But where oh where will Golgothan Necromancers get all those dead bodies to animate?

UNC bandits, hopefully...

Wishful thinking.... Golgotha being the only evil settlement, and likely the most powerful (early in), UNC Assassins and Necromancers may need a place to purchase their poisons or train their dark arts.

We will not be closing that door, even if we are not sponsored or under any temporary contract. We can not make enemies of the whole world.

Maybe the UNC can bring us fresh bodies!!

There needs to be a log off timer if you are engaged in any kind of combat to prevent players from logging off in the event of an ambush.

Karnath's Hand: This CC is led by the Dread Necromancer, a viscount in House Karnath, and its members are referred to as Acolytes. This CC is responsible for the utilization and research of necromancy for the betterment of Golgotha and her citizens.

I've entered my application at paxgaming.com. If accepted, I'd be very interested in joining Karnath's Hand. Has someone taken up the role of "Dread Necromancer" yet? I'd love to chat with him/her sometime.

Regards,

Xykal

We have a few people in the organization that will be playing necromancers, myself included, but we can always use more.

Still evil, still recruiting. Come play with Pax Golgotha, we may specialize in war but we need all play styles to make our city great.

Goblin Squad Member

Could be get a break down of just what negative and positive modifiers necromancy and slavery may provide?

Goblin Squad Member

To reiterate what Morbis said Pax Golgotha is always looking for more evil players.

Goblin Squad Member

Even though we have joined with pax to found Golgotha TBH is still looking for members.

Goblin Squad Member

they can change the sprites to look like fluffy bunnies to appease them.

A way to deal with the server load might be that the escalation impacts DIs instead of the mobs actually doing anything. There are very minimal triggers in the area until players come along and kill them then more AI spawn that is appropriate for the escalation level.

Goblin Squad Member

Would an out of control escalation start effecting DI in nearby cities to show the effect of those hunting parties?

Goblin Squad Member

I was hoping that players would some day be able to create escalations in unsuspecting places. TO help their organizations or to distract rivals.

I can more redily see players farming escalations once they get a hang of the mechanics then letting new players run them to the ground. Its how we ran sleeper sites in eve. We knew all the triggers and would leave them alive to let the mobs that dropped the better loot respawn.

Goblin Squad Member

Good question. Going ether way wold impose an interesting game dynamic.

Goblin Squad Member

Nice post hobs. But the green hat predates anything posted on these forums. :)

TBH is shelving the idea of Nostramo for the time being and is joining up with House Karnath and Maelstrom to found Golgotha. We are still looking for more new members as always.

I do wish to ask. What exactly IS this? Golgotha I mean, and this entire setup. I am definitely interested, and have a Lawful Evil bard somewhere in a drawer, but I'm a bit lost as to what is going on here.

Golgotha is a LE city state that will be founded my House Karnath, Maelstrom, The Bloody Hand, and any other organizations that may join us down the road. Do you have a specific question for us or did that clear it up?

Goblin Squad Member

Best of luck to you guys in this endeavor.

Yay.

I could see them adding domain abilities/spells. that you could only use while within a half step of your patron good. But how could you measure piety? I would love it if I could go Reaping to increase my standing with the pale lady. but i cant see something that in depth being part of the mvp.

Goblin Squad Member

I'm a big fan of not adding more arbitrary sliders on top of the ones we already have.

Well since this thread has attracted the good and the neutral I guess its time for the bad to jump in. Hello to both of you, should you wish to join a pvp centric company drop me a line with any questions you have.

Sign me up for a willfully evil spot. Forcing the souls of the dead to serve me sounds like a grand plan.

Goblin Squad Member

While The Bloody hand is going to be assassinating quite a few people if I have my say we will also be raiding settlements/POIs/outpost and anything else that we can get our hands on. All classes are welcome not just sneaky people.

Goblin Squad Member

Welcome to our newest member. Happy to have you.

Goblin Squad Member

You could avoid the faction shenanigans and just have two CCs declare a feud.

Goblin Squad Member

A survival/perception check to find vs a survival/hide check would be appropriate I think. Shout the devs decide to go with the colored lines thing.

I must find a way to make a Green hat of face stabbing +1

Join The Order for all your face stabbing/green hat wearing needs.

Goblin Squad Member

We are happy to have both of your characters join us in The Order.

I would prefer there be no game systems in play at all with respect to Tributes. Attackers shouldn't get any benefit for demanding one, and defenders shouldn't get any benefit from paying one.

Agreed. To be honest if there was an in game mechanic that required me to set aside DI or influence to get tribute I would ignore it and just demand that I be payed completely bypassing the mechanic.

The only pink that is going to be in Nastramo is if someone starts up a cult to Slaanesh. Which is mixing universes and I am not sure how that would go.

Goblin Squad Member

Vezketh I haven't seen anything from you.

Goblin Squad Member

I'm sorry but The Order of the Bloody Hand's art is still the best imo.

Goblin Squad Member

Green hats actually.

So something I've been thinking of for a while is racial crafting. The idea that weapons, armor, and buildings made in the dwarven style look distinctly different than those made in an eleven style which is also different than those made in a human style.

In some games there are identical items that have different styles for different races. For instance Lord of The Rings Online where many otherwise identical recipes come in elf, human, and dwarven visual styles.

So there is a few different things I think we should think about in this context:

1. Do we want this?
2. At what point do we want this?
3. Should it be purely visual, or should stats affect it as well?
4. How will new racial recipes be learned / will your race affect them?

1. Yes, And I think the look should be influenced by the type of labor your town employs.

2. I would want to see this after they flesh out the combat systems and "classes"
3. No the stats should be affected, but it should be a minor thing. A dwarven building that influence stone work might cost a bit more and give higher quality goods then a human building of the same type.
4. The racial recipes would be learned from a training hall of that race i suppose. And i understand that from an rp point of view race should effect what you can learn to build but i am not sure that is the way to go in a game.

I have always been a priest of the Lady of Despair personally. The ritual of reaping has been a sacrament if have enjoyed for many years.

I personally look forward to running what ever they end up calling the evil cleric training center. That and using the undead as cheap labor and assault troops should those mechanics be implemented.

Goblin Squad Member

Still looking for more members to join the CC and more CCs to express interest in Nostramo.

It is unfortunate that only a few CCs are promoting themselves as evil. Hopefully as EE gets closer we will see more players show interest.

It is good to see that you are organized this early out.

Goblin Squad Member

Going to hve to wait to see where all the pieces fall before I will commit to an actual in game faction.

Goblin Squad Member

I'm sure it will all change again before launch.

Goblin Squad Member

Blue meaning having good standing with the organization if you don't play eve online. Also any merchant organization that sets up in Nostramo can expect a degree of protection from The Order. We understand that we need people to buy the things we produce and sell us things that we can;t make ourselves.

I wouldn't mind attracting a group of merchants who wants to make our city there home to take advantage of the undead/slave labor we will be exploiting as soon as these things are implemented.

Goblin Squad Member

I don't like your assumption that a NE city will let bandits attack anyone associated with them. While my company will be involved in banditry around the map we arn't about to "s@+# where we eat." NE hexes may be the safest places to be.
