As far as I'm concerned, this question is as appropriate as asking if you've ever run a table for all black people. What gender someone is doesn't change anything about how they play the game, just as it doesn't change if they're of a different ethnicity. If we wouldn't tolerate racial trolling on the boards, I don't see the need to tolerate gender trolling as well.

I think the question of running games for women to help overcome the stereotypes about women in gaming (or lack thereof) is a valid topic of discussion, but supporting those same stereotypes (by citing specific members of the community, no less) is what I have issue with here.

Graphic sex scenes aren't something we're likely to publish. I like a little adult content as much as the next gamer, but heaving bosoms and thrusting manhoods isn't really our business.

Homosexuality is a fact of life in Golarion. And like folks in our own world, people in Golarion have a wide range of responses to it--some positive, some negative, the majority not really caring much. People like what they like, and when you've got folks of entirely different *species* living as your next-door neighbors, I suspect the average person from Golarion doesn't see Jack and Tim being married as much of an issue. After all, Todd the human baker's elven wife is, like, 600 years older than him--that seems like a bigger difference to me...

The point is, we've left enough room that you can do whatever you want in your own game. Whether it's based on race, sexuality, ethnicity, religion, etc., both prejudice and acceptance are powerful drives for characters, and extremely useful to storytellers. If you want your gay characters to overcome adversity, cool. If you want them to feel accepted and normal, that's cool too. Choose what will make your players happiest.

Also, you can expect to see more openly gay characters continuing to come down the line, particularly in Pathfinder fiction.

Ok this has been building up for awhile so I'm going to try and get it out in the politest and most respective way possible. I'm really tired of the rampant complaining, outright and borderline trolling going on. Just because paizo produces a product or idea you personally may not like doesn't mean you have to through a drama fit and yell how horrible it is. Yes I can understand how voicing your opinion in a respectable manner can be constructive feedback to the company. But this is not what I'm seeing for the most part, I see whining complaining, outright fallacies written in long form post to try and prove how one person on the internet is right and the whole company whose job it is to produce high quality gaming products, (who is itself made up of mostly gamers I might add) is wrong. I see people being either deliberately rude, or just not having the social maturity to able to reign in ones emotions enough to bring your point across in a constructive way. Yes I realize gaming is something we are all passionate about but you don't have to scream in panic at something you disagree with. Part of being an adult is controlling your emotions and how you portray yourself. Specifically I see this with the 4e/pathfinder edition wars (play what you like and leave the other alone). The rollplay vs roleplay debate (Play the way you like and leave others alone), and now the new pathfinder MMO ( Play what you like and leave others alone ). Frankly I think we could all benefit from a little emotional maturity when it comes to posting on these forums, there's no need to drive poor Ross/ Gary/ Liz/ whoever else crazy over having to delete so many inappropriate posts, a good rule of thumb is if you think your post could be inappropriate read it twice, take a breather then rewrite before posting. This community has so many great people and great ideas, we just need to be more socially responsible for our actions and words. Thanks I've said my piece.

PaizoCon is now GoblinCon!! Everything is the same except after the banquet you get to burn down the building.

As a companion to Jiggy's earlier post about commending Mike Brock and Mark Moreland on all their outstanding work with the Society, I decided to create this thread.

I've decided I don't like their decisions.

I've decided that I can make a better Society!

So here are my thoughts for a true PLAYER based society:

1) GMs may allow up to 100 players per table. Up to an additional 50 will be allowed if the GM is ok with it. An additional 50 will be allowed if the Players are ok with it.

2) All adventures will be fully scalable for all tiers and class combinations. This means that a GM can always adjust encounters on the fly.

3) In order to make item #2 work, all PFS modules will be written by the same individual. In order to avoid personality conflicts, the name of this individual will be blanked out and reviews for PFS modules will be disabled.

4) Future submissions for Open Call modules will still be accepted. Each person who submits an adventure will receive a picture of Mark Moreland reading over a printed copy of the submission with a fine wine (vintage may vary). Despite what you may think, this will not affect Item #3.

5) Players who feel that Society play is too intense may always opt to play a pre-generated character. Pre-generated characters may be clones of their existing PCs who transfer gained items/XP to their 'Prime' version upon completion of a module. Clones can freely transfer gear, but only back to the original.

6) Classes with animal companions may re-skin them as desired. Since people may want larger animals, PCs can resize their animals and give them additional attacks as necessary.

7) In order to balance animal companion classes with existing classes, all classes can now take an animal companion. This companion must be played by an additional player (gotta fill those 100 seats ya know).

8) Animal companions may now take the Leadership feat as early as 2 HD. Their cohort also obeys rules #6 - #7.

9) As at least 80% (maybe even 90%) of the community consists of level 11 retiring characters, we'll be introducing a new series of adventures called "Last Steps". This three-part module series begins with the PCs experiencing the onset of venerable age, and culminates in an epic battle with the now wheelchair-bound players battling against Bertha - the cruel Venture Captain of their retirement lodge.

10) The Wild Rager archetype is officially banned. As a replacement, we have introduced the 'Civil Rager' archetype. More information on this exciting class archetype coming soon!

Seriously, if you thought this was in any way real... no. Mike and Mark are doing a fantastic job of running the Society, and I really do support and appreciate all their actions.

Very nicely done! Nice way to keep all of your character stuff together. It looks like you used Perram's Spellbook for the spellcards (I recommend y'all check the site out if you haven't already).

Please deposit your 72,000gp. Tires we'll do on credit, but we'll need a deposit for the enhancements.

I just wanted to stop by and thank everyone there at Paizo for these generous donations to our company! We'll be coming by to do free tire rotations for the whole office sometime in the next couple weeks. This was a totally unexpected gift!
