Rath continues firing his crossbow at the male, trying to bring one enemy down as quickly as possible.

Crossbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15;Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

However, the heavily armored fire giant is protected by his heavy armor.

From his position at the rear, Rath once more levels his crossbow and shoots at the oncoming giant. He also moves forward slightly, to ensure he can reach both combats with his spells, if required.

Crossbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14;Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

However the bolt strikes his armor and the giant is unharmed.

Coronei continues his duel with the orog.

Coronei vs orog: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26;Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

The brute suffers another wound.

Coronei's actions for round four

Coronei vs Orog: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20;Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Coronei manages to land a blow, injuring the orog further.

Rath's actions for round four

Rath vs Orc: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18;Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Scorching Breath: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Con Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Rath is barely standing but still manages to finish off the wounded orc. However the second one manages to dodge his summoned blast of fire.

Kraz continues his frenzied assault, eager to finish the beast off.

Greatsword: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12;Damage: 2d6 + 8 ⇒ (6, 2) + 8 = 16
Advantage: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Frenzy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17;Damage: 2d6 + 8 ⇒ (5, 5) + 8 = 18
Advantage: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

Both blows strike hard and the half-orc's sword thrusts deep into the giant's massive torso. As you all step back, it collapses onto the ground with a crash and quiet returns as combat comes to an end.

Out of combat - nicely done. Coronei you didn't need to use your spell.

On the southern side of the cave, Coronei notches an arrow and lets fly at the nearest foe.

Longbow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9;Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

However it dodges easily.

Coronei smoothly notches another arrow and lets it fly towards the Orc Chieftain.

Arrow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18;Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

The shot strikes true and the Chief shouts for the remainder of his troops to join the others over the river.

"Bring down the gate! I want them all dead in an hour!"

Silvio braces himself for the upcoming battle at the breach in the wall, cutting a dashing figure by the ruined bridge as he peers out over the dark water of the river seeking any sign of the oncoming Orcs.

You bots better stay off my lawn.

As Garai and Douena keep an eye out to be sure you weren't followed, Elysia approaches the guards at the gate, who straighten slightly as she stops a few feet away from them.

"Hi, I wonder if you can help us," she begins brightly. "We're looking for someone called the Crook Bearer. Does he live here? We have an exciting opportunity to present to him - a unique opportunity to secure ownership of genuine, Ancient Osirion artifacts! He's sure to want to speak with us. These treasures will make a grand addition to any discerning collector's home."

"And do you have an appointment, Miss...?" queries one of the guards politely.

"Elysia, Elysia Lyon. And these are my friends. I'm not sure. He'll certainly want to speak with us. Gosh I don't know what he'd say if he passed up an opportunity to purchase these treasures, only to find them displayed at the Exhibitory again!" looking over her shoulder towards Douena and Garai she continues. "The Arch Docent did say he'd be willing to purchase them, didnt he? Maybe we should just go there and leave the Crook Bearer in Peace...?"

Bluff check:1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20

"Ah..why don't you wait here?" asks the guard with a placating gesture. "I'm sure my Lord will be willing to make time to see you. He has one of the finest collections in Sothis, you understand." Beckoning a third guard over to wait with you inside the gates, the man you have been speaking with crosses the courtyard and disappears inside the manor.

The two guards who remain make it clear you are to wait here until their leader returns. From the gate you can see a large, well maintained manor house and a dark, stone building of peculiar design set slightly to one side. The entire property is enclosed with a high, stone wall - the only entrances being the main gate and what appears to be a sturdy, closed servants' entrance near the side of the house.

Parvenah keeps up the barrage of arrows, however the tiny creatures continue to prove elusive.

Parvenah's Attack:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6.1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Damage:1d8 ⇒ 5

Stepping up beside Parvenah, Felicia steadies her bow and releases an arrow into the rafters above. The two archers concentrate on the Pugwampi at J5. Although Parvenah's arrow flies wide, Felicia's hits the tiny creature, making it cry out in pain.

Parvenah's Attacl:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22.1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Damage:1d8 ⇒ 6

Felicia's Attack:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16.1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Damage:1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Parvenah unslings her backpack and casts it in Nano's direction, the halfling catching it deftly.

"The blue flask, hit the one covered with oil," she instructs him tersely as she readies another arrow and releases it at the pugwampis in the rafters above. "It'll burn to a crisp."

Unfortunately, as she tries to coordinate the action and release her attack, the strap on the backback snags on her quiver and the opportunity is lost.

Parvenah's Attack
To hit:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10.1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Damage:1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Nano grabs the backpack and pulls out the indicated flask, steadying himself before hurling it towards the nearest pugwampi standing beside Nuveril. The flask cracks open as it strikes the small creature, the oily contents covering it as it staggers backwards, eyes wide. Once exposed to the air, the alchemical fire smolders briefly and then ignites, immolating the creature as it collapses backwards onto the floor.

Nuveril is also splashed by the burning liquid, however the damage is minor and she is easily able to pat out the flame before it spreads too far. Nuveril takes 1 hit point damage.

Nano's Attack
To hit:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19.1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Damage:1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Lying unconscious in the gulley, Anyssa's condition continues to deteriorate as the battle rages above her.

Anyssa's stabilise check:1d20 - 5 ⇒ (11) - 5 = 6

Stabilise checks
Anyssa:1d20 - 4 ⇒ (10) - 4 = 6
Grunthor:1d20 + 2 - 6 ⇒ (17) + 2 - 6 = 13

Anyssa condition continues to deteriorate, however Grunthor's bleeding eases somewhat.

Anyssa continues to harry your enemy, his armor turning away one of her knives, but failing to deflect the second which inflicts another minor wound.

Attacks:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8.1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Damage:1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5.1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Parvenah takes aim from the floor below, also directing her attack towards the leader. Despite the aura of unluck, her shot hits home and the self-styled pugwampi king roars with anger and pain.

Attack:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17.1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Damage:1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Anyssa moves to flank the last of your enemy, both starknives a flash of motion. With a howl of pain the creature spins to face the new threat.

Attacks:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24.1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Damage:1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5.1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Anyssa continues circling the bugbear, taunting it as she dances clear of its morningstar once more. Enraged, it lifts its weapon to smash it down towards her and she seizes the moment, darting in to cut it once more with her knives, the onslaught proving too much for the creature as it sinks to its knees, bleeding from half a dozen wounds, before lapsing into unconsciousness.

Attacks: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16.1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Critical Confirmation:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3.1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Frowning slightly, Parvenah attempts to play along with Nano's charade, backing away from the sounds of the baboons with a somewhat unconvincing look of fear before following the halfling down the ladder.

As the creatures emerge from the canopy, Parvenah fires yet another arrow however as she draws the bowstring back, it slips through her fingers, releasing early as the arrow sails harmlessly across the room.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8.1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Anyssa brings both of her starknives to bear on the creature she is fighting, darting in under his guard and cutting him once more.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5.1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

As the pugwampis cower behind the hanging drapes, Parvenah releases another arrow. Despite the pugwampis' aura of unluck, the arrow strikes true, hitting one a glancing blow. It yelps in shock, however it's tough hide seems to turn away the arrow without suffering any serious damage.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24.1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

Damage:1d8 ⇒ 3

Anyssa emerges from her hiding spot, slipping behind the bugbears and cutting one of them in the leg. With a roar, the beast turns to face it's new attacker.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

All but Douena:

Spoiler:
Elysia's perception as the group prepares to leave:
1d20 ⇒ 10

Jaken's eyes narrow as he sees an opening and he thrusts forward, skewering the pugwampi as it shrieks in pain. The miserable thing slides to the ground as he withdraws his sword and all of you gradually feel a lifting of that sense of wrongness.

Jaken's attack (1d20+3=23, 1d20+3=22, 1d6=5)
Critical confirmation (1d20+3=16, 1d6=6)

The unluck aura has faded - no more rolling twice and taking the lowest..

Jaken steps in to engage the remaining pugwampi, standing shoulder to shoulder with Nuveril as they corner the creature beneath the kitchen bench. As he attempts to run the beast through, however, his foot rolls on a broken shard of pottery and his attack sails wide, gouging the benchtop with his shortsword as the pugwampi gives him an evil grin.

"He's here, in spirit at least," grins Milaniel from Grakl's body. Casting her eye over the others and determining that Cenciach is still the most wounded, Milaniel casts her remaining two healing spells on the dragon, healing him of a further 12 hit points. With a strange smile, Grakl's form becomes indistinct as the ghost departs his body, his eyes rolling in their sockets before refocussing as he regains control of his body, Milaniel's incorporeal form lazily drifting away from him.

Milaniel drifts towards the nervous goblin and enters his body. He shudders for a moment, his eyes rolling back in his head before refocussing, a familiar smile on his lips as Milaniel looks out at you from within. After stretching her arms and legs, accomodating herself to her new body, she directs her attention to the unconscious dragon in her arms.

As she begins to sing softly, you recognise Grakl's voice, yet it is somehow different. Her song continues for a little while as she works her healing magic, until Cenciach's eyes suddenly open.

Cure light wounds on Cenciach. (1d8+1=3, 1d8+1=8) Cenciach gains 11 hit point.

"Is anyone else badly hurt?" enquires Milaniel. "I have a little more reserves, although I'll need to rest soon."

Grakl:

Spoiler:
As Milaniel enters your body, you feel a sudden wrench and find yourself hovering a few feet above your own body. You can see and hear, although everything is fuzzy and indistinct. You have no sense of touch or smell and feel a longing to return to your body - despite that, you can't move of your own volition - you are forced to travel wherever your physical body moves. The experience is decidedly uncomfortable for you.

I can't talk, because somebody who may or may not have been a healer decided to go AWOL.

A very good point actually, my apologies...

Rising up out of the floor, you see the grinning visage of Milaniel, drawn to you by the skull Grakl still holds.

"Well, that was fun," she announces with a wicked smile. Noticing Cenciach in Grakl's arms she fixes the small goblin with her gaze. "I think I may be able to help our unfortunate winged friend, although someone is going to find it...uncomfortable." Slowly, the ghost begins to move towards Grakl, looming over his small form as she prepares to possess him.

Elsebeth and Werdred continue staring at one another for a few moments, before Elsebeth suddenly straightens, a humorless smile crossing her face. "A doorman, is it?" she asks as she steps through ahead of Werdred. "Well, some are born to lead, others to serve. At least you know your place." Turning her back on him, Elsebeth strides quickly through the rain to join the others at the entrance to the mine.

When Werdred remains inside the office for a few moments, Elsebeth follows him in out of the rain.

Continuing his call for the guard, Allovin grapples with the held Scepter, constricting his arms as he restrains the man tightly. Scepter shakes off the effects of Kimu's spell as Allovin tackles him, crying out but unable to shake free of the paladin's grip. Kimu waits until the guards arrive on the scene before acting, moving slightly apart from the melee.
