Auurghhh (but in a good sort of way)! Now I have to start worrying about train fares and timetables... umbrellas in case of rain... distance/time taken to walk from station to campus, etc.
Very good to see you coming across the Atlantic though, for those of us unable to travel to PaizoCon.
Gencon UK for the win! Ah, Merry Ole England...here we come. You'll never be the same again! :-)

Well you do get the adventures you are running 2 weeks ahead of the show. So you could get a few people together before and run it ahead of time to get a feel for what you are doing. The material you need for a four hour run isn't that much.
I like using pre run adventures. I feel like a director with a script. I help interpret the writers ideas to the players. Great analogy Herald! I also dig on running pre-gen adventures at cons. Is good times!
Zuxius wrote: So this is pathfinder PDF mini adventures? Who are you people? Why? Whyyyy?
Zux
Ha! Nope, Sinister is my own wee publishing house. We put out OGL adventures and supplements. Our Indulgences line is a series of mini-pdfs (though some of this month's grew to not-so-mini-size).
The Warrior's Way is a supplement for monks, fighters and like-minded characters who want to be able to whip out some Island-style martial arts techniques and add some new interesting weapons and items to their repertoire.
Iron Sentinel wrote: Nick, I just got the PDF, and just like the "Art of the Duel" PDF, it was well worth every cent. Now I want to convert my old 3rd level, 1st edition monk into a Mai'kal for the Pathfinder game.
Also, reading the improvised "natural" weapons of of the Tulita reminded me of some of the weapons in Dark Sun, like the Tortise Blade (horse-shoe crab-like gaunlets that allowed you to stab and enhanced your punching attacks), the Thanak (a wooden sword studded with ptarrx teeth), and the Carrikal (a sharpened jawbone attached to a haft, sort of like a battle axe).
All in all, good job!
Thanks Sentinel! Glad you enjoyed it!

Hey guys! Glad you dug on the article! I had a lot of fun with the background stuff and the stratagems especially! Good times!

I imagine a lot of Chelish Pathfinders are LN and N.
Bray Abbitt wrote: Nicolas Logue wrote: Bray Abbitt wrote: I know the GenCon scenarios will be available to participating GMs a few weeks before GenCon, but will these be available for home play after GenCon or are we moving on to new ones?
Hi Bray! They will be available for homeplay after the con wraps! Yes indeed!
Edit: And there will be two new ones every month thereafter until Origins, at which time there will be another four-scenario release for that con as well! Rock!
Thanks Nick!
A followup question: Will the scenarios have an expiration date? I assume they must expire by origins, but can they be played anytime in that season? They can be played anytime in the season!
Azoun The Sage wrote: Hmmm, let's see, I saw at least one person willing to run a PFS campaign at Gen Con UK this year! That sells me, i'll be definitely going now!!! A chance to play on not DM!!! It's a dream come true! And to play in the new PF setting!!! It's not a dream...it's heaven!!!
Now how do I ensure I get a seat at that gaming table!?!?!?!?
Let's just say there might be more than one GM running PFS at Gencon UK this year. I think the Society can organize more than that! :-)

Yeah, that's crap. THERE SHALL BE NONE OF THAT NONSENSE IN PATHFINDER SOCIETY!!!
So proclaimeth I!
We may have some interesting news about online PFS soon!
Thanks so much guys! I'll do me best to get you more Sinister goodness soon! :-)
Pistols for the win! We'll have to see about that...yes indeed we shall!

Vic Wertz wrote: Coridan wrote: Joshua J. Frost wrote: You can have multiple characters but oh boy level progression would be slooooooooow. Once you've played a scenario, you can't play it again. What about DMs and DMing scenarios? GMs can run the same scenario multiple times. (Personally, I'd love it if certain GMs were known for being particularly awesome running specific scenarios.) That would be awesome. It would be like the old Kung Fu Schools.
Your Frozen Fingers of Midnight is good honorable GM...but it cannot defeat my Silent Tide! :-)
Timespike wrote: Nicolas Logue wrote: Coridan wrote: Forcefully imposing democracy on other civilizations works so well in the real world =p Ha! I would totally play a hegemonic Andoran paladin if I was in this faction! It would be more fun than God or Freedom intended us to have!!! :-) I intend to show that rogue/paladin is not an oxymoronic combination. And I'll do it when I smite a Chelaxian RIGHT IN THE KIDNEYS. Can't wait to see this combo! The Patriot comes to mind. Especially that first scene of ambush slaughter. Do it up Timespike!

You can hate Qadira all you want. They'll own your nation soon. I have no hate for Qadira O' Logue the great, if anything i think i would excel in playing the role; but alas, for now, I live and play in the trenches of New York, I don't intend to role play it as well ;-)
Ha! Word! Money Money Money = New York living. :-)
You probably want to go with Taldor then. That would be a nice break of pace.

I think the Pathfinder Society talk is on Saturday the 28th from 5pm-6pm and the Future of Pathfinder and Piazo talk is on the 27th from 7pm-8pm. You can just search Pathfinder or Piazo on the Origins game fair site for a listing of their events.
Hope that helps
You coming Chris? Look forward to seeing you there my man! Perhaps we shall throw the dice together again as we did at UBCon!!! Rock!

But hey, the month's coming to its end, so how far can it be. Again, great work! Thanks Hugo! The release date is pushed back sadly, thanks to some personal life crises (my parents both fell very ill and were hospitalized around the same time).
It will be a July release now! So sorry about this delay...but it does mean you'll get some more Indulgences!

If a third party 4E book comes out with "Nicolas Logue" on the cover the GSL is hereby immediately revoked. And Nick Logue will be reduced to a pile of dog s*@+.
The best is that when 5E is announced, everyone will say "this is the last time" all over again...and so many of us will believe it...I love the lessons we refuse to learn from history. Ha!
Greg A. Vaughan wrote: Greg A. Vaughan wrote: It looks like I'll be seeing a bunch of you on Saturday at 1:00 for Murder on the Silken Caravan. I think I counted five of you signed up already just from this thread, so that represents most of the slots available.
KE, Jr., I think I'll see you on Sunday for Hydra's Fang if my schedule holds as is. Guys, I am totally wrong on this stuff. I was looking at it like there was only one table for each of these events. Evidently there are like 12 tables apiece. So if you aren't at the table I'm running, stop by mine and say hi afterward anyway (I'll be the GM whose hands are slaked in PC blood ;-) ) Oh no, don't worry Greg. You're running all 12 tables. MUUUHHAHAHAHAHAAHAH!

I have been a big Star Frontiers gamer, so anything in that vein of sci-fi RPG is most welcome. Yeah! Hey did I read incorrectly or didn't you actually get a chance to contribute to the Gazetteer? That's awesome man! It will be so cool after having met you to get my hands on something you wrote. It'd be interesting to know what parts in there are you, man. Heh, I WISH. Rone there has writing credits to the Known Universe Gazetter...and there looks to be a Tim Hitchcock listed too.
Sadly, us Tim's are NOT interchangable.
Or are we.....? Dark Horizon Challenge coming soon Tim! You could dethrone the Hitchcock (he currently sits firmly among the top ten Nick's favorite writers)!
Oh, and to the OP of this thread's query I answer:
Just wait until you see the next faction. Nick's favorite!!!!!!!

The Jade wrote: Nicolas Logue wrote: Grimcleaver wrote: Sweet! So there's a whole campaign setting behind this huh? Wow, yeah you better believe I'm gonna' check that out. Looks incredible. Yep! The Known Universe Gazetteer (scroll down on the Dark Horizons page) comes out in the next month sometime! Rock! The Dark Horizons line intrigues me more than any other right now. I wasn't a big sci-f roleplayer, but Nick ran me through an impromptu adventure not altogether unlike Cold Black's premise and I was instantly hooked.
I had a small part in writing for the KUG, and seeing what everyone else wrote only whet my appetite for more.
Nick, Lou, someone... ya gotta run me through Cold Black. Maybe we can ressurect my 490 pound cleric of Gorph (left in shattered, frozen hunks on tower stairs in one of Nick's keeps) and give him a futuristic make-over. A man that big probably generates his own gravity in space. That's gotta be in the plus column. Maybe a new d20 Future feat called moon missile that allows me to hurl one of my many personal (toaster-size) satellites from its orbit for 2d4 damage? I think a little weekend at Lou's gaming retreat is just what Nick needs to restore his shredded sanity right now my man! I'd be all over GMing for you again Rone! I had a blast with you last time!

Both of those quotes have a very Sun Tzu feel to them. Word! I am also tapping some Kong Ming! He's not as well known, but just as badass as Sun Tzu! Plus, he's from the Three Kingdoms period! My personal favorite period of Chinese history!
COOKIES FOR YOU!
