With the upcoming EE11 settlement changes, PFU has decided to close our auction house. Just like when any business closes, we want to have a spectacular sale (but this one is a little different).

Details:

As always, we have starter gear in the auction house for rock bottom prices (last check there were 9 swords for 1c each). Please realize those are there to help new players, so be respectful (i.e. don’t buy them just to horde them as others need them). We will try to keep our ‘vending machine’ stocked.

We will also be listing other items as we clean out our basement, so there will be maneuvers, spells, etc. Anything not starter gear will be at lower than market prices, but not 1c. :)

BUT>>>>>

We will be BUYING EVERYTHING! This is your chance to clean out your bank and use those mules. We will buy degraded, or any other type. Just list the items below for the prices listed, and we guarantee they will sell. Anything not listed, we will buy for 1c each. (refilling the vending machine). That means leftover anything, 1c (recipes, salvage, raw, refined, even tansy leaves, only thing we will not buy are tokens).

Tier 1 Raw (Any material that can serve for these go for the same price including salvage)
Animal Pelt 5c
Beast Pelt 5c
Coal 8c
Copper 5c
Green 8c
Hemp 8c
Iron 8c
Lesser Vital - 5c
Pine 5c
Weak Adhesive 8c
Weak Acidic - 5c
Weak Antiseptic - 5c
Wool 5c
Yellow 8c
Yew 5c

Tier 2 Raw
Anagogic Essence 10c
Blue 10c
Creature Pelt 10c
Gold 10c
Lodestone 10c
Moderate Adhesive 10c
Moderate Sanguine - 15c
Moderate Stimulant - 10c
Moderate Tonic - 10c
Oak Log 10c

We have listed saddlebags on both the TK and UC auction houses for 3 Silver, so you can load up both ways! Plus mules are fun! (listed under Consum, Follower)

***NOTE: You may be able to get higher prices elsewhere in the map, but this is what we can offer at University Commons, especially when we are committing to buying everything. Location does matter.

***We will update this post as things fill up (which may mean the prices lowering) or if you manage to run us out of Gold….

So with the new influence system giving backdated influence as of April 1st, every player should try to join a company before then (ie right now). Besides the influence you also gain better training and a group to travel with. There is a forum for recruitment here. You do not have to move all of your treasures from Marchmont or the like but being part of a company is being part of the game. Just about all companies are actively recruiting (including Pathfinder University) and the best gift you can give them is to join before April 1st.

About the Pathfinder University – PFU

Pathfinder University (PFU) is a company and home for new players (in their first 90 days) that provides support, training (including regular classes) and fun for those who are just learning PFO. A player can only be a member of the Pathfinder University for their first 90 days. After their first 90 days they need to move to another company in PFO (they are welcome to leave at any time). The intent of the Pathfinder University is to give people a place to grow, try things out, and then move to the right company/settlement for them. Pathfinder University will be a collaborative (sharing in resources and supplies) and will have regularly scheduled events and classes.

PFU holds daily classes or events. All of them meet on the university mumble: golarion.mumble.com port 3093. You can download the mumble client at http://www.mumble.com The class schedule/list is at http://class.pathfinderuniversity.com and recordings of some of the classes are available at http://youtube.pathfinderuniversity.com.

Pathfinder University holds RiverBank as a training grounds for those who want to try out settlement mechanics and the like. RiverBank (University Commons) is an unaligned, neutral settlement located in the South West Plains [-09.18]

Pathfinder University will have an officer structure to allow people a chance to lead the company but will ultimately report to PFU Faculty. In this way the PFU Faculty are the only ‘permanent’ officers of the

To join PFU, click on the tower icon in the top left, put PFU in search bar, hit return, select Pathfinder University and then click apply.

Rules of the Pathfinder University
• No PVP within RiverBank or the six core hexes surrounding RiverBank unless it is in a tower pvp window or a Pathfinder University sanctioned event (i.e. a class on PVP).
• Pathfinder University is not allowed to take any towers, unless as part of a class.
• We follow the two rules of RiverBank: 1. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you and 2. Don’t be a jerk.
• Pathfinder University members are not allowed to make or sign any treaties or long term agreements. Trade agreements or the like must be time limited (i.e. no more than 90 days).
• Donate what you don’t need to others. PFU takes donations from everyone and tries to give them items they need in return. (pay it forward)
• Being part of Pathfinder University is a privilege and subject to following the rules above.

Pathfinder University Faculty staff the help channel, RiverBank and the University mumble.

Join the Pathfinder University channel

If you haven't tried Mumble it is a voice chat program that can be downloaded here. You do not have to have a microphone for your computer as you can still type, but at least you will be able to hear the conversations. If you have trouble with mumble, their support page is here.

If you cannot get on Mumble, we will also be providing support in the Help channel (just click on the help tab and it should come up). Keep in mind that when you are in help you cannot see any whispers, so occasionally look in hex or local. To send a whisper type /w charactername, message (the comma is important) and to reply you can just type /r message.

Additionally, I (and others) will be in and/or around RiverBank to help players. That means if you need gear (FREE to new players), want to go exploring, or just want to meet someone in game, come to RiverBank. To get to RiverBank, Press M for map, look towards the SouthWest for RiverBank. Double click on RiverBank and that will drop a pin that you can follow on your minimap and start running. To continuously run hit R and you can then sprint by hitting Ctrl.

As a side note, most everything is in the encyclopedic 'Cheatle's Guide'. This guide is both a guide itself and a guide to guides. For those who prefer more pictures and a prettier guide, check out SSpitfire's guide. There is also a guide for your first 15 days here.

If you have questions about PFU, please feel free to contact Hoffman Grand Master of PFU.

Pathfinder University also accepts companies as members.

If you are an unaligned company and looking for a home, you and your company can join PFU for 90 days. This will give you a settlement to work out of (RiverBank) along with advanced training. You need to abide by all university rules but there are opportunities for you to build your company before finding your final ‘home. Contact Hoffman Grand Master of PFU.

It is time to break the chain. As part of its neighborhood beautification project Pathfinder University is holding an event to clear the escalation south west of Hope's End (-11.14). We will be meeting in the hex at 3PM Eastern (2 hours after server reset) Today Sunday March 29th.

Join us on the University mumble at golarion.mumble.com port 3093. You can download the mumble client at http://www.mumble.com. You do not have to have a mic to use mumble as you can listen to the coordination and type as needed.

This is a Pathfinder University sponsored event. That means no PVP in the hex, and PFU will be providing supplies for anyone who needs it (we will be opening the RiverBank bank to provide supplies). We do ask that if you join the event to donate the stuff you don't need to the University but no requirement.

Pathfinder University is a company for new players in their first 90 days. We hold daily events, and welcome everyone. Our classes are open to everyone, and the schedule is at http://class.pathfinderuniversity.com

Pathfinder University is proud to announce that we will have a keep side chat with Goblinworks Stephen Cheney Wednesday, 4/1 at 8PM Eastern on the Golarion Mumble.

Stephen has agreed to answer our questions (as best as he can) and Hoffman will be the moderator. What that means is you can post your questions here, PM them to Hoffman and/or ask them via PM in Mumble during the event. I am going to try to ask Stephen questions that impact the most players first, and during the event will be watching Hex chat for follow up questions.

Bottom line details:

With the new patch Bandits (and most others) are getting a LOT harder. With that in mind, Pathfinder University has decided to Break the Broken Men (specifically at -7,16 (two hexes North East of RiverBank)) today, Sunday, 3/22 at 3PM EST.

Join us and wipe out those filthy bandits. Bring a group down, or just yourself and rid the River Kingdom of this scourge.

We will be on the University mumble at golarion.mumble.com port 3093. I will be playing one of my alts, Ninti so you can also whisper me there. The last time we invited the server to do an escalation was a lot of fun and this one should be able to be joined by all.

Government and politics debate - Wednesday 3/18, 9PM EST University/Golarion Mumble - Golarion.mumble.com port 3093.

Current Panel is: (Panel please show up 10 minutes early for check-in)

Omnipotentseal - Aeonian League
Cheatle - EBA
Thod - Emerald Lodge
Fanndis Goldbraid - Free Highlanders
Tigari - Golgotha/EoX
Azure_Zero High Road Covenant
Bluddwolf - Nation of Kathalphas

Based on feedback and suggestions, the session will go as follows:

Everyone on the panel will get a 2 minute opening statement. This should include:
Who they are and who they represent
What land they claim
What are the rules of their land

Next we will rotate through questions such as:
What do the River Kingdom freedoms mean to your group?
What is your stance on PVP and retaliation?
Two part: Would you encourage all groups to join a major alliance? how many power blocks do you see as optimal for the game as a whole (not just for your settlement specifically)?
Will you welcome/allow new groups to build settlements close to yours, or do you claim the empty settlement spots within your borders?
What is the role of the forums (GW/Paizo) in your game/government?
Who can 'speak' for your group (especially on the forums) and what happens if a member decides to go against the grain?
Do you support PFU and the University’s Rules/Requests?

I will ask a question and each person will have 1-2 minutes to answer (depending on the question), and an option for a 30 second rebuttal. Questions are not necessarily in order and the goal would be to have the debate have a flow. I reserve the right to ask any other questions I come up with, including discussing differences between the answers of the groups (i.e. I will probably probe for more on key things).

The Mumble is limited to the first 75 participants but it will be recorded and put up with the rest of the videos at http://youtube.pathfinderuniversity.com

It seems like everyone is putting their stake in the ground, drawing lines, etc for their area. PFU is in a little different position in that we exist at the will of the community. So with that in mind, I want to share our requests and rules to get feedback from the community. I am not going to review the rules of PFU for our students and faculty, (as those are elsewhere and set by us) but want to get the group’s feedback on our requests.

Thod’s point about rules as written and rules as intended are good here but think of these as ‘requests as intended’

 • PFU would like to hold 6 towers (as were ceded to us by Aeonian League and EBA)
 • PFU would like to claim the territory two hexes from RiverBank as university grounds (i.e. the core six and any hexes that directly connect to a core six hex, even though a few of those are off the map right now). Within the claimed hexes:
 • Please NO PVP in the University hexes unless as part of an exercise (i.e. PFU sanctioned class). Also please do not camp outside the hexes or try to trap members to come out of the hex (i.e. don’t set yourself up on a route with the INTENT of getting new players. If new players are outside of the University hexes, or trespassing on your territory, feel free to follow your own rules.)
 • Feel free to help with our escalations, but please take a couple students with you. Any loot from the escalation that you don’t need or want, please donate to the University.
 • Please leave the resources (nodes) in these hexes for University gathering. If you have to gather in these hexes (for some reason) please donate anything you do not need to the University.
 • Please do not place any holdings in these hexes unless you are a member of the University. When a member leaves the University they should take their holding with them (i.e. take your small holding to where you go).
 • Husks will most likely be from a student, so no looting husks unless you already have contacted a student or faculty to turn the stuff into.
 • Use the University mumble (golarion.mumble.com port 3093) to reach people in the University if you need anything (such as students to go on escalations).

There is one RULE NOT REQUEST: The University hexes may not be used for ‘staging’ a war or otherwise using the land for PVP purposes (i.e. don’t all meet up in PFU hexes to go take out another place).

The intent of the above is to make a semi-safe area for new players to grow. For those with an EVE background (not me) it sounds a bit like Hi-Sec intentionally. I’m not asking for a large area, (and don’t plan on growing beyond this) and the SW tends to be a sleepy area anyway.

What are your thoughts? PFU is a resource for the game as a whole so I would love feedback from the whole. We really don’t have a way to ‘enforce’ these rules on outside groups but I would hope the rest of the server can help by following these requests.

As a side note, we need more teachers. Please PM me or Foxglove if you are interested. It is fun, and you get to plug your company in return.

In light of the many recent threads about politics, territory, PVPm retaliation, etc, Pathfinder University has decided to make its class for Wednesday, 3/19 at 9PM EST a DEBATE about government and politics in PFO.

We are asking leaders from across the map to join us for this session. We would like to have 1 leader from each of the major power blocks, and will take a few leaders from the unaligned/minor blocks. This is mostly because we can't have 33 different people in the debate and would really like to keep it under 8-10. If you are willing to join the debate, please PM PFU Hoffman.

To date we have commitments from:

Omnipotentseal - Aeonian League
Cheatle - EBA

We will add more leaders as we get additional commitments.

The session is going to be a debate, following classical format:

1. Everyone will get a 1 minute max opening statement
2. I will ask a question and each person will have 1-2 minutes to answer (depending on the question), and an option for a 30 second rebuttal.
3. Everyone will have a 1 minute closing statement.

We currently have the class scheduled for 60 minutes but if we get 10 leaders and enough questions we may have to extend it to 90 minutes. It will be recorded and our previous sessions are at http://youtube.pathfinderuniversity.com

As far as questions go, here is a start:

What does the River Kingdom freedoms mean to your group?
What territory do you 'own' and what does that mean?
What is your stance on PVP and retaliation?

I will take more questions in this thread or via PM. PLEASE post questions in this thread but lets not try to answer them here as I want to have a live debate not a thread war.

Hoffman woke up a bit groggy (did time somehow slip today?) and realized he had somehow signed up to take a group of new players to fight the scourge that is Ogg. Ogg has been terrorizing the University for months and his students needed a test. Oh boy.

As Hoffman planned for his excursion, he decided it might help to ask for more help.

He penned a letter to Theodium: "We were there for you when those pesky goblins wouldn't go away. I saw adventurers I had never met fighting together. Do you think we can get some help like you did? We have this ogre Ogg in our back yard who just won't go away. We keep feeding him hoping he will finally be full, but maybe that strategy isn't working. I know it is short notice but my students plan on taking him on today and your help will prevent me coming back with less students".

Just to be safe Hoffman made a couple extra letters as he figured Grip and donkey might 'lose' a few on their way. Hoffman just didn't expect Grip to post one on every street post in his travels.

Just a short while later Hoffman heard horns. Lots of horns. Nactillius came running into his office out of breath. "Hoff, there seems to be a horde of adventurers coming our way. They are flying all types of banners and I worry they are coming to take us over."

Hoffman looked up from his desk "Nact, We promoted you to faculty because of your calm head and scouting skills. Why don't you use both?"

A few minutes later Nactillius came back with a report. "It is worse than I thought. There are banners from both Golgotha and The Empyrean Order. They are going to war here at RiverBank!"

Hoffman went up to his tower, looked out and saw that Nactillius was mostly right, but he missed that it seemed like not only were Golgotha and TEO there, but they were fighting TOGETHER to help the University.

Hoffman excitedly grabbed his gear and his students "Turns out both order and the calvary are here to help. Lets go join them and rid this world of Ogg!"

Today's PFU class was listed as "Dining with Ogg". The intent was to make a dent on the Tier 2 ogre escalation just south east of RiverBank (the home of Pathfinder University). What happened today was not what I expected.

By about an hour after server reset, we had representatives from Pathfinder University, Golgotha, The Empyrean Order, Emerald Lodge, Stoneroot Glade, Tavernhold, and Ozem's Vigil all fighting Ogg TOGETHER.

I have to admit there was a tense moment for me when I realized what groups were all coming together to fight in two hexes. It was at that moment that I realized I had also read to much of the hype about PVP. A couple quick whispers and messages and there was an agreement by all to work together and not have any PVP. All companies joined us on the Pathfinder University mumble, and there were multiple mixed groups.

Today I saw people who have fought both in game and in thread wars come together to help the university. At the same time I saw nearly a dozen new players see the best of the sever. There were 40 players (as far as I could count) by the time I called it a night. There were still probably 20 fighting Ogg when I logged off. I know I had a great time, got to see Guurzak lead our group, and get him to volunteer to teach a class (shameless plug he is teaching about criticals and stacking things Wednesday 3/11 at 8PM EST. More info here.

GW says players make the best content and today I believed it. Thanks to all and death to OGG!

Pathfinder University is proud to announce that we will have a keep side chat with Goblinworks Bob Settles, Wednesday 3/4 at 8pm EST in Thornkeep (within the keep palisade) and on the Golarion Mumble. If you don't know, Bob is the man behind the monsters for GW. (PVE and escalations are his things.)

Bob has agreed to answer our questions (as best as he can) and Hoffman will be the moderator. What that means is you can post your questions here, PM them to Hoffman and/or ask them in Hex or PM via Mumble during the event. I am going to try to ask Bob questions that impact the most players first, and during the event will be watching Hex chat for follow up questions.

We encourage everyone to join us in keep in Thornkeep as we would love to see a large group of players together. Dress to impress and wear your best for the pictures. We will also try to record the session to share for those who can't make it. Recordings of the previous keepside chats are here

If you have been waiting to get in and try Pathfinder Online, here is your chance. The faculty of Pathfinder University have a bunch of Buddy Invites which will give you an opportunity to try Pathfinder Online for 15 days. Before you do, here are three considerations:

1. Pathfinder Online is in Early Enrollment. What this means is both an opportunity to shape a game during development and an opportunity to see the bugs and bad things in an early release. Be aware that things change every two weeks, sometimes for the better, sometimes just to try something out. :)
2. The learning curve for PFO is currently rather steep. There are so many options in the game that it can be overwhelming. Luckily there is a new player guide, Cheatle's Guide and SSpitfire's guide. At the same time, we have a company called Pathfinder University that is here to help. Join our mumble (open to all) at golarion.mumble.com port 3093 or yell out in help and we will help.
3. PFO and Pathfinder tabletop are different. You will get an opportunity to see Golarion come to life in PFO, but you will also see it is different than tabletop. There are classes (Wizard, Fighter, Cleric, Rogue) but multi classing is almost essential. Levels and ability scores are earned by training feats but do not directly impact things (such as attack/damage). Experience points are earned at 100/hour, no matter if you are on or not, and you need achievement or category points to get past the training gates.

We hope you join us in the Pathfinder University as we have classes and live help both available. To Join Pathfinder University (PFU) in game click on the tower in the top left, search for PFU, select Pathfinder University and then hit apply to Join. Pathfinder University is for new players in their first 90 days while they are getting comfortable with the game and finding their permanent home.

If you want to try out Pathfinder Online, PM Axi Hoffman or email hoffmanpfu at gmail.com and I will find someone in our faculty that still has an open invite.

Pathfinder University is proud to announce our first class will be a public Fireside Chat with Goblinworks COO and Paizo CEO Lisa Stevens, Wednesday 2/18 at 8PM Eastern in Thornkeep (within the keep palisade) and on the Golarion Mumble.

Lisa has agreed to answer our questions (as best as she can) and Hoffman will be the moderator. What that means is you can post your questions here, PM them to Hoffman and/or ask them in Hex or PM via Mumble during the event. I am going to try to ask Lisa questions that impact the largest player groups first, and during the event will be watching Hex chat for follow up questions.

We encourage everyone to join us in keep in Thornkeep as we would love to see a large group of players together. Dress to impress and wear your best for the pictures. We will also try to record the session to share for those who can't make it.

Bottom line details:

Event: Public Fireside Chat with Lisa Stevens
Date/Time: Wednesday 2/18, 8-9PM EST
In-Game Location: Thornkeep within the keep palisade
Mumble location: Golarion/University mumble - golarion.mumble.com port 3093 in the Pathfinder University Channel. Download the mumble client here *Mumble is limited to the first 100 participants.

This is the first class of the Pathfinder University curriculum. We will launch a daily class series after this. Pathfinder University will be holding its classes in Thornkeep and on the Golarion Mumble and all are welcome to come.

If you want to try out Pathfinder Online, PM Axi Hoffman and I will find someone in our faculty that still has an open invite.

River Guides are a loosely knit company of people dedicated to helping new players. River Guides will provide support in the Help, hold classes and help those in the River Academy to grow. To be a River Guide you need to have 1 month experience in PFO (will probably grow in the future) and be willing to commit 2-4 hours per week in Help. Those who are part of another company but would like to volunteer as guides are welcome, but when acting as a guide (either as part of the company or not) they need to abide by the rules of the River Academy and Supporting Companies/Settlements. For those who want to teach classes but not necessarily be a River Guide member, PM Randomwalker our Dean of Curriculum.

Who Should Join River Guides? People who enjoy helping other players and are looking to make teaching part of their play style. You are welcome to follow your own path and grow your character however you want and all playstyles are welcome. As the River Academy grows, there will be more opportunities to work with new players and teach them the ropes. This may include leading escalations, giving tours, setting up trade agreements or whatever your heart desires.

We are currently recruiting for both Guides and those who would like to be leaders of the Guides and Academy. Here is an opportunity to help grow the pfo community, help new players and be a leader!

Rules for River Guides:
1. Have Fun
2. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you
3. Don’t be a Jerk

Joining The River Guides:
1. Register on the CotP boards. (River Guides are part of CoTP)
2. Apply for CotP membership.
3. Introduce yourself in the RiverBank section.
4. Join into our ongoing discussions, and check out the other titles our community have to offer.
5. Say Hi to Hoffman (you can also do this earlier if you have questions)

Mumble Usage: CotP has a dedicated 24/7 Mumble server. Mumble usage is a requirement for all River Guides, but a microphone is not required. This is because Mumble is where most of our conversations happen, and if you aren't in there, you really will not get integrated into the community as much as we would like. Mumble does offer text chat options and if everyone in-game is using the Mumble then you can likely reply to comments on the Mumble via our in-game chat as well.

In recent posts we found out that the vast majority of players are not part of a company and this could potentially have a very negative impact on the future of the game. To help new players get over the learning curve, and get them affiliate with a company, RiverBank is going to be opening the River Academy. River Academy will be a ‘holding’ company, where new players can go for a MAXIMUM of 90 days.

I am looking for supporting companies to teach classes at the River Academy. You will get an opportunity to plug your company/settlement in return for hosting classes. More info at http://tinyurl.com/RAOverview .

In an opportunity for full disclosure, RiverBank is (and will continue to be) part of the EverBloom Alliance and Covenant of the Phoenix. We will be using the CoTP boards and Mumble for discussions. That being said, we welcome ALL companies to be supporters of the Academy and will try to give equal class time to each.

For more info PM me here, catch me on mumble or in game as Hoffman

Quick highlights below:

RiverBank is refocusing to provide a home for both learners (those new to pfo) and teachers (those who want to guide) to help people enjoy playing PFO. PFO has a steep learning curve and if new players do not have support (and just someone to play with) there is a risk that they will stop playing. To that end, RiverBank is going to have two main companies associated with it, River Guides and River Academy

River Guides - Is a loosely knit company of people dedicated to helping new players. River Guides will provide support in the Help, hold classes and help those in the academy grow. In Thod's recent update on settlement sizes a post was made about how hard it is for new players to find a company/settlement. Therefore I propose this thread as one we can link new players to in order to make their choices.

For all new players - Companies are the 'guilds' of the game and most (almost all) are associated with a settlement. Companies are where you can find your support, either in playing the games or items (such as armor, equipment, recipes, etc) and groups to take on encounters with (either PVE or PVP). Look at all of the companies and find one that matches your play style and aims for the game. If you are not sure, pick a company that provides the right variety for you.

For companies - In this thread, make your best 'elevator pitch' and link to your long pitch. What this means is no more than 1 paragraph about your company, and no more than 1 post per company. A paragraph should be no more than 5-7 sentences, don't be a space hog. The intent is for a new player to quickly know what you are about and have a link for more info.

I am also going to make this thread in the Goblin Works forum.

There are a lot of guides out there about how to create your character (available here) which include pages of excel sheets on every option in PFO. If you visit the forums, you will find a variety of opinions about the game (including haters) but my goal here is to help new players know how to enjoy the game. Here are the top 5 things to consider (there are more, but here is where to start):

1. Realize the game is being developed as we play. Ryan calls it 2 years into a 5 year development cycle, but the bottom line is that we are building an airplane while flying. Things will break, and it is our job as players to constructively help Goblin Works create the game. You will see Ryan (CEO Goblin Works), Lisa (CEO Paizo) and all the devs in the game. They read the boards, talk to us in chat, and even go out adventuring with us. Share your opinions (appropriately) and help build the game. Give them a break when things break, because it is still being developed.

2. Realize it is a game. We are all here to have fun, and we have it in different ways. Pick your way to enjoy the game, but don't make it your life. Don't take PVP personally. It is a open sandbox style MMORPG. This means people will shoot you for no more reason then they are bored, or they want what you have. Choose if you want to be part of PVP or not, but realize it is a game. If you die you may lose some items, but you are instantly revived, and it really doesn't matter.

3. There are too many character options in the game. PFO is a game with more options then you know what to do with. Luckily you gain 100 XP an hour, so if you 'buy' the wrong thing, a couple hours later you can buy something else. If you really want to plan every move out, follow the excel sheets and have fun doing math. The decision you need to make is what type of character you want to make. Do you want to focus on Player V Player (PVP), Player V Environment (PVE), Crafting (either making items or refined goods), or Gathering (picking up refined supplies). Luckily you get three character slots (and you can delete characters) so you can try other things.

4. When you have decided what you want to be, and how you want to play, you need to find a company to play with. It is a multiplayer game and having an active company to play with is a big part of the fun. There is a list of companies here but the big thing is to find one that matches your play style (and in some cases, time zone). Companies control settlements, and can be found across the map and in all sizes and types There are large companies/settlements with 100+ members (such as The Empyrean Order/Brighthaven or Golgotha) and then the smaller ones (such as Hoff's Path/RiverBank). Read the forums, and reach out to the company you think fits you best. You really want to join one ASAP as they will provide support in the hard first couple of weeks.

5. When all else fails, ask for help. There is a channel for help, and both GMs and players are willing to help. I know that many players including myself (Hoffman) and others (such as Fiery) actively watch help to try to help in any way we can. Ask silly qeustions. We have all been there, and even though we are all essentially new, and the game keeps changing, we are trying to help.

Have Fun! (and don't be a Jerk!)

RiverBank is focused on helping others and having fun. We help others, especially new players and our brothers of the Everbloom Alliance.

Settlement Name: RiverBank
Website: Link
Location: South West Plains [-09.18]
Alignment: Neutral, accepting LN, CN, NG and N
Government: A group of friends working together to improve and enjoy the South West and the game. (i.e. not focused on large government or politics structures.
Recruitment: Open
Proto-Settlement Training: Cleric/Fighter
Sponsored Companies - Hoff’s Path Focused on trade and game enjoyment
Ideology and Focus:
RiverBank is a True Neutral settlement founded around the golden rule of do unto others as you would have them do unto you, and the Ryan rule of Don’t Be a Jerk. The focus is on having an area where people can enjoy the game, get help they need and have fun. The SouthWest is a bit of a quiet area, but RiverBank is part of CoTP and the Everbloom Alliance, so we join in escalations, PVE and PVP with our friends. PVP is only related to defense, either of our area, our allies, or new players.

As Fort Inevitable comes online, we will be a refuge for new players looking for a comfy place to start.

RiverBank is part of Covenant of the Phoenix (CoTP), and the Everbloom Alliance.

Government:
Not a settlement of big government or rules. Hoffman leads the settlement due to the requirement to have a leader but everything revolves around only two rules:

1. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
2. Don’t be a jerk.

Those are the only two hard and fast rules that govern RiverBank. Other guidelines include:
• Have fun
• Support our allies
• Abide by the NAP

Citizen Rights (boilerplate, when all else fails go to the two rules)
• Each citizen of RiverBank has the right to be treated with respect by fellow citizens.
• RiverBank prohibits discrimination, harassment and bullying against any person because of age, ancestry, color, disability or handicap, national origin, race, religion, gender, sexual or affectional orientation, gender identity, appearance, political affiliation, marital status, veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law. Riverbank expects that its citizens shall maintain an environment free of discrimination, including harassment, bullying, or retaliation.
• Any person who feels he or she has been unjustly or unfairly treated based on the provisions laid forth in this charter has the right to have their grievance addressed by Hoffman.
• Where separate access or prices can be set for citizens of RiverBank, citizens will be given priority or advantageous price compared to non-citizens. This pertains to training facilities and any other services for which separate pricing and/or access is available.

Economy:
RiverBank hopes to be a center of trade for the SouthWest with the hope of helping its members, alliance and new players.

Hoff's Path (CG) is a guild dedicated to crafting and building, hoping to be the economic force of our little world.

We are looking for a partner guild, so that we can be the yin to their yang. We are looking to align with the right partner so that we can focus on crafting, while they focus on adventuring/fighting. We are looking to co-locate in a settlement, and set up a trade post while helping to build the settlement. Of course our partner guild will have 'most favored nation' status (can't beat those prices!) but we are looking for a settlement that wants to work with others, not just war. If your group is looking for a partnership, please message us.

If you personally are more interested in crafting than fighting, come join Hoff's Path! Our focus is on cooperative growth and crafting, so we will need specialists in all areas. Send a message or feel free to Join Hoff's Path
