That is correct. Until it comes back, I am borrowing the +5 Mithral Breastplate. My AC goes down just a little, but at least I can move at a normal 30 foot rate.

OK. In terms of downtime or lack thereof, it works out the same. I just don't need to back out January and February from my spreadsheet.

Annexation of Pitax

Prior to annexation, our Loyalty modifier was 124 vs a control DC of 102.

So getting the people to buy in should be easy enough. I included increasing the festival and promotion edicts per our conversation.

Adding in the territory and buildings from your email, not including the Palace and the Warehouse, our new stats are:

Size: 142
Control DC 162
Economy 192
Loyalty 150
Stability 154

Our economy is strong, which means we’ll be easily able to build our way out of any lingering unrest. Our Loyalty and Stability will need some work, though.

With our new size and everything else, keeping our army as is, our consumption should be 29.

We produce the following magic item slots:
Minor: 50 (20 empty)
Medium: 17 (11 empty)
Major: 6 (all empty)

Our treasury sits at 236 BP

I expect our income to average around 140 BP/month. That means we should have around 110 BP/month to build with.

Timeline Clarification

According to my notes and what I see online, we finished December (Kuthona), reaching 80+ hexes and becoming a Kingdom.

In January (Abadius), we planned to officially coronate Oz. We were invited to the Rushlight tournament. It took us several days to pack up and get there, and then we were at the tournament for about a week.
Near the end of the tournament, we received word Leveton was under attack, so we high-tailed it there and defended the city personally. At that point, we had no armies with which to retailiate. We finished the builds we had planned for January, as we had the council meeting at the beginning of the month. My tracking sheet has transactions recorded in the treasury for that month.

In February (Calistril), we recruited and trained our armies. Rules as written that took the whole month. In my notes, I have us paying consumption for those armies, and then doing income rolls, with a note saying that all other development was on hold due to the war.
Technically, I think the fighting at Pitax actually took place in early March (Pharast). Comparatively speaking, for the purposes of downtime before the next bunch of events, I don’t think it matters. We’re just rushing to return in March instead of January.

For the kingdom, it makes a minor difference, since we did operate at a profit in February, so there is some more money in our treasury than there was in January. Not enough to really make a difference, since this is the last chapter, and therefore the last modification to the kingdom.

Male Human Cavalier/14

In the email, you have two improvement in Pitax that are not listed in Book of the River Nation.

Palace
Warehouse

There is a Palace listed in Ultimate Campaign. Should I use those stats?

You also have 3 major items. I count 2: Black market (1) and Waterfront (1).

Male Human Cavalier/14

Raz,

Question about an armor property from Ultimate Equipment. Would you allow Oz to get the Hosteling property added to his armor?

link from PFSRD

Short version - it stores your animal companion in a magical extra-dimensional space, releasing it on a command word. That would allow Oz to actually have his animal companion with him on a more regular basis. the cost is 7,500 GP.

Male Human Cavalier/14

While I'm adding in stats - do you have a list of the improvements in Pitax?

Male Human Cavalier/14

We can announce an amnesty for former members of the Catspaw Marauders, if they come in and disarm. As for their leaser, first, we need to gather some information about her. How much responsibility does she personally bear for Irovetti's reign of terror? When we have a better idea who she is, we can decide if she is merely a defeated enemy deserving of respect and dignity, or if she should be treated as a criminal and hunted down.

I'll work on updating my kingdom sheet with the new hexes and will share it with you later for comparison.

on a separate note - I see Winery listed in the book of the river nations, but not vineyard. Is a vineyard just a farm hex, or does it have the same values as a winery, or something else entirely?

Male Human Cavalier/14

OK, with the peanut gallery having been heard from, the vote is for annexation.

How will that work? Will we get the whole thing at once, or do we start claiming hexes between Freemarch and Pitax until we reach the city?

If that's the case, there are 7 hexes between us, and we can claim 4 per month, so it will take 2 months to make Pitax an official part of our kingdom.

We'll need to get back to investing some of our income in building the kingdom. Maintaining the larger armies, we have about 20 to 25 BP per month in usable revenue. We also have a pretty sizable war chest. Of course, the math is going to change as we add more hexes and see what the values of Pitax look like.

Male Human Cavalier/14

Overall, I see these as our options for the long-term disposition of Pitax:

Annex the entire country.

Vassalage – maintain an occupation force, and give Pitax limited independence with a provisional governor from Greenmarch.

Independence – hand over control of the kingdom to the locals, presumably through the noble families (either one of them or a council of all three).

Either vassalage or independence would need to include reparations to Greenmarch, likely in the form of territory.

Any opinions?

Tavius_Donatus wrote:

The houses can't be trusted ...

My suggestion is to approach Liacenzaz in secret ...

I agree that the noble houses cannot be trusted.

I also agree that the Liacenza family is the place to start. They have lost the most to the previous regime, and have the most to gain from securing our favor.

Tavius - approach them, secretly, as you suggested, and feel them out. Offer them noble title and estates from Greenmarch as an incentive. You may want to use the Medallion of Thoughts we recovered. See if you can get a bead on their surface thoughts when speaking to them.

We also need to reach out to Mivon. If we annex Pitax, we will be stretched pretty thin. We need a friendly power on our southern border. Perhaps we can provide some incentives. (trade treaty, land, etc). Perhaps Lady Maray can facilitate opening such a conversation.

Male Human Cavalier/14

First things first.

We need to disarm and disband the mercenary armies remaining in the city and occupy the city.

We need to restore order in Pitax.

We need to make arrangements to return the shawl to its rightful owner.

Once those things are accomplished, we can start discussing the long-term status of Pitax.

Male Human Cavalier/14

Raz,

I found the discrepancy in the kingdom treasury. We were in agreement at the end of turn 42. At the end of turn 43, you had us at 164 while I had 160. I double-checked my figures and I believe mine are accurate. Here's what we have for turn 43:

Consumption: 6 BP
Claimed 2 hexes: a3 and F3 (2 BP)
Road in a3 (1 BP)
Farm H7 and H8 (8 BP)
Buildings: 55 BP
Leveton: Black Market:25 (half price due to market)
Leveton: City Wall: 8
Leveton: City Wall: 8
Leveton: House: 3
Shrikeport: Noble Villa: 11 (original price 24 BP. Half due to castle, minus one for carpenter)

Total Spent: 72
Incmoe (including 1 for stability) 90
Change: +18
142+18 = 160

Male Human Cavalier/14

And it looks like the image of Varnhold is showing the Graveyard, but not the Monument or the Shrine.

Not an issue just yet, since there is space for the garrison at F4 & F5

the Garrison is a 2 square building, so it looks like the only place you can put it without tearing down something is at F4/F5.

In terms of leaving the tournament grounds, how many Teleports can we string together without resting? We have a couple of scrolls, right?

I'm figuring that the bulk of the entourage is going to have to head back on horseback, but hoping we can arrange enough teleportation to get the women and children out.

To make room, I'm even thinking of leaving Ajax to walk back with the mounted troops.

The exception to that thought are our spies. I'm thinking about asking them to stay behind and see if they can blend in with the crowd and infiltrate Pitax. We'll need contacts and intel when we are ready to counter attack.

I have also been toying with the idea of reaching out to that Bard from the boasting contest. Her loyalties did not seem to run deep in any direction. I wonder if she'd be open to switching employers. Granted, she seems like she might be evil, but you do what you gotta do.

Male Human Cavalier/14

Rules as Written - it would work.

I'm sure that's not quite what the developers intended, but hey - worth a shot to avoid losing the city.

Otherwise, it's on to Plan B.

Contain them at Leveton, build up a retaliatory force, engage in acts of guerrila warfare while the new armies are in training.

Then, when the time is right, take back what is ours.

Then, take the fight to their door and make them pay.

Is buring the enemy's towns and fields consistent with Lawful Neutral?

Male Human Cavalier/14

You know, I was crunching the numbers, and Ettore and Eriwulf are each a Fine Army of level 12 creatures, which makes them CR4 each.

When you add in that they both have magic arms and armor, and spellcasting, I show Ettore as:

Ettore CR4
CG Fine Army of Human Cleric 12
COMBAT
hp 18; DV 22 (24 ranged); OM +12, Ranged
Special Abilities: Spellcasting: 6th level spells
Resources: Magic Armor, Magic Weapons, Healing Potions, Ranged Attack, Shield
LOGISTICS
Speed 2; Consumption NA – he pays his own way
Leader: Himself (CHA +?)

Place him in Leveton, which has a defense of 28 once the walls are finished, and his effective DV is 50. He can hold the city by himself pretty well.

Eirwulf has lower level spells, so his OM and DV are a bit lower, but he has the mobility advantage special ability from his ability to transform into a dragon, and also the breath weapon special ability, which gives him bonus damage. (and could negate the regeneration of the troll army).

We might not be as screwed as I feared.

Build a Noble Villa at L5 and L6 (a lovely waterfront estate for someone) (11 BP)

Total Cost 55 BP

Then I'd like to transfer 16 BP to the Feemarch fund, to get that back up to 25 BP

Tavius - you have 25 BP at your disposal currently. Is there anything you'd like to build?

And in Leveton, build a couple more wall sections: on the east side of the new district, then on the south side of the city. that just leaves the opening to the West to fill in.
