Aye by the way thank you all for explaining this to me... feel bad since i could have got my answers on the book however feeling really happy that we the community ... well we are awesome.. thank you. kisses to you all.
Ok, cool thank you for clarifying things for me, I have only one last question which i not quite sure.
1 - while doing the two claw attacks what penalties are imposed? (the weapon fighting penalties? ) and to make it simple at level 1 do i apply my BAB to my attacks with my claws?
2 - While under the effect of lets say shocking grasp can it be discharged when i am doing my claw attacks on the next round? that question goes for any touch spells really can i deliver touch spells while attacking with my claws?
think i dont have any more questions really.
at least not at this time..
thank you all in advance by the way it has helped alot to understand these things unfortunately that area on the book doesnt seems very self explanatory.
Forgive me if this question sound silly or newbiesh.
1 - With the claw attack, being a natural weapon can i apply weapon finesse?
2 - i get two attack per round using the claws. what happen when i reach the level where i get 2 attack normally? can i do the claw attack and then attack with something else or even claw again?
I had a look at the previous post about didnt find anything that could answer my questions.
The wiki keeps getting better and is often helpful to fill in the blanks for knowledge Golarion. It's Golarion galore. (A verbal attraction once noted must be repeated.) Kudos, Yoda and everyone who contributes.
I know that PaizoCon organisers last year liaised regularly in the Paizo Chatroom, and I have emailed Lilith to inquire if we could use it as a venue for any necessary discussions?
Sounds good. I have just set up a paizocon uk yahoo group that I thought could be useful.
Our Meetup page worked pretty well for most everything. Does the UK have a British version of Meetup? Or would you just use...well, Meetup?
Make sure if you do, to just make a PaizoConUK meetup. The Paizo Fan Meetup's organizer is strangely absent and non-responsive to requests, which makes it impossible to update or change in any major way.
meet up works for uk too... but dont you have to pay?
I have had a hard time to find the qualification for role play games. James do you think you could you tell us if there is one? Are we suppose to use film ratings to gauge our content?
There's not one. The film guidelines just get bandied about since they're so pervasive and even they don't fit 100% exactly here. Thus, it kind of has to fall into the the realm of "we'll know it when we see it" for legal reasons. I know that's vague and probably will be until someone gets called on it. If you're concerned, a good (and obviously unofficial) sniff test might be to think if it would get your mom or grandmom's bustle in a bunch. If you think it might, that could be a bad sign. Or, even better, you could just give us a yell and ask.
Yeah agree whole heartily with you I have no worries my intentions on posting the pg 13 qualification was only as a clarification to stop people asking the ins and outs of things and putting the strain on james or vic.
In the end of the day if any one is looking to do something that would brush close the "adult content" it would be good to ask or let you know about it. after all whether it is compatibility or community use license it is your ip that would be annex to some crazy idea that you may not be happy about it.
Cake is a lie!? Oh god... *looks around for her portal gun*
My heart is broken into pieces... but at least I am Still alive
Now for everyone sake, if PG 13 is what we are talking about here is the actual qualification of it.
Spoiler:
A PG-13 rating is a sterner warning by the Rating Board to parents to determine whether their children under age 13 should view the motion picture, as some material might not be suited for them. A PG-13 motion picture may go beyond the PG rating in theme, violence, nudity, sensuality, language, adult activities or other elements, but does not reach the restricted R category. The theme of the motion picture by itself will not result in a rating greater than PG-13, although depictions of activities related to a mature theme may result in a restricted rating for the motion picture. Any drug use will initially require at least a PG-13 rating. More than brief nudity will require at least a PG-13 rating, but such nudity in a PG-13 rated motion picture generally will not be sexually oriented. There may be depictions of violence in a PG-13 movie, but generally not both realistic and extreme or persistent violence. A motion picture’s single use of one of the harsher sexually-derived words, though only as an expletive, initially requires at least a PG-13 rating. More than one such expletive requires an R rating, as must even one of those words used in a sexual context. The Rating Board nevertheless may rate such a motion picture PG-13 if, based on a special vote by a two-thirds majority, the Raters feel that most American parents would believe that a PG-13 rating is appropriate because of the context or manner in which the words are used or because the use of those words in the motion picture is inconspicuous.

I just like the Eberron paradigm of saying that there are only a small handful of people in the world greater than 6th level (say).
Golarion isn't that different. Not that extreme, maybe, but it's not crawlng with epic characters.

For a 15th level wizard to have a couple of 12th level lieutenants (who are famous heroes or villains in their own right) is fine, but that's different than having seemingly endless squads of 10th level fighters as faceless random encounters in a dungeon.
I'm not saying that every city should have 15th-level guards the very moment the characters reach 15th-level.
In fact, I recently had a moderate-sized row with GM over this.

Yes not crawling with Epic characters but i feel that the other levels should be more common then they are.
City like absalom should have very good number of mid to high level guards and not only good guys but bad guys too.
I used to be a secondary school teacher and I've done quite a bit of work on presentation skills, but hey I'm a GM so if that doesn't count as public speaking ....
Ah, well I guess our Seoni will have to dance... on... the... tables... ... o_O
Cheers! :D
I sorry but health and safety will not allow me to do that ^^
Thank you, you have put my worries to rest. at least at the UN level, as the sharia law is already part of the british law and i would not like to see anything else further being made part of it.
Sharia is most certainly not part of British Law. Where did you get that idea? We allow certain financial instruments that comply with Sharia (in addition to normal banking law) and allow people the OPTION of taking as divorce proceeding to a Sharia body rather than through the courts, but it isn't part of the general law, it's an alternative mechanism if people want it. It does not apply to criminal or civil law outside these very limited exceptions. In short, you can still blaspheme against Allah as much as you can against Christ, which is to say quite a lot. At least legally, you still have to contend with religious lunatics trying to kill you, but that's not something the law can do anything about as killing people's already strongly discouraged.

any how you are right i feel a bit misguided now.
Anyhow they may be not part but they are allowed to operate under british law or rather on the side of british law. many injustice have already been done in sharia courts in the UK specially towards woman.
As I understand it, and I'm not anything like an expert, they can appeal to the traditional UK courts as well. It's also true that traditional UK courts have performed many injustices. But in all cases, Sharia is only used if both parties consent. Now, there is certainly a potential issue of forced consent, but I'm not sure how that could be worked around.
I'm still waiting for Hollywood to apologise for U571, by the way. ;-)
EDIT: Jewish religious courts are empowered under the same legislation. As long as they abide by UK law, aren't involved in criminal law, and are only used with mutual consent, I can't see why either shouldn't be allowed.

in a recent inheritance dispute handled by the court in Nuneaton, the estate of a Midlands man was divided between three daughters and two sons.
The judges on the panel gave the sons twice as much as the daughters, in accordance with sharia. Had the family gone to a normal British court, the daughters would have got equal amounts.
In the six cases of domestic violence, the judges ordered the husbands to take anger management classes and mentoring from community elders. There was no further punishment.
In each case, the women subsequently withdrew the complaints they had lodged with the police and the police stopped their investigations.

If they are abiding to british law why even have a separate court then. I jsut dont think this segregation is required or even wanted.

I find it quite strange that only few of these logos are vector format. For example, there's only a drop shadow that requires pixel graphic in Pathfinder roleplaying game's logo, but the entire logo is pixel graphic. I have a character sheet which I'm updating to use community use package and I hoped it to include vectorized version of PFRPG logo... I know this is a small matter, but the logo has suffered a lot from jpg packaging. Sorry about complaining when this is absolutely great to have this kind of community policy =).
The PDF versions include vectorized graphics.
ah right didnt realize that png were not vectorised
Anything outside of the licenses will be required to contact the license manager in paizo then?
Yes. If you want to do something not covered by the license, contact licensing@paizo.com... but keep in mind that we don't plan to offer a lot of licenses like that. You'll need to have a very, very good plan that presents exceptionally unique and interesting product ideas.
Ok vic, thank you for your time and support.

aye jpeg is not the best, png supports transparency and the no detail is lost.
Yea. Sure. A city (or a section of a city, or whatever) should apologize for the actions of an industry that happens to be located there. Whatever.
But more to the topic: Did the movie industy apologize for making Hitler's Germany look bad, no. Did the movie industry apologize for all the racial analogies in the oringinal King Kong, no. Did the movie industry apologize to all the physically and mentally handicapped they made fun of over the years, no. Did the movie industry apologize for all the sequals to the Pirates of the Caribbean or Back to the Future movies, no. Did the movie industry apologize to the Orcish-Americans for the LotR movies, no.
What makes Iran so special that they feel they deserve an apology from the movie industry for? Their job is to entertain. Sometimes they make good movies, sometimes they do not. Sometimes they villinize those that deserve to be, sometimes they do not. If someone cannot tell the difference between a movie and reality, you should not have kids, let alone run a country.
Suggest you look at the Sharia law and Blasphemy Law that the UN will be making legally binding(It is already legal just not binding) to ALL it member states. After that EVERYONE will be require to apologize and EVERYONE blasphemy over religious belief could face prison. ANY kind of blasphemy so you laugh at a crudely made statue of a saint or some prophet no matter what reason they could bring a charge against you.
The one thing we must keep free is the freedom of speak dont lose that right, or there will never be freedom to anyone.
Portella,
The UN can't impose anything on anyone. If it could, the US would be bound by the convention on human rights which it has refused to apply as it outlaws the death penalty (making America one of the more honest countries in the world as numerous dictatorships with capital punishments and a record of human rights abuses that put even the overinflated accusations against the US to...
I hope so the thought of the UN making into binding decision to all its member states scares me. They may not be able to enforce it but the "victims" of blasphemy (so they say) can take the government(s) to the UN courts. Where it could be force to pay for damages and even jail individuals.
Just finished having a very useful conversation with Aston University. It looks like this is more of a possibility now. Best time for Aston to host it would be in July. In fact the weekend of the 11th/12th July looks good. So who is interested in PaizoCon UK at Aston University, Birmingham on 11th/12th July?
no problems here for me. Would anyone from paizo be interested to come? Of course it is not a must but it would be cool to have you here. Specially Hank his banana bread seems awesomely tasty.

It means you can only use the artwork as-is. You can resize it, but only if you keep the aspect ratio; no resizing it only vertically to cram the artwork into a narrow spot, for example. No photoshopping your friend's face onto Seoni. No adding additional flourishes to the Sihedron Sigil. No taking a map we've posted to a blog and adding in additional furniture.
Hm... that part and the part about only using art from the blog (I hoped you'd have a art gallery or database one day) means that I'll have to take most, if not all, of my wallpapers offline, right?
Vic haha now the questions start, just wondering if I get the community license can i later upgrade to the commercial license?
To be clear, it's not an "upgrade"—the Community Use Policy and the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Compatibility License do different things. The former allows for non-commercial use of some of our copyrighted materials; the latter allows for people who publish compatible products under the OGL, either professionally or non-professionally, to market them with a special logo.
If you're asking, though, about what happens if you have a Community Use project going, and then you become a commercial publisher, the answer is in the Community Use Policy:
Community Use Policy wrote:
When we say "non-commercial," we mean you cannot sell or otherwise charge anyone for access to content used under this Policy. If you make any commercial use of Paizo Material, your rights under this Policy will be automatically terminated.
.
So if i make adventures for pathfinder and post them for free on my site which policy should i be using? I would eventually like to charge for them so the "change" of policy would come when or if required.
We have just released the Paizo Publishing, LLC Community Use Policy, which will allow non-commercial users to create content that uses material from many Paizo products, and allows them to share that content with others.
Just as long as there's still a focus on the Adventure Path, and as long as I can call it a 'Players Guide', in some sense. I'm down with that. By all means expand to include more general information for the region that the AP is focused on, but the information on the AP itself is vital, in my view. Keep that coming!
I agree with my dear Uzzy (the queens avatar is pure awesome by the way).
So the revision is out it is a lot better the it previous incarnation. Their new business model serve them well and allows 3pp to make a bit of cash from it and that is all.
Anyway, did go and buy the core books for 4ed because i am a fanatic, however i wont be buying any more books then i actually need. plus i have found a great new system that allows me to reuse all my old books with out a lot of change which is great. and the this new system uses the OGL which for me is great because i may be making adventures to sell.
i think i have had enough for the time being i feel that there isnt anymore to say, unless anyone wants any clarification on the new license on regards to IP or what ever. I will drool over some of the books on the shop :D
I got a harrow deck (bought the other day) i will do harrowing for the GSL hahaha.
In order to provice some variety in enemies, it's hard to stay with humanoids the whole time, so there will be the occasional giant, fiend, or mastermind aberration to spice things up.
KaeYoss, what you say is true and has lots of merit. But jmberaldo does so also. If I catch his meaning correctly, its beings like Gragons, Demons, Devils and such that seem to end up being the final enemy which the PCs end up fighting in the climax.
I also would enjoy an AP (even beyond 15th Level) where the final opponents would be something else. Why not some other Human, Elf, Dwarf, Ork or even Halfling as final opponent? They can have levels high enough to be challenging, and/or belong to a dangerous and mighty Organization to challenge the PCs. One might even have to face of a high ranking Noble Traitor to the Kingdom (this might be nice for a political based AP). Just think of a political based campaign where a cabal of High-Leveled Spell-Users and their Sword wielding Captains plan to overthrow/kill/kidnap etc. the rightful ruler. Or taking a theme from some B-Movie-Fantasy-Pictures: Some of the above mentioned High and Mighty Villains kidnapped the Princess (maybe unknowingly) along with some other citizens and plan to take them along into a far away realm to sell as slaves or such. The PC have to follow in order to rescue the slaves or just the princess. (Which true blooded noble cares for the likes of a few kidnapped peasants anyway?.
Epic ain't always big Monsters. Big "Humankind" is so also.
An adventure Path has six installments, and will involve a certain amount of character advancement. Towards the end, the characters will be upper medium to high level.
In order to challenge characters of those levels, you'll have to involve enemies of a similar power level.
I can see this kind of thing working for modules, or module series (i.e. a "short path" of 3 modules or so), but it's difficult for a whole adventure path to stay low.

yeah i agree with you KaeYoss, short paths seems like a nice idea.
Short adventure paths is really a good idea. Only 3 books with 100p or so. So we can try more AP in shorter time. :)
A module has 32 pages, so 96 pages for a series of 3 modules. that is the equivalent of one adventure path issue.

That is such a dream job... you get to leave early to go roleplay... AWESOME!
Dude. Who the heck do you think is going to be like, "Uh, yeah, I don't know about that leaving early Lisa. We should really get a jump on that 2011 budget." :P
what games do you play wes? if you have a PF rpg character what is it?
