We have an Oracle of Lore in our Kingmaker game. She has the Sidestep Secret, the extra revelation feat and Lorekeeper. We're only at 1st level (just started playing yesterday). This definitely falls under your GM's judgement, but in case your GM wants to know what others think, I vote for letting the circlet apply. You've taken a feat and applied an ability that works with your Charisma, in which you've obviously invested heavily. The Circlet fills a body slot, so you're focusing even more of your resources into that ability score. I think you should be able to benefit from that combination. Aberzombie wrote:
Glad you saw it. We were very pleased with how Christmas turned out. The girls didn't get a huge haul of stuff, but they were very happy with what they got, so it was a big win. I can't access YouTube from work, but when I get home, I'll post the link to the video here, so I can share it with the FAWTLs who don't use FB. ::looks meaninfully at FhDM:: ;) Celestial Healer wrote: What did the FAWTLies get for Christmas? I got the joy of seeing my daughters squeal with excitement over their gifts from Santa. They got exactly what they wanted, this year. (Zoobles for Tatiana and a set of dragon figurines for Natasha.) Oh...and we're also going on a Disney cruise next week. ;) The Jade wrote:

I'm not sure if it helps, but I'm probably not alone in this, so I'll share: Personally, I can tell when life's stresses are reaching a high point when the Zombie Apocolypse Dreams start up. For me, zombies are the perfect symbol for unrelenting stress...they just. Never. STOP! I've also found myself in a few dreams where I've been the one infected, but usually the "bad dream" portion involves having to tell my wife and kids that I'm never coming home. Being in the Navy, I'm sure there are concerns about deployments buried in the symbolism, there. By far, the worst ones are when my children get infected. Thankfully, those don't happen very often. I guess my subconscious knows there are some places even it shouldn't go. ;-) Emperor7 wrote:
Weird. My sister's birthday is Dec 21, also. For some inspiration, you can take a look at the Boreal Sorcerer Bloodline. You could also consider giving clerics access to the Ice and Wind Subdomains. Ice is a subdomain of Water and Wind is a Subdomain of Air, but they go well together in the context of Winter. 0gre wrote: Clearly some animals should get heal as a class skill :D The ability to locate stranded skiers and deliver copious amounts of brandy certainly qualifies them as saints, in my opinion. But they're still not doctors. ;) richard develyn wrote: Ok, even given that, I understand the maths, its simply the logic of allowing Heal to be a class skill which I'm arguing for. It would seem *very* fundamental to just about everything alive. I would think that the "use untrained" aspect is more reflective of its fundamental nature than making it a class skill. Class skills are those in which you receive specialized training. Additionally, you don't get that +3 bonus unless you take ranks in the skill, either. In my view, wild animals may be a bad example. Yes, they can staunch bleeding from superficial wounds and survive some accidents that would seem pretty serious, but they can't close a grievous wound from an arrow or other weapon. Additionally, they can't really be trained in advanced healing techniques, so giving them a rank in Heal is a bit of a stretch for me. Giving them a chance to stop bleeding with an untrained skill check (i.e., Wisdom check) is sufficient. For creatures of higher intellect, understanding how to properly clean and treat wounds would give them a better chance to stop bleeding, etc. That's where ranks in the Heal skill would come in, in my opinion. Cool. And, I thought at least passing knowledge of The Doctor was required for participation on the boards. ;-) Fatespinner wrote:
I consider this something of a flavor item. Most of my players have chosen to have specific creatures they summon, going so far as to name their summoned badgers, etc. It's not required, but there's nothing in the rules that says you don't summon the same creature(s) each time. Death of the creature on one plane would merely send it back to its home plane where it is reborn. (I think the choice of the term regenerate is misleading here. It's not the same as the Regeneration special ability.) However, I would say that contact with an orb of oblivion or similarly destructive force would actually destroy that particular creature, no matter what plane it's on. In that case, the next time you summon a creature of that time, it will have a different identity. Again, that's all flavor, really, and should be up to individual gaming groups to decide. I'm finding that my daughter Natasha's love of dragons (and all the other things that "Daddy likes") is making me feel like a kid, again, too. For example, after placing the order for the various Safari dragon figurines for her Christmas present, I get really cool recommendations when I log into Amazon. Check out these awesome figures: Two-headed red dragon and Tiger Man! These things are too cool! Freehold DM wrote:
That's too bad. I suppose there is elitism even among elites, isn't there? I mean, it's not like "dumb people" can really develop an understanding for the complexities of the d20 system, either, but there're always going to be those who need to feel that their game of choice is superior. Whatever. I enjoyed playing Deadlands when it first came out, but not really because of the system. It was fun, but my enjoyment was due mostly to the fact that Shane Hensley was running the games for our friends in Blacksburg, VA. I got to participate in the origianl playtesting and even got a playtest credit in the rulebook. I just never did anything with it after that. Oh...and as for shipping, I'll have to check and let you know. I'm sure I could manage a few of those flat-rate boxes. I think I have several in the garage, after my brief foray into eBay sales a couple of years ago. I'm at work, now, but I'll try to get a list of available titles posted when I get home this afternoon. My wife will sincerely appreciate having one more box of stuff cleared out of the garage. ;-) Urizen wrote:
No. As a matter of fact, I've kept the Witchblade Trilogy of modules for my own. It's the only Iron Kingdoms product I own. The stuff I donated was all WotC, Legends & Lairs, or AEG supplements. As for the Deadlands stuff, it's all the original Deadlands (1990s) products, but most of what I have left is from the "Hell on Earth" product line. Crimson Jester wrote:
Thanks, guys. If either of you (or anyone else, here) can put these items to use, I'm glad to share them. I can put together a specific list of what I have, just in case you are interested. I took another look in the box and it's basically a bunch of the Deadlands: Hell on Earth books, an opened, but unused box set for "The Great Railwars" game, and several original Deadlands pewter minis (still in their blister packs). Sharoth wrote:
Sorry, Sharoth. I knew I was taking a risk posting the news, here. Unfortunately, this is stuff that's been sitting on my shelves for some time. If I had come up with a reason to hold onto them any longer, I'm not sure they ever would have left. In related news, I realized a few moments ago that I left a box of books in the garage. Therefore, I have a bunch of original Deadlands RPG items I haven't offloaded. Anyone want them? If you agree to pay for the shipping, I'll box them up and send them to you. I have officially reached the end of an era. This afternoon, I handed over the last of my D&D 3.0/3.5 materials to Goodwill. I made the decision with only a little bit of difficulty. The fact is that I haven't cracked open a 3.5 or earlier edition book since Pathfinder came out. I'm "losing" a lot of source material, since I had a lot of the Fantasy Flight "Legends & Lairs" and Alderac Entertainment Group books, but given how much time I really do have to plan a campaign the Pathfinder books already provide more information there than I can realistically use. Everything else was just taking up space. My hope is that some gamer can spot a great deal on good books in great condition and make use of them while helping out the Goodwill, as well. Yeah. I'm kind of the same way. Some might say that I spend a lot on Paizo products, but other than Hero Labs data sets (which, of course, support Paizo products), I don't spend a lot of money on other stuff. I've got tons of D&D Miniatures, which fit most of my mini needs when they arise, so I haven't had a need for much else. I keep thinking that I'm going to get d20Pro or some other online gaming setup, but I haven't done it, yet. Jeremy Mcgillan wrote:
That's really cool, Jeremy. I've been thinking about something like this for quite some time. Unfortunately, I have a hard time justifying the purchase. I'm subscribed to every Pathfinder and Gamemastery product, right now, which means that I have WAY more stuff than I can use. I don't game often enough to put this stuff to use. Just looking at them gives me great ideas for scenarios and adventures, but I can't always put those ideas into action. A good example is the scenario I came up with for my daughters using some of my D&D Minis and the Darklands and Dragon's Lair flip-mats. I just went through my minis and picked out ones that fit a certain theme (the girls' enemy being the dreaded Firelords), then made up a 4-encounter scenario to go with it, using the flip-mats as the setting. The girls had fun, but we used 10th level characters, so most of the abilities were way over their heads. Bottom line: I would like to play/GM more, so I can use more of this cool stuff. And...if I can't use the cool stuff I have, I can really make a good argument for buying more toys for my RPGs. ;) As an aside, I really would like to see more of Paizo's Gamemastery products tie directly into the adventure paths and modules. Some people might think it's cheesy advertising, but I like seeing the references to flip-mats, map packs or other Gamemastery products I can use to enhance an adventure. Jeremy Mcgillan wrote:

I'm going to get myself in trouble. My wife made it very clear that she didn't want a gift, because we're going on a cruise at New Years and that's supposed to be our Christmas gifts. However, she later mentioned that she wanted a new food processor...so I got her a KitchenAid food processor with all the accessories for Christmas. I figure of things to get in trouble for...that's pretty much okay. ;-) PS - Thanks to Kirk for sharing more "facts" about me. Always makes me smile. Bob Sothoth wrote:

Huh. My gaming group doesn't do the gnoshing-while-gaming thing very well. We've had 8-hour gaming sessions with nothing more than a bag of potato chips and a few fruit chew candies. The supply of soda (including the original-style Pepsi made with cane sugar) is plentiful and much appreciated, though. ;) Ninja'd on the Vermin Heart feat, but Bertious is right. This is a must-have for any shaman that works with spiders or other vermin spirits. Aberzombie wrote: Sadly, the closest mall that I know of is a bit too far away from work. All we've got close by is stuff like Target, Best Buy, Linen's and Things, Lowes, and Ikea. I will probably end up at the Best Buy near our house eventually, since one of the gift cards I was going to get her is i-tunes, but since the other gift card I was planning is Barnes and Noble, it makes more sense to wait and go to the BB near our house, which is right near a B&N. If you are going with gift cards, would you have the option of going to a grocery store? Sounds tacky, I know, but the stores in my area have little kiosks with lots of different card options...including ones from other retailers. lynora wrote:

And no, thank you, I don't have time for tea. True story (this is strange, random and is another example of how my brain does strange, random things...so it seemed fitting to share here): Spoiler:
Being underway on a Navy ship and in a position where I have to stand a rotating watch, I occasionally (okay, frequently) find myself up at very late hours after having slept very little. That kind of schedule can have a serious impact on my mental state, a situation that has not improved with my ever-increasing age. (I'm almost 40...oh, gawd...did I just type that? Anyway.)
The other night, as I was preparing to turn over the watch at 2am, having been up for almost 30 hours, I briefly drifted into semi-consciousness while actually talking to someone. Fortunately, that someone was distracted by another report and wasn't really paying attention, so all they know is that I looked very tired and muttered something unintelligible before snapping suddenly awake, laughing and shaking my head. If they had actually heard and understood what I'd muttered, they'd probably think I'm crazy. I mean, I may BE crazy, but I can't have too many people thinking that. ;) You see, what my sleep-deprived brain conjured up, completely unbidden, in the midst of watch turnover in the combat information center of a US Navy warship was, "The Queen of Hearts still wants her tarts." I still have no idea why. Have a great day, FAWTLs! Emperor7 wrote:
