Kyle was a typical all-American kid growing up. His father (and father's father) was a cop so it seemed like it was destined Kyle was heading that direction too. However, his patriotism led him to join the Army. He served as Military Policeman (MP) but saw some action too. His Humvee exploded while he was traveling from base and several of his friends were lost.

When he returned from service, he was still a bit shell-shocked. He joined the Force but still had some troubles adjusting. That was until he joined the K-9 unit. He found working with the dogs and have them rely on him and give him the nuturing he needed helped tremendously.
