodthirsty bandits! Hunt awful creatures intent on consuming the locals, and destroy them!

This story of betrayal, corruption, and revenge takes place on the frontier of two small kingdoms, in a small border fort struggling to return to prominence. When the player characters arrive on the scene, adventure follows close behind them. The Gateway Pass series offers opportunities for a developing location and regular NPCs as the characters discover adventure in their own backyard! The first in a six-part adventure path for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, come explore just what happens when adventure comes to you!

Funny how this pops up at about the same time as Hasbro (D&D owner)announces that it has given publisher, River Horse, the MLP license to make and RPG version of MLP.

Not really. We went more The Last Unicorn (the book and the movie) and stayed far away from My Little Pony (we leave that for Ponyfinder). This is about the traditional mythos.

Pardon me for asking, but is this meant as a joke? Like the 'Gelatinous Cubes' one?

No this one is dead serious, as we had a lot of requests for a Paragon Class for unicorns (Ponyfinder only gives you a race, not the ability to level up as a unicorn). This one is much more the Mythos of unicorns, The Last Unicorn (the move and the book), including cloven hoves.

Our april fools/humorous products always say they are april fools humorous products, This years was The Secrets of the Metadventurer. (which got a 5/5 stars plus seal of approval).

Do kickstarted projects bring an overall higher revenue than normally released products?

For that matter how about patreon?

Yes very simply because drivethru takes 25-35%, Paizo takes 25% (or 50% of print), and Kickstarter you loose only 5%, (and about 5% to bad pledges).

And that somehow doesn't favour the company's that do kickstarters over the ones that don't?

The only major player who does not do Kickstarter is Raging Swan. And I tell Creighton every time we chat (we are friends, he contributes to Pathways), that he is a IDIOT! for not doing kickstarter.

But again that is just IMHO.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Thanks for showing the methodology.

1. It favors folks who do releases more often rather than large mega successes like Frog God Games.

2. It also favors PDF publishers.

3. There also should have been 520 points added if you were say #1 in the top selling on paizo, which I Frog God Games has done. Because that's a lot of damn sales to beat paizo.

Regardless, a better way to do it IMHO.

Public money and customer data is out there for ALL Kickstarters. Just go look at who has the most backers that tells you who has the most customers.

1. Deep Magic by Kobold Press
2. Advanced Bestiary by Green Ronin
3. Wicked Fantasy by John Wick
4. Ultimate NPCs by Nord Games
5. Scarred Lands by Onyx Path
6. Southlands by Kobold Press
7. Rappan Athuk by Frog God Games
8. Spheres of Power by Adam Myers
9. The Lost Lands: The Lost City of Barakus by Frog God Games
10. City State of the Invincible Overlord by Judges Guild.

Now some of these like Ultimate Npcs and scarred lands are multi system. But so are a lot of frog god games.

But if you dont' think the biggest sellers are Frog God Game and Kobold Press your crazy.

101 Subterranean Spells is now available

Before You Go Underground Again...

101 Subterranean Spells widens the spellcasting choices for players seeking adventure in the deep places of the earth, putting new and unexpected opportunities in the hands of GMs looking for ways to challenge characters eager to explore the world below.

Cultures and races from across the globe entomb their dead in the earth; what nefarious powers seep into the rock from those necromantic energies? Weird and alien races, some of them never seen anywhere near the surface, have unusual powers rarely tapped by surface races—what happens when arcanists and alchemists perform experiments on specimens from those dark places?

Entirely compatible with the Pathfinder RolePlaying Game, 101 Subterranean Spells expands the spell lists of casters in the Pathfinder RolePlaying Game Core Rulebook, Pathfinder RolePlaying Game Advanced Class Guide, Pathfinder RolePlaying Game Advanced Player’s Guide and Pathfinder RolePlaying Game Ultimate Magic.

So while Owen K.C. Stephens of Rogue Genius Games (and Paizo and Green Ronin Publishing) who has written Star Wars d20 and thousands of other RPG products, was not available to be a stretch goal he has agreed to let us use the Dragonrider and and Dracomancer base classes he designed in In the Company of the Dragons (this is beyond regular Open Gaming Content). Now we will be doing a first person point of view write up on these two classes to fit them into The Lost Isles, and it will probably be me as I love these classes.

In the Company of Dragons Kickstarter (PFRPG) is currently 199% to goal.

You can currently play Chromatic, Metallic, Primal, Imperial, Linnorm, Ferrous, and the Outer Dragons plus a Mithral Dragon, Dungeon Dragon, even Faerie Dragons bring us 41 dragon types, plus this does not begin to account for the custom dragon you can create. This all before we even hit our current stretch goal (our 2nd, with only a little over 2k to go) of doing Psionic Dragons by Jeremy Smith (Ultimate Psionics, Psionic Bestiary) of Dream Scarred Press. Finally Bill Slavicsek of TSR's Council of Wyrms is writing our Foreword (yes I am a total fanboy), so come on over and check it out.

I agree with 137ben. There should be listed stretch goals and possible add-ons. I'm a backer because everything I own from Rite has been great and I trust the publisher. You should maybe brag more about previous work and the authors involved. I would recommend copying the campaign formats that Legendary Games, Kobold Press and Frog God have done in the past as they have had very successful kickstarters.

I have added a free preview. And added two of the stretch goals.

1st Stretch Goal $11,000 (+$5,000) 20k word adventure by ENnie award winning game designer Ben McFarland, who has done work for Paizo Inc, Kobold Press, and Atlas Games. This will be a 1st-6th level adventure where a group of dragons sent by the Council of Elders, must investigate an insignificant outlying island that has stopped communicating with the Council.

2nd Stretch Goal: $14,000 (+3,000) 7k word supplement about Psionic/Gem Dragons from Jeremy Smith of Dream Scarred Press Co-Author of Ultimate Psionics, Psionics Unleashed etc.

Okay, that makes sense. I know 'dragons' would likely grab me more than 'Lost Isles'. Or at least, I guess it would, since for me the actual things attracting me to this project are the fact that I liked the original, your previous work, and Wendall Roy's previous work.

I have one more question (for now). During the playtest for the original In the Company of Dragons, Jade Ripley released a PDF of psionic dragons, which were eventually part of the Psionic Bestiary. Someone else (not me) asked on the Rite forums if psionic options for dragons were to be included in In the Company of Dragons.

...
So now that the Psionic Bestiary is out, are options for psionic dragons going to be included as a stretch goal?

I can neither confirm nor deny that our third streth goal is one where Jeremey Smith of Dreamscarred Press is set to write a 7k word supplement about Psonic Draconic Hero's and Psonic Draconic Exemplars :)
