About Peltra Rutio

Appearance:
5'6", 9 stone 9

As a child, Peltra's hometown was struck by a terrible plague, killing many of the townsfolk. After being bedridden for a fortnight with a terrible fever, Peltra recovered, but was still beset by strange visions and flashes of insight. She could see misfortune before it struck, but was unable to stop it or even warn others. As if in exchange though, she found her touch could heal the wounds of others.

Her uncle had taught her much about defying expectations, and she defied them again by leaving for a Pharasmin temple rather than learn a trade, hoping to learn more of her prophetic curse. Temple work doesn't pay well, and hard up for gold Peltra fell in with a crime nods in Zimar. A few months of pretending she could predict where the guards would patrol left her miserable, and a jail sentence was just around the corner.

The border skirmishes with Qadira continued, however, and she eventually found herself drafted as a guard. Her hunches and feelings grew, and she found a knack for defending her comrades from harm.

Perfect Aid: Whenever Peltra uses the aid another action to provide a bonus on attack rolls or to AC to one of your allies, the bonus she provides increases by 1. This revelation also counts as Combat Expertise for the prerequisites of Swift Aid or any feat requiring Swift Aid.

Powerless Prophecy: Peltra can’t take any actions in a surprise round, including free actions. In the absence of a surprise round, she is staggered for the entire first round of combat.

Uncanny Dodge: Peltra cannot be caught flat-footed, nor does she lose her Dex bonus to AC if the attacker is invisible. She still loses her Dexterity bonus to AC if immobilized. Peltra can still lose her Dexterity bonus to AC if an opponent successfully uses the feint action against her.

Feats:
Bodyguard: When an adjacent ally is attacked, Peltra may use an attack of opportunity to attempt the aid another action to improve her ally’s AC. She may not use the aid another action to improve her ally’s attack roll with this attack.

Combat Casting: +4 bonus to cast defensively.

Iron Will: +2 bonus to Will saves.

Traits:
Sacred Touch: As a standard action, Peltra may automatically stabilize a dying creature merely by touching it.

Unpredictable: Peltra gains a +1 trait bonus on Bluff checks, and Bluff is always a class skill for her.

Warded Against Witchery: Peltra gains a +1 trait bonus on saving throws against the spells, spell-like abilities, and supernatural abilities of evil arcane spellcasters, and a +1 trait bonus on Spellcraft checks to identify spells cast by evil arcane spellcasters.

Doubt: Whenever Peltra fails a skill or ability check, she takes a –4 penalty on that type of skill or ability check for the next hour.
