Frogskin glares at her. "Esmerelda insisted that I wear my proper garb while here. So shut up."

Oh, right.

She purses her lips to suppress further laughter and goes on her way.

Passing through the clubhouse...

'Bearded by these puny mortals!
I will launch from fairy portals
All the most terrific thunders
In my armoury of wonders!'

Sweeps majestically off to somewhere else.

Meanwhile, an elven woman is touring magic-item shops, haggling with some of the vendors, arguing with others, trading, wheeling, and dealing in all sorts of exotic magic and esoteric tomes.

The elven aristocrat returns to the sanctum, and perhaps spends a little less time in the casino than she was formerly wont to do, and a little more peering out of windows, fussing over the guards and inquiring anxiously how well trained they are, or nervously fingering a wand of ivory which she has not been seen with before.

I mean... why are you all looking at me like that again?

On her way out of the grove, Nirellia sees the new arrivals - has a chance to observe their state - and pauses for a moment; but then she grimaces, shakes her head, and hurries from the grove.
Edit:
Don't get personally involved in this, it's not your war, she can perhaps be heard chastising herself in Sylvan as she departs.

Who might you be? You are more than you appear. The Earth Sight is strong here.

An elven princess, and events like this, I must say, is why I prefer to try to stay OUT of the fights of others. I had thought that places such as the casino and this grove would be safe from intrusion, places where I could relax for a while and watch the constant changing of the worlds; instead, I find that... She trails off, abruptly, seeming frightened and annoyed that she is frightened.

I intended no disrespect, and I think it would be wisest to say no more, and to take my leave. I have done what I can to bring you aid. I do not wish for a part in whatever counsels which you must take now, following such an intrusion.
She gestures and the staff disappears into air.

I have done what I can to try to alert a pair of very capable seeming women I met yesterday at the casino. They struck me to be the sorts who might revel in this sort of peril and adventure. Their names were Lynora and Alaina, if I recall correctly.
If you have not made their acquaintence before, they might make useful comrades to you, in whatever struggle it is which is taking place.

The image of an elven woman appears in the sanctum to Alaina and Lynora wherever they may be. (Unless they are in areas where such projections could not normally work.)
I was visiting an ancient grove I had heard others speak of, when a huge metal construct of some kind appeared. It uttered several threats but then vanished - I think the powers of the grove may have driven it off - but I recalled that you are fighting some sort of enemy, and thought this might be of interest to you.
The image winks out.

The elven woman clutches her staff in her right hand, whilst weaving the other through the air, in the gestures of a sending.

A streak of energy flies through the air to burst and fade where the Tsar just exited the thread. The elven woman abruptly stops twirling the staff. She seems to sag slightly in apparent relief.
Is it genuinely gone? It seemed to know you? she looks at the other two.

PREPARE CHAMPIONS. THE PALE MISTRESS COMES, AND HELL FOLLOWS WITH HER.

The Tsar spins his blade and cuts a hole in the fabric of the thread, walking through to somewhere else in a pulse of green energy. The hole seals behind him. The music fades away.

Hmmph. Pesky inconvenient witnesses.

The elven woman looks perturbed by this arrival, and perhaps a little alarmed, but begins to loop her fingers through spell-casting gestures, plucking an ancient length of ebony, some six feet in length from the air and starting to twirl it end over end.

Already mentally flexing her fingers and wondering how to take posession of the treasure on display...

I don't. I want his head. For my trophy collection. Such shiny, pretty, jewels.

Interesting.
An elven woman garbed in woodland clothing and with a regal manner arrives in the grove. She speaks in the sylvan tongue.
I heard this place discussed in Sunny G's casino, which I have been looking over, and thought that I'd stop by and take a look.
She looks appreciatively around at the trees and wildlife, then back at the emperor and board warden.
And you two would be?
She leaves the invitation for them to introduce themselves hanging in the air.

Edit:
The elven woman looks in annoyance at the Steel Tsar as he arrives.

Hey! Magical protections aren't that unusual on aristocrats, and particularly not ones interested in gambling... You should see the protections some of the other guests have to stop people from picking their pockets whilst they hobnob, to stop themselves from getting drunk whilst they booze, or to keep their minds from being read whilst they play cards.... ;)

Unless pressed to stay for some reason, Nirellia has left the others to talk without her by this point.

"I...have some bad news. The Kittens are not, as we previously believed, going to help. They are, in fact, most likely still trapped. The Defectives, however, are still fully functional. The Lemmings are less than such.
"We were ambushed. The Lemmings were nearly wiped out. So was I, but some...mage intervened."
He notices the new arrival.
"Who are you?"
*Because we didn't have any people missing eyes yet.

Oh dear. That sounds very bad business. And it also sounds very private. I am a guest here, visiting the casino, and if you have such important things to discuss, I shall excuse myself at once.

She makes to go, both looking and sounding embarrassed.

Oh, how quaint, she exclaims in response to Alaina's offered hand, but still takes the time to briefly and firmly shake it.

Edit:
You're the hostess here, aren't you? she addresses Alaina. Do you get frightfully bored shaking hands and greeting people?

Oh, I don't like to stand on formality, in places like this, so feel free to call me 'Elly'. I have a handful of titles, which are useful for boring particularly pompous humans with at the gaming tables of casinos, but none of them matter very much at this moment.
I heard about the new resort here, and that gamblers would be flocking from all corners in a very short time, and thought that I would drop by to take a look at it myself. So far the set up looks most impressive in the scale of such things which I have seen in my lifetime.
Lynora's not seeing any more at this moment than Sunny G would, which is what appears to be an elf who does have a not immodest number of protective spells woven about her, though nowhere near as much magic as, say, the average archmage.

Amused silvery laughter rings through the hall, and Alaina and Lynora suddenly find that there is a beautiful elven woman dressed in woodland finery with them. Her age is indeterminate, after the manner of some with fey heritage, and there is some unquantifiable element of wild beauty to her.
My apologies, but I could not help but overhear your conversation, as I was was passing. If I had an acorn for every child or immature elf I have heard whinging about 'but things used to be so much fun - why do I have to do that?'... Well let us say that I would have a considerable forest.

I don't know...I don't want to leave here for too long, but I usually feel better in the Grove than just about anywhere else. What do you think, hon? she asks, JH

Undead would feel 'very uncomfortable' at the Grove. The positive energy it touches wreaks havoc on them. His eyes seem to look backwards or forwards in time, and the vision brings a smirk to his face.

Not that the Grove is some haven of Law or Good, but it overwhelmingly a haven of Life fed by positive energy.

Oooh. You make that point well for me sir, and I am so glad that we are of a like frame of mind... :)

Perhaps you might consider a position as one of my provincial governors?

Oops. Pardon me.
