Dark Archive

Going out of my comfort zone and will go for the Mystic.

will fill in the rest of the details later today

Dark Archive

I like that kit Hmm... going to use it for my chars and possible tweak where needed be

Dark Archive

I will work out my char this week, have a funeral today and depending on what time I will be back I am going to be devoting my time to char creation (need to create 4 for SFS / 1 for PFS session this weekend)

Dark Archive

@hmm

do you want to run the AP using the PFS rules? or as in campaign rules?

I actually have 4 copies inbound... 1 pdf, 1 LE, 2x normal CRB (1 I will give to my gf and the other one I am selling)

oops, my bad, was using an old document, somehow it must have slipped in there, will update it when I get home...

just a heads up, one of my grandparents has been taken into the hospital and it isn't going to end well, so there might be a bit of delay happening, just not sure how, when etc...

Dark Archive

*sighs* hype train ran into a roadblock...

Paizo didn't pick up my cc for payments... so it is all halted... I might actually have to call the US to have this sorted to get everything in time, including my LE!

Hey,

Just got back from Paizocon UK. :) Was lots of fun.

@Imhrail: It is a 'unintended' side effect. I need to rework the sorting of several queries on the server side. I will try to implement that with the same build of the tracker that implements Starfinder Society tracking.

Managed to talk to Tonya about how to deal with quests. That some are 'in season' and some are not. I am trying to implement those changes in that build as well.

I am aiming to have Starfinder options live before Starfinder goes live, but at least 2 more weeks. :)

Awesome news about the starfinder thingy, glad you had a blast at paizocon :D Did Tonya say anything about hiring you to make this a fully paizo thing? :D

Finally...

Congratz to the wonderful news!

Just got off the phone with Paizo CS. Order processing (i.e. billing) begins 27 July. Shipping begins July 31 and all shipping is expected to be completed by 18 Aug. hope this might help a bit..

As for being hyped...

hype train inbound!

Reason why it will say that is because I used a replay on it... not sure how that works in the reporting but it will be fine, the sheet is what is needed :)

I would be willing to run something, but having never run pfs, I figure there might be some process to run through to become a gm. (I also need to know if I need to buy anything, or if everything is provided for gameday events)

If I don't run a scenerio, I'd like to play, but as I can't use google docs, I'd need someone to put me on a sign up sheet (any of the scenerios is fine with me).

Speaking of sign up sheets, why are all the table's sign up sheets separate? Wouldn't it be easier to have sign up sheets by scenerio (for each venue), then for all the gms running that scenerio to take turns picking players from the list? That way there is no confusion over whether players have or have not been selected for a particular table? Also easier for players to not need to go searching for all the tables of that scenerio hoping to find an open one? A single spot to check and sign up seems like it'd be easier for everyone.

Sadly it looks like most of the groups starting in August are full... I did get you on a sign up for GM Psyblade's second table (linked above,) but it doesn't have a listed start date or a scenario number. The only other open table with a definitive start date is GM Polanco Pepper's lottery above if he'd be willing to let someone who isn't a new player join it. There's not much else... I'm on two different sign-ups for starfinder if you want to take one of my spots.

Also it's been a very long time, but Qiu says Hi (to Noyata Sanobi)!

I am holding off on running a 2nd table for now till I get a pretty good grasp of some of the mechanics. Hence why I haven't started with it yet. More of a safety precaution for myself then anything else. Most likely I will run that one soon anyway seeing as I get some games in.

remove the 1090 from each players chronicle under item bought

and then put on my sheet
-4 pp to remove 1 negative lvl
and also put down that I had a raised death paid for with the money made from the scenario

With the money placed in and to be finalised by Jobin the doors swing open Broad steps descend into a large hall. Between two smoking braziers looms a red-veined marble statue of a humanoid with three eyes and jagged tusks, its twisted claws clutching a naginata. Beyond, two sets of stairs flank a tapestry depicting a titanic struggle between the same fiendish menace and a jade-clad warrior. Along the pagoda’s eastern arc, several burlap sacks slump haphazardly, while near the western curve squats a hefty, straw-lined cage. The twin braziers cast the hall in dim light. The statue represents the god Fumeiyoshi, while the tapestry depicts his defeat.

In the first panel, Fumeiyoshi is shown sundering a piece of his brother’s jade armor. Then, the Lord of Envy gloats over his fallen brother with the shard of jade held high, while in the final panel, Fumeiyoshi thrusts the shard into an arcane circle where it crumbles to dust, activating a nearby portal in a graveyard.

Knowledge religion(DC 15):
You recognize the depiction as Tsukiyo

Perception (DC 17):
you notice that the torn piece of jade in the second panel resembles a hare

Dark Archive

As a lvl 3, not many will have 16 pp laying around, Farith has 7pp spare, so the raise will have to be done by cash. So the cost for that will be 5450, Also will have to check what the cost is for level recovery.

I get the cash + pp from this scenario so I can remove the negative lvl as I will have 9pp after this scenario.

So let me know how much ppl are willing to chip in and I can see how far we get.

Dark Archive

The fact people in the thread here are confused about ranged attacks and what is happening makes it clear your explanations have not been clear or straight to the point.

Back to the point: Ranged touch spells can be used by a magus with his focal point the rapier.

As I have copied and pasted previous.

Another appeared since he turned visible. For what the characters know, not the players, another one appears. The other image has never done anything but laugh.

I never said that the image at the top attacked. The barbarian got hit twice, once with a shock. Then Dalsine appears because the invisibility was over.

I have been applying the rules correctly. My question was whether or not a ranged touch attack counts as a touch attack for Spellstrike.

*sighs*

no you aren't... he doesn't have mirror image prepared, he only has a scroll of silent image and that is used.

Also, the moment he makes an attack at Iso, the first time, there is no more invis and he is visible to everyone.

The proper way this combat goes is the following...

Laughing dalsine at the top of the stairs, no sound, 2nd dalsine is invis. During the period of 2 rounds that the players are trying to get answers the real one casts 2 spells on himself and then attacks, dropping his invisibility and being visible to everyone.

once that is done, the image at the top of the stair vanishes and there is only 1 dalsine, no others and no extra's. He cannot cast another image or anything.

Dark Archive

going to chip in here

you say this right here:
To the group what it looked like is Iso yelled in pain, got shocked and then another wound appeared on him as another Dalsine appeared behind him.

This is incorrect, the attacks happens from the same person, not another or anything. There is no ranged attack, no showing up of another dalsine. I feel like you are doing this encounter all wrong tbh and are not understanding the content in the tactics.

What is going on, for the people:

There is one dalsine on the top of the stairs that is standing on the top of the stairs that is laughing when the pathfinders enter. When the pathfinders are attacking that image dissapears after 2 rounds of casting... So overall, there is 1 dalsine, not 2. He cannot teleport, there is no another Dalsine appearing.

for Spellstrike:
Spellstrike (Su) Whenever Chalfon casts a spell with a range of “touch”, he can deliver the spell through any weapon he wields as part of a melee attack. Instead of the free melee touch attack normally allowed to deliver the spell, Chalfon can make one free melee attack with his weapon (at his full base attack bonus) as part of casting this spell. If successful, this melee attack deals its normal damage as well as the effects of the spell. If Chalfon makes this attack in concert with spell combat, this melee attack takes all the penalties accrued by his spell combat melee attacks. This attack uses the weapon’s critical range, and the spell effect deals ×2 damage on a successful critical hit.

Frigid Touch
School evocation [cold]; Level bloodrager 2, druid 2, magus 2, sorcerer/wizard 2

CASTING
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S

EFFECT
Range touch
Target creature touched
Duration instantaneous
Saving Throw none; Spell Resistance yes

DESCRIPTION
This spell causes your hand to glow with a pale blue radiance.

Your melee touch attack deals 4d6 points of cold damage and causes the target to be staggered for 1 round. If the attack is a critical hit, the target is staggered for 1 minute instead.

As a Pathfinder veteran, but someone who has never even once looked into Pathfinder Society...

What is it? And more specifically, what is Starfinder Society?

The Pathfinder Society Roleplaying Guild is a worldwide fantasy roleplaying campaign that puts YOU in the role of an agent of the Pathfinder Society—a legendary league of explorers, archaeologists, and adventurers dedicated to discovering and chronicling the greatest mysteries and wonders of an ancient world beset by magic and evil.

The campaign's home base is sprawling Absalom, the so-called City at the Center of the World, that stands astride the great Inner Sea on the mountain-capped Isle of Kortos. As a member of the Pathfinder Society, your chracter will explore the dark alleys and political intrigue between far-flung travels in the world of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. Each Pathfinder Society agent also works for one of several competing factions, all with their own motivations and secret agendas.

Play is organized into Seasons, throughout which the actions and achievements of you and your fellow Pathfinders create an ongoing storyline. Each season consists of numerous scenarios set in a variety of exotic locations across Golarion.

Pathfinder Society

And yes, that is a clear copy and paste, but basically, you create a char, can play it all over the world at FLGS, Con's, in a home setting etc. with different people...

I picked it up due to my work and being unable to commit to fixed game times.

I'm looking for a mentor to help me through my first PFS gm game. I'd be open to the mentor either lurking in the thread or being a player.

A little more about me:
I've been GMing a home game for about 2 1/2 years now.
I've been playing PFS games in PBP for about 1 1/2 years.
I have a GM star, but it's from campaign mode chronicles with my family.

I would like to try GMing a Pathfinder Society play-by-post game, but would like an experienced GM involved who I can turn to with questions and for suggestions.

Is there someone here who would do this, or who could tell me who to contact for help?

I can help as a player / lurker

Yes, 3 tables minimum. Hopefully this will help grow smaller regional conventions.

Also somewhat less complicated reporting mechanics than previous specials, which should allow a GM to also act as an Overseer GM without much trouble. At our local conventions, I often have to fill both rolls at once. After talking with the design team, they agreed that this would be a worthy design goal.

I like those goals :)
