Pavo had spent nearly the entirety of his life in the exotic embraces of the Emporium. The son of a destitute miner and his ailing wife, Pavo, with his naturally dexterous body and knack for learning, began working at the Emporium at the age of ten. While there, he made friends and tutored with many of the 'freaks' that made up the Emporium's entertainment. From Havrum, the Emporium's announcer, he learned how to speak with people and hide his true intent. Ol' Jerem the propman, a former thief from the city of Greyhawk, taught Pavo the intricacies of mechanics and lockpicking. Pavo's own work as an acrobat and juggler enforced his natural dexterity. The person who had the greatest impact on Pavo's life however was Janice, Havrum's wife and moral compass for most of the people who worked in the Emporium. She was the one who instilled in Pavo his core values and beliefs and when Pavo was on the verge of doing something foolish, she was often there to make sure the young rogue was able to learn from his mistakes. Where Pavo's kin didn't have the time or energy to see to his upbringing, the workers of the Emporium ensured that Pavo could survive in the world. As Pavo grew, he learned to care for the people of the Emporium as his own family. His connection to the Emporium was so great that his first love was one of the damsels of the Veiled Corridor.
However, Pavo wasn't content to simply be an entertainer for the guests who came to see the show. The young acrobat wanted to escape the drudgery of life in the corrupt mining town. Fortunately, the arrival of the Free City adventurers provided such a chance. Remembering the stories of the mysterious Whispering Cairn, Borden was able to face the day with renewed vigor. It was a gamble, but no matter the risk, Pavo was determined to face the mysteries of the Whispering Cairn and see if fate would smile on him enough to ensure his escape from Diamond Lake.
Brash and undisciplined, Pavo is willing to do what is necessary in order to support the greater good. His life in the Emporium has introduced him to many strange sights and people. As such, he does not discriminate based on race or background and can often be seen chatting with the 'weird' employees of the Emporium. However, Pavo is not fond of people in positions of power and doesn't like taking orders that go against his own values. The lessons Pavo learned from his mentors at the Emporium have instilled in the rogue morals and values that cherish free thought and value friends and family. As such, he supports those he cares for through thick and thin and is willing to bend the rules if it means working to acheive the greater good. While Pavo can at times be quite stubborn and focused, he occasionally misses details that others easily notice. Finally, Pavo seems to possess a firm sense of self learned from years of performing in front of the crowded halls of the upper floors of the Emporium.
Pavo's slim frame is decked out in supple, dark brown leathers and dagger hilts can be seen poking our from the top of his right boot and a sheath strapped to his left forearm. His blue eyes and slightly tanned complexion is framed by short, light brown hair. Though his slim form doesn't exhibit much in the way of muscle and he easily succumbs to the influence of drink, Pavo has a toughness that is surprising for such an agile man.
