History/Background:
Spoiler:

.....Adric G'mmon was a very rare individual. One of very few Gnomes that are politically inept,he found living in Zilargo extremely difficult.Being a gifted artisan he really enjoyed the company of the house Canieth artificers and he would spend much time in their company learning what he could. When the government officials of Zilargo 'requested' that he travel back to Cyre with them to 'plumb ' their secret, he agreed. He packed up his family and left. On the journey to Cyre, he told his friends what was going on and stated that he had no intention of spying.Unbeknownst to him his wife Pearta was an agent for the government. She was saddened and appalled at what he had done, but her orders were clear....Traitors would not be abided. She poisened the Artificers and her husband, then was preparing to leave with her young son when the War arrived locally. It was a mixed battle of Thrane, Breland, Hobgoblin troops and Cyrian Special forces(Black caps?).Pearta was never seen again by Nomric.
.....In the end, nobody truly won. A Paladin of Dol Arrah, a Cyrian named Korvac, found the young gnome, Nomric, along with one of the younger artificers, Garneth, underneath the bulk of a large man, the head artificer named Gahlron d'Canieth (Garneth took the surname of Korvac until he joined house Canieth, and Nomric took the name of Gahlron in honor of their saviors.).The Paladin helped the human boy with his poison and then escorted the two youngsters into Metrol. There they were raised by a house Canieth orphanage. Both showed remarkable promise and were trained to be artificers. They became very good friends.Garneth was inducted into the house and took up the Canieth name. The two drifted apart as friends do when one's station in life changes.Adrift and lonely, Nomric joined Korvac and adventured for a while with him.
.....Several years passed and the War heated up again. Garneth sent a letter to Nomric and Korvac and asked them to come see him. He was working at a small Canieth enclave, on projects for the Crown of Cyre. He mentioned that he might be in danger and could use their help. They left immediatly and travelled hard. All for naught, the damage had already been done. When they arrived the only thing left standing at the enclave was a battered, dusty warforged. Bodies were piled all around it, mixed between Cyrian soldiers, house Canieth artificers and many Karnnathi zombies. Korvac was enraged and rode off, to inform the Queen.Nomric stayed and repaired the warforged. He then had it help him bury the dead, eventually coming across Garneth's body.Falling to his knees, he wept, tears of sadness and frustration, cursing the War in general and the Karnathi in specific, profane detail. As it turned out the warforged was an artificer as well, with a wand sheathe in it's arm, and a need for vengeance.Nomric gave it it's freedom (who could stop him) then loaded it up with all of the magic items he could find in the carnage. Casting every useful Infusion he could on it, it left and headed off to fulfill it's new name,Vengeance. When the troops arrived Nomric was exhausted. They fed and questioned him.Mildly impressed with his abilities and his initiative with Vengeance, the captain asked if he would serve in the military and help save Cyre. Nomric decided that this might be the best way to honor his fallen friend, by destroying the enemies that had done this.He joined the army and eventually worked his way up to the special forces...the Black Caps. Present day.....
